Deal agreed according to SSN, medical this week.
They always knew he'd be leaving tbf. Just depends on who his replacement is.

Pope to Newcastle seems to be on the cards.

Darragh out, Van Hecke in on a permanent!
As a starter for 10, that would do me!
If Carlsberg did transfers.

Nixon saying Burnley are in for Scott Twine at £4m along with Hull but could both miss out after a late move from another unnamed club .
Please God let it be us
Possibly but unlikely I think.
The model they are trying to achieve is to buy players for low fees and sell them in a season or 2 for a lot more than we paid.
Assume it's driven by stats/data etc.
Twine probably falls into that category (ish), £4m isn't a massive amount for a transfer these days and you would hope at 22, he'd develop further and we'd be selling for more than we've paid down the line but I'd say it's still too much for us at this stage of the process.
A BBD sale might have changed that but it looks like that would be coming too late.

The chances of us investing heavily this summer are minimal, so Dolan will be needed in the squad you would think.
Although I've said previously that I don't rate him that much, worth giving him a fresh start under the new regime.
£3m, if it was to be invested back in could get a replacement but chances are, it won't be.

We won't be loaning Cantwell if he only has 12months left.
At best it would be a loan with an obligation to buy in January but still doesn't seem worth it.
If Norwich want shut of him they'll be selling him, even for a couple of mill. Makes no sense to loan for a smaller fee and let him walk away for free at the end of the season.

Ryan Giles supposedly off to Boro on loan (is there anyone they’re not getting?).
Just didn’t happen for him here, but Mowbray had a big part to play in that.
Think he could have been a decent player for us but Mowbray obviously shunted him around a bit and he joined us going into one of the long death spirals.
So up against it from the off.

See Blackpool fans are not too enamoured with Appleton as new manager 😀
Apparently Rosenoir turned them down cos he had to work with existing staff. Where’ve I heard that recently?
It's certainly not gone down well on twitter.

JDT: "I got a message from one of the owners this morning and I have spoken with Suhail, as well as Steve and Gregg."
Sounds like he didn't have to do the usual tap dance for the owners, which could be a good sign?
Wonder if they are just hands off these days?
They just left Mowbray to run his contract down, no intention of sacking him despite taking us on a horrific run at the end of the last 2 seasons.
Wouldn't be surprised if they just have discussions about budgets and leave the rest to "implement their vision".
Basically means JDT could be horrific and they wouldn't sack him, though.

It would be on a par with, Celtic finishing third for two seasons, when Rangers had been demoted to the third division.
That's quite an underachievement then.
Let's hope he continues to do poorly in his immediate managerial career!

I’m seeing some praise from Burnley fans, so we must have a decent appointment for them ru be acknowledging it.
Still a few halfwits asking who he is, when his managerial record is more impressive than Kompanys, both young and both have incredible cvs as players.
It's an interesting question tbf.
Obviously being biased, JDT is the better appointment!
But Kompany strikes me as the sort of bloke with a driven, ambitious, winning mindset. He only retired from playing a couple of years ago and should have taken a hell of a lot away from his time working with Pep. On the face of it, seems like it should be a decent appointment.
Can't profess to knowing much about Anderlecht and if two 3rd place finishes are anything to write home about?

It's great to see, in the main, the club awash with positivity over this appointment.
I wasn't totally sold on JDT getting the job previously, and of course the proof will be in the pudding BUT he come across really well in his interview and looks like he'll bring some passion and energy to the role.
He needs to back that up with results obviously but he's well aware of that by the sounds of it.
Taking the positive route on this and now really looking forward to the summer business and the start of the season.

If Burnley end up bringing in palmer, delap and mcatee in from city 🤢. I think we've got the better/more experienced coach but kompany has the better footballing connections unfortunately. Can't wait to see how it all pans out next season.
Yeah, you'd imagine he'll have his pick of Man City loans.

The jealousy of PNE and Burnley fans is creeping out.
I saw one post of a Burnley fan claiming JDT hasn't managed in England before. Two hours after Kompany was announced for them 🙄
PNE fans posting, who is he? PNE managers greatest footballing accomplishment?
L1 runner up 🤣 🤣 🤣
Dingles saying the same thing.
"Don't even know who that guy is?"
"Everyone knows Kompany, had to Google your bloke"

Could Darragh Lenihan yet stay with this new appointment or is he off to Boro?
Sharpe seems to be under the impression he's signed for Boro, just waiting to announce it.

Dack/Dolan supporting BBD, or Galagher once the former leaves
then we just sign Wilcox and Ripley up
That's the only place Dack could probably play but he isn't going to be chasing down players to same level as Dolan.
Gallagher isn't exactly mobile either tbh.

JDT’s style of play4-4-2 With the attackers chasing down the ball.
Where/how is he going to fit Dack into that?

I see Lowe has managed to cling on.
As he's mentioned in the article, I doubt he'll be going anywhere anytime soon.

Yeah looks weird seeing him in a Boro kit.
We need to get a couple of signings through the door sharpish really.
