  1. The season where he'd scored 20 goals by Xmas, he was excellent (well, first half of the season anyway). It would have been crazy to sell him under Venky's asking price at that point. Nobody knew that he would revert back to Brereton for the majority of his time after that point. If we'd sold him at that time, it would have completely derailed our potential promotion push.
  2. Sigurdsson wasn't poor yesterday. Even if he's contributing 2 goals and literally nothing else, he's had a good game.
  3. You would like to think that every waking hour of Broughton's life is focussed on bringing in a decent striker for us in Jan...
  4. We lined up with traditional full backs today for the first time in a long time (as opposed to inverted fullbacks). And it worked a treat. Thought Pickering was solid and Hill was one of today's better performers - looks a real talent.
  5. Yeah, that was my exact thoughts just after his 2nd goal today - hopefully it's not a fleeting spell with us. Pleased for Leo to keep a clean sheet and I thought both Hill and Trondstad were both excellent today.
  6. Hard to argue that our summer business wasn't positive based on today's performance - and the players who contributed most.
  7. Regarding the midfield, hopefully today has proven the importance of having a proper deep/holding midfielder. Wharton is exceptionally gifted, but needs to be playing further up the field.
  8. Strange post. We've been dropping points despite playing (on the whole) some very nice football this season. We've finally turned someone over, as we've been threatening to do. There's as much reason for optimism as there is pessimism at this moment in time, whilst the team is settling and gelling.
  9. We played well and made them look awful in doing so.
  10. Was a goal out, but I’ll take it. Lets hope I’m right on the bottom bit.
  11. Only fair to mention that Dolan was better today, as he was at Coventry also. Nobody enjoys seeing one of our own players struggling, so good to see the improvement.
  12. I think Brittain at LB, playing the inverted role and a fit Ennis up top and that is a very strong side for this level.
  13. Disagree - two well worked goals from our perspective. We’ve also been solid enough at the back. Very good first half.
  14. Wahlsted, Tronstad, Hill and Sigurdsson all having very good halves. Maybe the summer window wasn’t as bad as we like to make out, after all.
  15. What would be the point in lying? Hill and Trondstad have been very good this half. Well taken goals, Siggy scoring again 👍🏻
  16. That’s the spirit 🙄
  17. Get the fuck in. About time the results started following the performances. Lets really turn them over now.
  18. Result to come with the performance this time. QPR 0 v 3 Rovers. Start of a run of form.
  19. I don't think he will. I think results will start to follow the performances, starting at QPR.
  20. Coventry have been poor because we’ve made them look poor. Lets not be kidding ourselves.
  21. Yep, even a half competent striker in that side scores at least 2 in that half alone. We do play some nice football, and have done all season. Missed chances and conceding daft goals has been the story so far. But I’ll remain optimistic. I predicted we’d dick these before KO, not seen anything to change my mind.
  22. Moran was hit in the bollocks - not sure what’s that’s got to do with training 🤣 Anyway, very good first half. Dolan surprisingly good, Wharton looked better. Hill looked decent and Brittain again really good. Once again, we need to make it count, but the game is ours to win. Also Wahlstedt not being Pears is an immediate upgrade.
  23. Whilst you're not wrong, I don't think there's any disputing that we've played well in the vast majority of those games. Results are the important bit, but we can't ignore the performances.
  24. We've been playing well and due to turn somebody over. It'll be tomorrow. Rovers 4-0 Coventry.
