The problem you get at Ewood is that, for anything other than the 2/3 standard chants, only half a dozen people join in - so it sounds awful. If you had 3 stands (or even just the Blackburn End) singing the Rhodes one, for example, it'd sound great. Creativity has never been our fans' strong point, in fairness.

I never knew him, but my thoughts are with his family. In John and Warren, the Rovers family have lost two big personalities in the last week.

Rest in peace mate. Top, top bloke.

[Archived] News Article -> RFS - New shirt Sponsor
Andy replied to Tom's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
I like the look of it. Not keen on shirts without sponsors. Just looks incomplete and amateurish. -
A nice write up in today's Telegraph and lots of action pics at www.kipax.com

Finished 6 vs 1 to the home side, a great night of footy and hopefully lots of money raised for a worthy cause. Should have been 6-0, but a rare mistake from Big Col gifted them a goal and took away my clean sheet

I'll be there, such a worthy and worthwhile cause. Let's hope a good crowd turn up and raise plenty of money for BLESMA.

I know the man was certainly connected. I once posted a snippet of 'insider' information, back when I had a decent information source at the club and Kelbo PM'd me to both confirm what I'd been told and who had told him (which linked in with who told me). I had a good few PM conversations with him about various things. Top man.

I'd like to echo this. RIP mate.

Didn't Tarantino do Kill Bill? I really enjoyed those two films. Me and Mrs Andy are going to go and watch Wreck-It Ralph next week, looking forward to that a lot.

I must admit, I do find the slaughter process of Halal meat to be disgraceful and for that reason, I will try to avoid it where possible. We're in 2013, not 34BC and shouldn't be causing unneccessary stress and distress to the animals when there are devices such as stunners and pitters around. I couldn't care less if Halal was related to Islam, Judiasm or Christianity, it's just wrong.

Strange comment. If a player is not performing then the fans are absolutely right to 'harrass' them.
-
You're absolutely right - as far I know, people are just assuming that Gary suffered from depression, but there are a number of reasons why somebody might opt to take their own life. Doesn't stop it from being extremely sad, of course.
-
To be fair, we don't know if Gary had a mental health issue, if he was depressed or whatever. A lot of people are assuming that he suffered from depression, though he may have killed himself for a number of reasons. As per Tom's post, I've heard a number of rumours/theories as to the reason Gary chose to commit suicide, though I agree that it would be in bad taste to discuss these - particularly so shortly after his death.
-
Sad news and such a shame for all involved. I always think that you have to be in a very disturbed state of mind to even consider suicide, so who knows what's been going on in his personal life for this to happen. Genuine Prem legend though.

Only just seen this - disgraceful if true. Jensen has quite obviously been part of the problem, but to make him the scapegoat to save his own neck shows what a callous, lying little toad Kean is. I actually dislike the weasel more now than I did 5 minutes ago.

If it's Jensen's choice, who can blame him? He may link up with Laudrup again, now that Laudrup is a free agent and won't be short of offers. Plus, if he knows that Kean isn't about to be sacked anytime soon, why stay on a blatently sinking ship? If it's a club decision then why just remove the assistant manager? Even if they replace him with an experienced number 2, which shows that they're willing to make some changes, why not make the change that needs making and get rid of the real problem (Kean)?
-
Under normal circumstances I wouldn't touch O'Leary with a barge pole, but as an alternative to Kean, he sounds like a Godsend.

Rafa has been banging them in for Livingston up in Scotland for a couple of years, so it's a good move for him. Also playing under his idol there (Di Canio).
