  1. I see the predictions were correct and the only change was taa for Gallagher. 🙄. Russia 2018 fucked us over I reckon. He played this 2 defensive midfielders system due to the players we had then. Because it worked better than expected he’s just not been able to let it go. Even with better more attack minded players.
  2. Think Austria might join the ever growing ranks of teams England would not beat without significant improvement
  3. I thought if ended up it that bit of the draw by winning it would be Italy not Croatia. Either way looking good again
  4. That was my all time favourite last minute England goal assuming meant Belgium. Other notable ones Beckham vs Greece, dier vs Germany and Owen v Argentina winners (friendlies admittedly).
  5. Can’t say I’ve given it a massive amount of thought but I’d say the going rate for a championship shirt sponsor would be north of 500k a season. I’m sure someone will tell me. I would have no problem with a betting company just like when had bet 24, a lager company, or a plastics company. I couldn’t give toss what they do it’s more what there’re likely to stump up. It’s why I wasn’t fond of the vaping lot, nothing to do with vaping more they’re probably not paying much. I’m sure these lawyers narrowly pipped mrs smiths florist to the deal. I believe they threw in a large box of krispy kremes whereas mrs smith only bought a home made apple pie to sweeten the deal. Swag was just in doughnut mood at the time, being one himself.
  6. With all this talk of players I think people are missing the bigger picture. What’s the situation with the team bus? Is it state of the art, are we leasing it again but claiming we bought it.
  7. Embarrassing that we can’t get proper sponsors. I’d expect Mill Hill fc to get a deal with a local firm of lawyers. A not surprising lack of imagination for a useless club. “OUR BIGGEST DEAL SINCE 2012” I’m also calling bullshit with that claim as well. Unless there has been such gross incompetence in generating sponsorship money for over a decade. Which wouldn’t surprise me thinking about it.
  8. Yeah. Even though rovers won’t be looking at players anywhere near the euros, well not unless Malta, Gibraltar, San Marino, etc are hosting their own. It’s the perfect excuse to do nothing until mid July, then it’ll be we’ve had our hands full in Austria, followed by it’s August and the season has started what do you expect. Then we’ll get in some desperados no one has ever heard of on deadline day.
  9. I think nob end are off to Alicante. That’s a nice little cheap destination for a summer weekend break. Think they might be playing Fiorentina out there as well. Sure they went to Tenerife once as well. Meanwhile off to Accrington for rovers.
  10. The sum is always greater than the component parts. With England it is always the reverse. That’s across different eras and managers. It’s very frustrating
  11. Robertson, mcginn and mctominay aside the rest are quite literally championship quality players with most of them playing in the championship. Even those 3 wouldn’t make an England 5th xi. In a way it’s remarkable how well they do with the players they have.
  12. From what I’ve seen the teams that would defo beat England on our current form: Germany, France, Spain, Portugal and Holland. Teams that would fancy their chances but reckon we should beat: Italy and Belgium. England are still 3rd favourite with the bookies. 🤷‍♂️. I don’t know if that’s because people betting here back their own team and tumble the odds. I’d like to see how foreign bookies view our chances but I’m not seeing how be beat any of those 5. Let alone a couple of them.
  13. I don’t even view England vs Scotland as a rivalry. It’d be like if Accrington Stanley wanted one with rovers. Geography ✅ but in every other way bigger fish to fry. I certainly don’t like them mainly due to their fans and the whole support everyone who’s playing England stuff. But by and large they’re nothing. Mates of mine often root for the home nations which I find odd but that unrequited hatred does ironically seem to rile them up more.
  14. I’m sure it comes down to the fact these players are winners for their clubs and they can see themselves winning this having got close 4 years ago. Whether this meeting happened or not they must know the manager is a weak link. No doubt we’ll have to wait a couple of decades for an autobiography and one of them to say it. At which point everyone will say I knew it. Much like in 2004-2006 when everyone suspected they didn’t give a toss about England and couldn’t get over club rivalries.
  15. Hopefully some good can come out of it. We are definitely a top side, ludicrous to be anywhere near bookies favourites, but could still win it as one of the top group of 4-6 teams. As well as the bottle job mindset I think part of the problem is we’re not nearly as good as they think they are. If the past 2 performances focus their minds all for the better. However, it’ll all be in vein if the manager keeps selecting the wrong players in the wrong positions and making his trademark wet lettuce substitutions.
  16. If I was the referee I’d insist he was substituted and taken immediately to hospital. No one in that amount of pain could possibly be expected to play football.
  17. To this day I maintain in isolation Southgate has only ever had one decent win managing England. Beating Germany in 2020. One game. Qualifiers and friendlies are mostly vs comedy sides. Had good results like beating Italy and poor results like Macedonia but there’s no jeopardy any more so all largely pointless. In main tournaments. 2018 - you’d expect us to lose to that Belgium side which we duely did twice but you’d expect us to beat Tunisia, Panama, Colombia, Sweden and Croatia but of course obviously lost to Croatia. 2020 - you'd expect us to beat Czech Republic, Croatia, Scotland, Ukraine, Denmark and did except a draw vs Scotland. Germany (a poor Germany) there is his only decent win then Italy at home was at worst 50:50 probably edged it but bottled it again. 2022 - you’d expect us to beat USA, wales and Senegal of course did beat them expect for another poor draw vs USA but lost to first decent oppo in france. 2024 - already dropping points but the one constant will be out as soon as get a decent side we’re gone. Dropping points is all part and parcel of it. It’s how you bounce back but not once, other than Germany in my opinion, have we won a game when the quality has been remotely equal. Always lost. Belgium, Croatia, France, Italy and whoever we get in this one.
  18. The more I watch of this tournament the more disheartened I’m becoming. Thought had a decent chance going in. The French still head and shoulders above us albeit not their best start, but the more I see of zee Germans particularly at home, the Spanish, the Dutch they’re all better than us. Then there’s hoping the Portuguese, Italians and belgium don’t grow into the tournament. I feel a lot like how I did during Mowbray’s last season around Xmas. Comfortably in the play offs but most of us knew it was going to end in a run of results that resulted in us dropping like a stone and out totally. Same thing here the first time we come across one of the above we’re out. Again it’s square pegs and round holes and a manager to arrogant or stupid to see it.
  19. Before my time but wasn’t jimmy greaves not selected for that reason. 🤷‍♂️. I don’t know maybe he was injured but surely the better bet than hurst in the final.
  20. If it was announced he was leaving England after this tournament (hopefully during it) and taking over at rovers I’d be unimpressed with my rovers hat on.
  21. I think the biro ran out of ink and couldn’t find another one.
  22. They tried but the printer ran out of ink so they just left it and will see who’s the first and lowest bidder to offload him.
