  1. Should be 3-3. Or 3-1 if Pears hadn’t been playing.
  2. Dolan? Just what we need, that.
  3. We are making Ipswich Town look like prime Barcelona. Ipswich fucking Town.
  4. Not sure about that. He was lightweight, had no control and couldn’t even score from the penalty spot. He’s already done more today than he did for the whole time with us.
  5. That is Pears again. Far too slow, we can’t carry on like this.
  6. Yep, Pears is now actively costing us points. Fuck off.
  7. Going to be a big player for us this season, worth waiting for. Also felt that Pears should have done better for their goal at first glance.
  8. Ipswich, like Plymouth, are riding the wave of promotion momentum - we did the same thing early in our first season back. It will level out over the season, as it almost always does. I think, performance wise, we’ve been amongst the best in the division so far - and the stats support that, but results haven’t gone our way. We’re due to spank somebody, so no better time than today. Ipswich 0 - 4 Rovers.
  9. Sticking with fag packet numbers. Rather than having an empty stand, sell seats for £2/£3 each. Kids for a quid. Adds thousands onto the gate, better atmosphere (which helps the team), footfall spend, etc, etc. I’ll say it til I’m blue in the face. A full stadium is always, always, always better than a third/half full stadium. If I ran the club, this would be my absolute number 1 priority.
  10. I'm keen to see what Semir can do with a longer spell on the pitch. Been quietly impressed with what I've seen so far - he looks quick enough, strong and very direct.
  11. Someone's going to take a whipping from us soon, hopefully it's Ipswich. I do think we'll win either way. I suspect JDT was saving Semir for the weekend - unleash him and the new GK, possibly even a glimpse of Sigurdsson.
  12. Not sure what's going on with him, but he's been awful - last night was the worst of the lot. Got the ball, did nothing, then lost the ball and we're under pressure. Markanday looked ten times better and he wasn't particularly great. If he's not able to pull himself out of whatever he's struggling with, we need to sell in Jan. You can't tell me that Gilsanen would have been a worse option last night.
  13. He was annoyed with himself, that was the reaction. It wasn't petulance towards anyone/anywhere else, just internal frustration.
  14. I was right in front of this, 2nd row of the JW, by the Blackburn End and I honestly found the opposite. Well, from the wrong players. Brittain was sticking it into the top corner pretty much every shot. Both Whartons showed good finishing as well. The forwards didn't fare as well, Leonard in particular wasn't getting much on his shots and they were easy saves for the GK.
  15. We didn’t - he’ll be our first choice for years, but for some reason Pears hasn’t been dropped yet. I was sat in line with where their 2nd was hit from, haven’t seen it back but it felt a soft one to concede. There were a lot of positives, but it’s hard to really take any pleasure from them when you’ve been beaten 1-3. Also, Dolan really needs to not play for the first team for a while.
  16. I'm not surprised to see either Southampton or Leeds struggle, it's a very tough transition from Prem to Championship. Predicted both would struggle to finish top 6, pre season.
  17. It started before then - the Trust were neglecting the club long before the incumbents got their hands on the club.
  18. I think that's harsh - Leonard's pass wasn't the best (too far ahead), he was on the angle and it was a difficult chance. Dolan's 2 however, I'd have genuinely scored either/both. I think Telalovic will score if he gets the chances.
  19. Throw him in (Telalovic). He can finish, so lets create chances for him and see what happens. Is he missing either of those absolute sitters than Dolan had at the weekend? Is he balls.
  20. Szmodics works well in the 10 because he finds the space created by the players ahead of him. For example, the first goal against Boro doesn’t happen without Gallagher’s decoy run; he doesn’t have space to run into and shoot. Very difficult for him to create space for himself in the same way.
  21. My thinking with Hedges that, as a left footed player, he wouldn't have to constantly cut inside as he does on the right. With either SG or Telalovic in the middle, an early whipped cross wouldn't go amiss. But either way, Dolan shouldn't start on Weds.
  22. If anything dodgy was genuinely going on, it'd be picked up during annual audits. And would have been long before now.
  23. The first 6 months of JDT's reign were absolutely not terrible. They were inconsistent, which considering we were transitioning in style, as well as new players, should be expected. But the fact that we stuck around in the top 6 for almost the entire season is testament to how well he did.
  24. I expect us to win, because we're a decent side and we're at home. Play like we did for the first 60 minutes against Boro and we'll get a positive result. Dolan can't start this one, or at the very least in that position. Even switch Hedges and Dolan over if we must persist with him in current form. Pears keeps his place after Boro. Back line unchanged. I'd like a Tronstad or Garrett in a deep holding/BWM position, with Wharton further up the field.
  25. Wilcox was a vital part of the title winning side, alongside Ripley on the opposite flank. Anyone who 'didn't rate' him, were - quite frankly - wrong.
