I can't say that I know if it has been business as usual, although he has done interviews with various people about what happened in January and what he wanted to do going forward, had he been sidelined back in February, he would have not been allowed/chosen to do such interviews in late March. I am just pretty confident that if you had actually heard something proper on Broughton's exit, that you would have not resorted to a cryptic post that you refused to take questions on. At a club like ours, it just caused more problems than benefits unfortunately, as we have seen.

I have not got a clue how you have come to that conclusion. I literally know no one who has anything positive to say about Waggott, whether in person, on here, social media or anywhere. Songs calling for Waggott to go are common place at Ewood, whereas there has never been anything about Broughton. I think this is solely in your head. Ultimately it's all down to Venkys. You are obviously correct about the contrarian view about him throwing a tantrum etc, he was right to leave and right to be so annoyed. But comparing Mowbray and Tomasson's time here is not like for like, the former inherited a team full of crap destined for League 1, the latter inherited a side that had just finished 8th and with more funds than we had for a few years to replace the 3 out of contract players. Both did good jobs but ultimately both were undermined by Venkys.

This idea that hiring GB was some sort of ploy to protect him seems a little far fetched, protect him from what? How does it protect him? And it certainly hasnt worked. I suspect either Broughton is being sacked due to a poor transfer record or much more likely amidst all these cut backs and having grown sick of Venkys hes had enough.

This Broughton news is only going to increase an influx of people supposedly hearing exactly what has gone on and professing their ITK knowledge.

Im sure that has happened, the owners were desperate to have a push at promotion (especially amidst this self inflictef court case) and spend some money but have bowed to the superior judgement of the CEO who wouldnt benefit from the pay rise he would almost certainly get if we somehow managed to get promoted at some point.

We would obviously do better with a proper CEO, 100%. Waggott is undoubtedly well out of his depth. But like any CEO, Director of football, manager or whatever, any change is somewhat insignificant in comparison to the owners. The people who are let go tend to be ones who challenge the owners and their running down of the club in any way. If we had a better CEO, we would almost certainly increase income for example. But that increase would pale into insignificance when the owners regularly sell owners and the money just vanishes. See Wharton, Armstrong, Rhodes, Cairney and Gestede as examples. A more proactive and competent CEO might bring in 500k more, a million more, even 2 million more. But it pales into insignificance. His job is safe until he personally decides otherwise because he doesnt kick up a fuss, he knows this job is the best he will get and he will pander to what the owners want.

Yeah, thats the more likely scenario. They probably wouldnt have refused to spend 2m on a signing with the proceeds had it not been an owner driven financial decision.

Why would he want to do that? Do you think it was idea to have no money to spend and having to sell players without reinvesting? Or more likely, its the owners as has been widely reported and was heightened due to the issues they caused buying Nevilles house leading to a court case.

You are suggesting that Venkys paying Waggott to "micromanage" us as if they deserve credit for it. Like theyve done their bit. Not that anyone is given any power to fully micromanage when big decisions need approval and are often declined and/or take ages to get a response. Hes clearly carrying out what they want him to do without complaining. Hes ambitionless and happy to stay in a role he wouldnt match elsewhere, so he happily goes along with their desires to slash budgets.

It would. And I am not underplaying how incompetent he is. We would still have the same owners, slashing the budget, causing huge delays in approving things/communicating for something to then that isnt a priority yet intervening at damaging times, and just going through incompetent staff even when we happily get rid of one. Weve had the likes of Shaw and Agnew too in his role. Waggott's worst "quality" is that he will align his actions around the owners wants, he is in a position that he couldnt better, hes comfortable and he wont challenge for better, as long as hes getting paid. He like Suhail is just a terrible symptom.
