[Archived] Good Or Bad - POLL
SuperStella replied to Cocker's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
If only Rovers had listened to me in the first place! I said MONTHS ago we should have gone for him. We definately need someone to create goals and not scared of shooting from outside the box rather than just walk it in. Lets hope this kind of signing is a sign of things to come with Hughes instead of signing garbage on loan e.g. Andresen, Baggio etc like Magnum (Souness) did. -

Absolute, complete and utter JOKE!! I think Hughes will now know how bad we really are. He will be seriously concerned. Like damo gally says - he will now know NEVER to play Johannsen, Gresko or De Pedro EVER again. Absolutely abysmal What on earth where them pens all about??? ffs!! Tugay's landed on row 30 and Stead nearly hit the fookin riverside! Roll on Charlton (eeeek) -
Why the (Please don't use that word again) should they get free tickets?

I've just read the board rules so decided not to comment on the above.

from L.E.T. Former Birmingham City coach Mark Bowen and current Arsenal reserve team manager Eddie Niedzwiecki have both been lined up for roles in Hughes's backroom staff. -

Fantastic appointment. Credit must go to the board, especially John Williams for getting their man. He was first choice and I feel Rovers have gone about getting him in the right way... approached Wales correctly and no hard feelings. I know he hasn't managed at Premiership level before but he has shown his managerial skills as an internaional manager turning the fate of Welsh football round. He seems to earn the respect of the players too which can only be a good thing.. I think he will do a good job at rovers.... After he kicks a few players, who are under-performing into touch. Roll on Saturday! -
I would welcome Mark Hughes to Rovers. He wore his heart on his sleeve as a player - its about time some of our players were taught how to do the same before we get relegated.

I've heard off the cleaner at work that Fergie has applied. He has been looking at houses on Balaclava Street.

Advocaat fell out with Amo and Tugay at Rangers -
I've heard off my cat that Wenger is going to take over. Apparantely he has a bizarre pie fetish and the close proximity to 'Leavers of Ewood' made his mind up. (Thought I might as well talk b*llocks too as everyone else seems to be)
-
He has just upped sticks from Glasgow to Blackburn though? Surely he wouldnt want to move his wife and kids back up the road again?
-
My choice would be Hughes, followed by Strachan & Paul Jewell. However, I wouldnt want Hughes managing Wales & Rovers... it would be a disaster. You just cant juggle a high profile premiership job and a national job. Even Peter Taylor is struggling at Hull.. they have been rubbish since he took over under 21's too. They lost 4-0 to Huddersfield on Sunday and he wasnt even there to see it.. he was with England. I know we wouldnt have a game but time spent looking at players for Wales could be used at rovers. Tough choice really.

I don’t agree Bryan… Souness came out and said he wanted to keep Yorke at Rovers. Why has he not given Jansen same chance? Anyway, question: How many loan signings that Souness has made been any good? Answer: NONE e.g. Dino 'stand in the centre circle and watch' Baggio & Martin 'scared of tackling but look like Becks so its ok' Andresen -

I just cant help thinking this is a panic buy from Souness who needed to replace Yorke. A few weeks ago Souness stated Yorke was staying... so whats changed? Last night in the L.E.T. he also said Jansen was fine physically and mentally - it was just a confidence thing with him. So, why has Souness not given him the same chance(s) as Yorke has had? Like on Saturday, with 10 mins left when Yorke came on - he did nothing. Surely Jansen would have run round a lot more and chased more balls down? How can we believe anything Souness says? -
