  1. Its a massive issue, due to our terrible owners weve had to build a squad on bad foundations full of short term deals. Travis, Tronstad and Brittain have to be the priorities. Hyam also needs a year or two extra. Weimann and Batth should be evaluated in the summer. They are of an age where there wont be that much interest in them so see what physical state they are in then. Hedges I would be happy to move on. Dolan I wouldnt lose any sleep over leaving either although his age makes it a bit more of an issue. He clearly has no interest in signing anyway. Ribeiro also comes into this category, if he impresses then closer to the summer an extended deal could sort that position with him and Pickering for next season.
  2. Why dont you just do what everyone else does and share your opinion on the signings rather than go around just repeatedly implying that its just an echo chamber of negativity? I am no clearer as to what you think.
  3. Have you just come on to be the negativity police? Its not as if the post says everyone is shit and we are all doomed.
  4. It isnt "objectively" not a bad window. Its very much subjective.
  5. I dont get why anyone thinks that much will change if and when it is resolved.
  6. Still not convinced its been a particularly good window but there is a big element of wait and see with a mixture of unknown signings. It feels like a big question mark is expecting players to replicate form that they havent shown for a long time. Thr main issue is that its predominantly sticking plasters and short term fixes. Which January lends itself to but the problem here is weve brought in loads of money, have no real assets and have very flimsy foundations as you can see by the contract situation across the squad. The owners have again let us down with a piss poor budget and we have to hope that the recruitment has been as efficient as it could be under those circumstances. Our attack was clearly the biggest priority because we had a severe lack of pace and goals. Dennis and Woodrow have not had success for a number of seasons, the former had an unsuccessful return spell at Watford last season but otherwise has not really played for a while. Woodrow has been a squad player and has barely scored at all since his Barnsley days. Kargbo has come from Serie B where he struggled to replicate his Serie C form. Its hard to tell how many goals they are likely to get between them but hopefully we have a few useful options added to what we have, I do like Dennis as a player and I think him and Kargbo can at least give us a lot more pace which can hopefully also help to get more from the likes of Gueye and Cantwell. The midfield is a massive concern, the justification for signing Forshaw was to save resources but I would have happily not signed Woodrow if it meant getting a midfielder up to standard with Baker leaving. With Travis just back and Tronstad a month away, it leaves us with a big weakness as Buckley is not the answer and Forshaw certainly isnt. Defensively Ribiero is an interesting signing albeit a frustratingly short term one and was decent at Forest (again a while ago) so its good to have cover at left back. Sanderson has looked rash and over eager in his appearances but hopefully Carter will be back soon and he will become a 4th choice than unlike McFadzean we know has the ability to play in a back 4.
  7. If you dont agree with every signing or raise potential concerns, is that an issue?
  8. Obviously crap relative to the standard. Not a fan of the signing. Are any of the 4 we have signed and 2 we are trying to ones you arent too keen on? Out of interest. And I know we give them all a chance, judge when here etc.
  9. He wasnt anyway so doesnt count.
  10. Unless Pickering isnt registered if he is going to be out for the majority of the season.
  11. Woodrow is crap. Dennis was a good player, questions surround not playing for so long. Much happier with him. You?
  12. I wonder which player wont be registered if we dont fuck something up and get both.
  13. We are still short in midfield I agree. Woodrow is often more of a number 10 and Dennis is comfortable wide so I guess there is scope for more than 1 to start.
  14. Would Dennis mean you expect us to make the top 6? Do you have any concerns about the deal, or is it all positive? Lack of game time, not a prolific goalscorer? Do you have any concerns about how many of our players are on short term deals? Our wingers are a weak area so I was thinking at times if we had Kargbo and Dennis either side, we could still have Gueye (or Ohashi down the middle) and Cantwell behind and they are both dying for some pace to run in behind which theyd have. So you came in to mock those complaining but dont know about the player?
  15. If Dennis does sign, and its a big if with us, I still consider it a poor window overall. The owners again havent backed us and its a case of trying to cobble something together in spite of them. 4 of the 5 deals will be until the summer and even Kargbo isnt a long term deal I also do think there are downsides beyond it being another loan. He hasnt played for ages with his best form a long time ago and he has never been prolific. In terms of his ability though, he should add alot and give us a boost. He gives us more speed and he is flexible too so he could play from one of the sides with Gueye or Ohashi also still in the team. Its a better signing than I expected even if it is short term and not the goalscorer we crave.
  16. Ive repeatedly said that the job Eustace doing in spite of how the club is owned and run is very impressive. Hes not the one failing us again in this window.
  17. Has the Shankland rumour snowballed from random twitter posts?
  18. I never said 3 years, but if we rate him enough to sign him and him only being 28, surely we give him at least 1.5 if not 2.5 years knowing that Beck goes back in the summer. You speak as if im being unreasonably negative, but theres not much about how the club is run that doesnt warrant criticism, is there?
  19. Why have we signed a 28 year old on a free just until the end of the season?
  20. Nathan Jones, desperately trying to get that last day of attention for a few months despite knowing nothing.
  21. Hopes which will almost certainly not materialise.
  22. It has been rubbished by a few including their local reporter.
  23. How could Mafoumbi going out be relevant to anything? He will be on peanuts, hes nowhere near the first team, hes gone to the Belgian second division and he still takes an ESC slot as we hold his registration.
  24. Do you have a link? Hes crap so I hope not.
  25. I think you are thinking far too much into it.
