Completely agree. We're past the point of different opinions or takes; he's clearly not competent enough and is actively costing us goals & games. -

If Ismael starts with Pears again in this one, it shows that he either has no bollocks or no functioning eyes. And if he does, we'll lose again. -

So I coach at youth level and I occasionally do some bits with the GKs. One of the absolute basics is keeping the core of your body behind the ball and, when catching, bring the ball into your core. Pears demonstrates neither of those traits. And I'd like to say that it's an isolated clip of his lack of basic competence...but we all know it's not. -

This, plus target Pears - as they did mercilessly, throughout the game. JE knows better than anybody how much of a weak point Pears is and took full advantage. -
All had scouted him and were interested - as well as some foreign clubs (eg Dortmund). Palace were just the quickest to move for him. He's clearly been destined for the top for some time and, in fairness, Palace has been a good stepping stone for him to get Premier League exposure.

This is something that I still can't get my head around. From memory, TK let a few soft ones in and then sat out a few games due to injury. But he was, is and always will be several grades better than Pears and should have gone straight back in as our number 1. I'm not one for the conspiracy theories, but it makes you wonder how such a deep and consistent level of incompetence is allowed to carry on week in, week out. Pears is literally costing us goals and games, as recently as yesterday. -

I've been saying this for a while - Michalski is an England Youth GK and has impressed me the few times I've watched him. The alternative is either sticking with Calamity Pears, costing us a goal or two a game, or giving Toth a prelonged run to show what he can do. It's mind blowing that any manager with functioning eyes would actively put Pears in the first team. -

Honestly, any alternative is better than Pears at this stage. I'd even take Alan Fettis *shudder*. -

It's clear to everyone that he's an absolute liability - and is costing us games on a regular basis. Opposition managers are obviously targeting him as our weak point. This season isn't far from being written off now, so just drop him and put either Toth or Michalski in. -

I can only assume that Pears' Mum peruses this site, as he was on a rating of c2.5 the last time I checked. 1.5 points above what you'd expect. We'll see if VI has any bollocks for the next match. Address the clear weak point in the team, or just keep ignoring it (and watching the opposition take advantage every game). -

He was one of our better players, for sure - even in a 20-30 minute cameo. -

Fuck off. Dreadful. Woeful. Lost after 3 minutes, when Pears dropped yet another clanger. Considering how bad Derby are - and were today - that is absolutely embarrassing. -

Yeah, I didn't think Dolan had a bad half, to be fair. Gueye's goal gives us a chance of taking something in a game which Pears tried to throw away in the opening minutes. But, sadly, we know by now that he's got at least another couple of errors in him for the second half. We'll get to 2-2, but ol' shitbiscuit in goal will gift them a late one. -

Honestly, you'd be a bit of a simpleton to be backing Pears at this stage. Consistently incompetent, gifts goals and costs us games. Play Michalski if Toth isn't much better. -

Pears strikes again. He should not be playing for us. That mistake has likely cost us the game after 3 minutes. -

Genuinely recognise 1 or 2 of that Derby team, whereas (barring Pears) we have a strong side out. Don't give them anything early and we should win this quite comfortably. Also, no Nyambe, thankfully. -

Andy replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I'm going to be completely honest, I stuck a fiver on Nyambe to be the scorer in a 0-1 defeat. It's 140/1 if anyone fancies backing the inevitable. -
It's more a concern of the huge YoY increase in his salary & pension conts. This leads to questions around a conflict of interests and how he/the directors are incentivised.

So it's seemingly likely that Waggott has sacrificed our opportunity to get promoted for his own financial gain. I'd like to say I'm surprised or shocked. This must be addressed, at whichever fan forum comes next, no excuses.

Derby are shit and it's one that we should be winning. But the most Rovers thing imaginable will be a 1-0 Derby win, with Ryan Nyambe scoring his first ever goal, deep into injury time. We know from experience that Eustace will go into this home game with a negative 'just don't lose' mentality, so the best plan is to keep it tight and don't give away any soft opportunities for them. If we can do this, our (relative) quality will eventually show. -

Agree with this, certainly on Garrett. I know a few don't rate him on here, but I started seeing more from him last year - he was more of a box-to-box player (as opposed to a disruptor) and chipped in with a few goals. This season should have been the one where he got more game time to see how he develops. -

Agreed. It's no coincidence that we improved when Tronstadt came on. Also agree on a couple of posts on Dolan. Today he was effectively a disadvantage to us; did more to break up our attacks than any Norwich player. -

Despite being skinny and shit, I'll die on the hill that Wahlsted has a much higher ceiling than Pears. Ismael seems a bright chap, I'm sure it won't take him long to figure out the glaring weakness in our first team. -

Might be onto something there. I was hooked as soon as JDT flashed a cheeky grin and said his first words. To be fair, are there less seductive tones than a Brummie accent? Possibly Scouse and Cockney a close joint-second.
