January Transfer window

If he has recurring back injuries, then he will struggle to realise any potential he has either way. Hes not Championship level at the moment and if fit im not convinced lending him to a Champipnship side (he isnt going to start over Colby Bishop) would be the wisest move. -

With 36 hours left, presumably weve had bids accepted and are getting players in to finalise? Nah, most likely sat waiting and hoping that Liverpool allow us to borrow a kid they have. -

What a dreadful window it would be if our new striker and final signing was just a kid on loan. -

What did Taarabt do that was similar? I dont think its something that can just be dismissed out of hand as one of those things. It brings up a number of potential issues as he not only holds these beliefs but he willingly makes himself unavailable for matches to push that across. -

No chance are we spending £3.6m on anyone. And we are getting to the stage where if he is our main target and it doesnt happen, we just wont get anyone in time. An issue no one else has touched on. But I think it is pride month and the club has a rainbow flag on social media behind the badge. I think its something the Championship promotes throughout the month. Mohamed clearly has some very strong and archaic views and has refused to play in matches in the past more than once. Would he just not play throughout February if he did sign? -

The official page has changed its picture to include a rainbow flag. That Egyptian striker playing in France certainly wouldnt be supportive of that based on his previous actions. -

It wasnt his fault, I agree. The one most at fault was Forshaw for losing the ball stupidly with a square pass. Why do you want a striker based on that logic when our current strikers got us to 5th? Interesting that you agree with what Eustace said. Did you think Portsmouth should have had a penalty against us the other week? -

Middlesbrough are signing Iling Junior on loan from Villa. Paid big money and loaned him to Bologna. They have some serious quality even with Latth leaving who no doubt will be replaced with someone for a big fee. -

Hatred? Stop being melodramatic. People are frustrated that we have replaced a player who was a decent 3rd choice in Baker with someone who Plymouth happily released because he wasnt good enough to make their team. Hes been poor so far for us. We are in a position where we need a push, and midfield is an area where our main 2 have both had injuries. Does an ambitious club replace a departing 3rd choice with a veteran to be "4th/5th choice?" You know it doesnt but you defend it and start talking about hatred. You have repeatedly shown a lack of standard. You keep saying things like "oh should we not sign anyone then" as a defence for not signing what we needed or wanted. You didnt seem too impressed with Kargbo last week and kept calling for a Championship experienced player. Now hes signed, no question marks whatsoever. You can say if its not what you wanted yet still "back" him and hope he does well. For every signing plucked from obscurity, there are 2 or 3 that didnt achieve anything. Obviously we might have plucked a hidden gem in Kargbo, lets hope so. Although we arent well protected with his short contract if he does. But the frustration is at the owners for again not seemingly backing us when we need it. -

I would be very underwhelmed if borrowing a striker with minimal experience was the route we go down. -

Its hard to predict I suppose and as you suggest the standard isnt great. Pickering I think is a solid left back at this level and is underappreciated. -

He got fortunate with really poor goalkeeping leading to the one that was thankfully offside v Oxford. You shouldnt be beat on that side from a free kick but the deflection that wasnt obvious on first viewing does change that somewhat. -

In attack, nothing springs to mind. He presumably did do one or two other bits and pieces but obviously I cant remember everything that he did. And his cross was a big contribution. He worked hard in general to get back into shape etc when we lost the ball. I dont think Hedges would have much interest at all. Championship wages, not at an age where he would have much value, injury history, and non existent attacking threat. A team would presumably gamble on Dolan as much for his age as anything. Being more productive than Hedges isnt a high bar though. I would agree that he is. -

Im not convinced that either Markanday or Garrett will ever be Championship standard. Maybe its about laying the foundations for a career away from here. -

Pissing around with low offers for Thomas Asante seems to have ended up with him becoming a goalscoring machine firing another rival into the play off race and leaving us likely to loan a striker at best instead. -

Nyambe was popular probably beyond his limited capabilities. I certainly dont think he was targetted in any way. Ive repeatedly acknowledged the good cross he put in and he has put a good cross in 2 or 3 times in recent weeks. He also undoubtedly works hard. Does Dolan get a disproportionate amount of criticism? Maybe he does but then again, this season our issues have obviously been in attack, the defence has been consistently very good as have Tronstad and Travis. It doesnt require confirmation bias to suggest that Dolan hasnt done anywhere near enough going forward. Hedges has also received his fair share of criticism too, same with Gueye until this last few games. Dolan having been here for so long frustrates more because it doesnt feel like he is becoming more productive or ironing out his flaws in any way. A few times yesterday he had the chance to do something and he proceeded to spin round, or start trying flicks, there was once in the second half where he had an overlapping run, tried a stupid backheel and gave the ball away. His end product in the main is still not good enough, he hasnt scored in something like 20 games. -

Everyone gets clapped off for their efforts. Good cross for the goal but in general, not particularly. Frustrating to watch him keep spurning potential attacking chances with bad decision making and trying needless tricks. -

You keep saying 4th or 5th choice. Baker was our 3rd choice so why when we have injuries in that position are we going for a 4th or 5th choice? We are in a position to push for the play offs. It shows your standards that you are content with anybody just to make the numbers up. And ive commented on the standard of football hes come from and also the short contract offered. I have no opinion on him as an individual. But where we have got him from doesnt really fit in with a club desperate to improve to sustain a play off push. You were critical of the idea last week, like with Forshaw you are now wriggling around doing everything you can to defend the club. -

Yes, fortunate. I think we got away with one at the end. The thing is, our player could 2 foot an opposition player in the box and youd be insistent that it wasnt a penalty. Its luck we will take but we got fortunate with poor refereeing decisions last night. Id rather have a new winger than either Dolan or ACD to be honest. Its a position we could do with another option to give us some added pace and quality. Got lots of plodders. -

We cant be amidst a chasing pack of teams waiting around for a potential loan on the assumption that his current club sign someone. We know how that will end. -

I think towards the end we tired with our squad running on empty, and both Travis going off and the change to a back 5 hindered us much more than those 2 going off. Their subs also made a difference.
