I don't think you can just do that or everyone who ever wanted to leave a contract would just resign and then sign with someone else.

Doubt there would be a big loophole like that to enable clubs to wriggle out of paying compensation. Unless Derek Shaw was involved in drawing up the contract, obviously.

    Yer that makes sense.

What benefit does he get from resigning then?

We have to play both Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday away. Defeats in those games could be fatal, wins could keep us up.

The next month is going to be a fascinating watch. We have a set of fixtures that are tough by any measure, our record this season shows we struggle to get results against the better sides and rely on individual quality to dispatch the poorer sides.

I don't think it is unlikely that we go through March without winning. By the time April arrives we could be looking at 0 wins in 12 games and if we were to even go as far as to lose them all it would be 11 defeats in 12 games.

I expect we will eke out a couple of points here and there. Millwall away and Brentford at home are my predictions.

Get through to April and it doesn't look much easier - away games at Wycombe and Sheffield Wed could decide our fate but other tough fixtures away at Cardiff and home v Bournemouth and Derby. I don't think there's any point even kicking off against Bournemouth because they were in the Premier League last year and spent money so we've no chance.

Another reason to get rid of Mowbray ASAP, always bigging up everyone else and putting Rovers down, trying to downplay expectations so he can push massive achievements if he ever manages to get a win (against anyone at this rate)

Losers mentality and it shows through in his management.

Yes that was my target for us, 3 wins of which I thought Coventry would be one, Wycombe and Rotherham the other two. It wasn't good enough last time but this time I struggle to see the bottom 3 or 4 teams getting anywhere near 50 points. Not a defence of TM, just to be clear, it's shocking we are having to discuss this.

I hear and share your concerns. Agree we look very unlikely to win and an absolute shower on current performances. No arguments on how bad we are.

That said it is a minimum of 3 wins for Rotherham and Wednesday to catch us up, 4 to overtake us. They aren't getting masses of wins, so can't see them catching up anytime soon. Let's say these two teams have a win rate of 1 in 4, with 15-ish games to go that means it will run out of games before they can overtake us. If they get a 1 in 3 run, then it takes about a dozen games to overtake us. In this scenario 1 more win for us, or a number of draws, would see them run out of games. Being honest I can't see us winning more than a couple of games, but I can't see Rotherham or Wednesday having a better than 1 in 3 record. And even a number of draws for us makes it more difficult for them to overtake us.

So yeah it's come to the crapness of the opposition and them running out of games to keep us safe. Were we talking in December or Jan I would have a different view. End of Feb with the gap we have though - it's asking a lot of Rotherham and Wednesday to overtake us.

Aye you're probably correct. Let's hope so anyway.

If it is wasn't for sheff weds points deduction, we could very well be heading back to league one.

I can see that 11 points being eaten up pretty rapidly after the next few games of 0 points.

Appreciate the stability Mowbray brought to the club with the promotion and behind the scenes work, so I get where you are coming from there, but our performances have been wretched for the last year and a half asides from a month or two at the beginning of this season. I don't see how he deserves more time with it

Considering our March points haul will likely reflect February's, i can see that 11 point gap reducing pretty quickly.

It's been a tried and tested formula under Venkys. (And a failed one too on occasions...) That said in this case I think the bottom 3 are looking sunk. It's a hell of a swing needed and yesterday's mighty point actually took us a point further away from relegation, so still very confident we won't go down. Agree it's a shambles we are relying on this.

My concern is that we only have 2/3 wins more than Rotherham and Sheff wed, Rotherham have a game in hand on us as well. So they are both winning as many games as us, but now we've stopped winning all together. They will still pick up wins  whilst we probably won't.

I can't see where our next win is coming from under Mowbray, this death spiral isnt ending and is probably the worst one I can remember.

Its a very real possibility that we won't win a game in march.

  6. March fixtures:

    Reading (away)

    Millwall (away)

    Swansea (home)

    Brentford (home)

    Bristol City (home)

    Norwich (away)

Even after that we have Wycombe but then Bournemouth and then Derby. How many wins can we see from this? Not many, if any.

As it stands we have 40 points, Rotherham (29), Sheff wed (28) & Wycombe (23) make up the bottom 3. Will any of those overtake us? The other teams in and around the bottom 3 have at least 34 points. Only 2 wins off us (or less)

We might just be relying on the bottom 3 picking up too few points to keep us up here.

    Shambles.

I am not sure that Mowbray even with Maggott's support and, alleged, threats to walk himself, will be able to blag his way out of what is going to happen in March's fixtures.

Barring a miraculous improvement we are in for a hard time and I expect us to finish the month around 18th position.

If that doesn't finish off the most boring man in the world nothing will.

Even the FBFC* may turn on him.

March is going to be a real struggle. It's a serious concern that we could very well come out of it without a point.

  8. I can't believe we are back to this shit.

A clearly failing manager, horrible performances, abysmal points return and Venkys refusing to pull the trigger.

There is nothing more frustrating than seeing a situation and being totally helpless to change it.

They let K**n relegate us and there was nothing we could do, their refusal to sack him drove me insane.

Same thing again, he's never turning this around, he needs to be replaced.

    Would he even notice tho?

And getting it trending on Twitter is going to do nothing.

The decision was by made by the owners not Pasha

I dunno, worth a shot though I guess?

I thought he was the only one they listened too? Apart from whichever agency is bending them over at the time.
