  1. Putting everything from the last week to the side for a brief moment, we need a win tomorrow. I'm not one of those looking downwards, particular with only being a Burnley-handful of points from the top 6 and with a few home games coming up. An early goal or two to settle us would be ideal, but let's see how we go...
  2. I find it's the older generation who seem to be pro-Venky's, certainly via social media. Maybe they believe everything they read online, like the flat-earthers or those who think Bill Gates was secretly popping microchips into our arms, so he could see how many times we nip t'Asda in a week. Anyway, hopefully Tommy is right and it's something and nothing. Losing the best manager we've had since Big Sam would not improve the current situation in the slightest.
  3. Agree with this. It was far from a 10/10 window, but there are some obviously exaggerated reactions. But you have to bear in mind that this community seems to have a disproportionate negative outlook as opposed to the wider fan base (rightly or wrongly). The lad from Crewe does look a prospect and the American boy is intriguing as well. As for the rest, well we certainly added experience and some numbers, so let’s see how it all pans out. Nothing has changed my mind that we’ll be closer to the top 6 than the bottom 6 in May (10 points and a game in hand on 6th at the time of writing - even after a horror run of form). The worry will be what happens in the summer, with owners/funding/etc, but we’ll have to cross that bridge when we get to it.
  4. I think JRC has a strong shout of making a CM position his own, but only when we have sufficient cover at RB.
  5. Who would/could have done better in the circumstances and with all of the restrictions he's had to work with? Genuine question.
  6. I was thinking that it would be the most Rovers thing to happen, in this scenario, for the lad to be holding up the halved shirt at some point today. If it does collapse due to the reasons we’ve all speculated since last night (and nobody comes in at all), I genuinely do think it’ll be the beginning of the end.
  7. Poor lad looks gutted.
  8. How you can point the finger at anyone other than the owners is quite bizarre. GB has been working with both arms tied behind his back. And now both legs have been chopped off tonight.
  9. Probably more suited to a Channel 4 Despatches episode.
  10. Sheff U managed it with the Anel lad last season - only ended up paying for him once they have Prem money.
  11. Likewise with GB - if things collapse due to influence outside of his control, I can't see him not walking.
  12. You're probably right, but it's the hope that kills you.
  13. The window closes at 11pm on Thursday night, not tonight.
  14. Yeah, agreed - thought the same after I'd posted that. Very, very strange thing to do. Even by Rovers' standards. *Edit - if it's true, obviously.
  15. You can only hope that it means we have someone better lined up...
  16. I'll never not read 'USMNT' as 'United States Mutant Ninja Turtle'.
  17. As I walked to the ground, about 15-20 mins from KO, a few of their coaches were just arriving on Bolton Road. Suspect caught in traffic en route.
  18. Really enjoyable evening tonight, glad I went - and over 18k on the gate is pretty exceptional for a wet Monday evening cup game, against League 2 opposition. I'd be repeating what most have already said about who performed well, but I did think Dolan looked very good in the first half in particular. Good to see Sonny get his first for the club also. Into the last 16 we go.
  19. I remember having some dialogue with Dan Williams around the time he was sniffing around the club. Genuinely can't remember why it didn't work out, but he seemed a decent enough chap and was certainly interested.
  20. I mean, most of us expected no signings, so technically that's an improvement...?
  21. Alright with that, saw him play a few times for Liverpool and he never looked out of place. Isn't a downgrade on Hill, imo. Let's see if that final piece (or two) of the 'absolute minimum requirements' jigsaw falls into place in the next few days.
  22. Cheers for that, saved me turning up tomorrow... 🤦‍♂️
  23. Just bought mine and the little lad's tickets for tomorrow - JW looks ok, Blackburn End not great and Walkersteel sparse. Hopefully we'll see some 'on the day' sales, but otherwise 15k/16k based on current sales.
  24. Don't forget signing fees (new contracts) and bonuses. His most recent contract would have come with a very chunky signing-on fee.
