  1. How are words and phrases like "pivot" and "low block" more detailed and how do they contain more tactical nuance?! 😂
  2. Why does that make it progress? Terms/phrases such as low block and pivot or indeed the meaning existed prior to someone feeling the need to come up with an alternative way of putting it. Why does it make it smarter to for example say low block rather than sit deep?
  3. It isn't anything to do with glass half full v glass half. You clearly based on your second quoted statement (and coupled with recent boasts about your own business) are financially in a good place, have some empathy for those who can't (or indeed won't because they can't or won't justify a lack of value compared to other priorities) justify the cost or for those to whom cost IS sensitive. You and the many others regularly pleading with people to come to Ewood, not taking into account the various factors are also wasting your time. The people you are targeting whilst sat on your ivory tower will in the main not be reading as floating fans who don't have the same level of interest, not all fans have the same sense of duty yet some cannot see that.
  4. We will struggle to adequately replace our best players on a pittance. It seems that none are close to new deals with the owners unwilling to get close to their demands. So be it is a flippant take on it.
  5. You are echoing and falling for the unconstructive spiel that has regularly seaped out of the club in the last few years as an attempt to fend off any internal blame as to why attendances are so low. The majority of the core support are still attending games now. You seem to not be able to understand that at no club is every supporter someone with not only an equal passion in the club but similar circumstances to be able to attend games. It is not a duty to attend games, thinking that it is will not increase gates. As an aside, you seem to assume/imply that any lapsed supporters are no longer attending purely out of protest against the owners which is totally untrue. You also seldom if ever consider price as a reason why people either cant and/or wont go.
  6. I am unsure if Waggott is really lucky to have you in his ear, or if it is not very productive to have someone who thinks so much like him. Solely blame the fans, lets not bother with constructive ways to get those floating fans back, and lets really absorb ourselves in a culture of how limited we should be. It is down to the CLUB to get attendances up. I think these 3 scenarios are a little too simplistic. A key factor is pricing which Rovers can also fix to be fair, and unlike attaining PL status (although selling our best player would very much be the opposite of trying to do that) it is much easier to achieve. If as explained by 1864roverite a series of additional incomes are potentially limited by a 2/3's empty stadium, then surely the club would put even more emphasis on getting attendances up. Waggott's simplistic examples given in the last fans forum only included extreme examples to "prove" that he is justified in putting up prices so much, ie really high v one off deals. It doesn't factor in a reasonably priced middle ground, and it doesn't consider the long term or any other ramifications.
  7. If Brereton is sold in January, baring in mind that Mowbray has said that its not his decision. Would you blame him anyway or Venkys, and if the latter, would that renege upon your "2 more years to prove they are fit owners" pledge?
  8. Again, if your attitude is what if they get injured, lets sell our players as soon as they have value, whats the point in any of it?
  9. You can tell that you have been spending too much time with Waggott. 4th in the league, closer to 2nd than 7th, 4 wins on the bounce and not even the level of ambition to at least keep our squad together until the end of the season, putting our "town" club down, lets be happy where we are. There is never a guarantee of anything but we are as in a good a place as weve been for a while and youd be content to just give up half way through. Its not even as if its now or never to sell him, by all means if we dont go up and he wont sign, then sell him in the off season when we have the time to rebuild, thats if our owners give us any of that money although the usual "its all FFP's fault" cheerleaders will be out in force regardless. Publically waving him off? He basically said that its not his decision but that he would like to think that he can at least stay the season.
  10. I cannot at all fathom supporters being anything other than furious at the prospect (not confirmed) of us selling our best player/main goalscorer mid way through a season in which we are 4th! He will maintain value at the end of the season when we can sell him should we not go up when its a different story.
  11. Nothing grim about the potential sale of our best player mid way through a season that actually threatens some success? Obviously I understand it but it wont make it easier potentially seeing our first reasonable chance of promotion back to the Prem under these wankers thrown away.
  12. Even selling at 25m would be aggravating. Sell Brereton and we are saying that promotion isnt the primary intention, and wed be essentially giving up.
  13. It is specificially stated that he hasnt asked out. If he did go though, it would be a professional moving up a division and for a massive wage increase as anyone would in his position. My anger would lie at the feet of the owners if it was to happen. It would be beyond a lack of ambition and short sightedness.
  14. He still hasnt played all season due to injury, what will have changed?
  15. How is that possibly Mowbray fault! He said that its up to the owners but he would like to think that he will at least be here for the season. Your desperation to protect the owners from criticism has now led you to give the owners no responsibility for the potential downgrading of our academy (if it was Waggott trying to pull a fast one whilst they were unaware, he would not be in employment once they did find out) and already blaming Mowbray for a lack of "cojones" if it transpires that Venkys sell our key player mid season in a promotion push.
  16. https://talksport.com/football/efl/1001847/ben-brereton-diaz-transfer-blackburn-january-leeds-brighton-sevilla-chile/ Grim reading.
  17. That isn't luck though, a league table is about placings rather than points. Ultimately it is a total irrelevance as to whether a certain points tally would have kept us in a different season with different teams, that season our points tally made us worse than 21 others.
  18. The Gallagher contract situation is a totally different one in that he is one of if not our highest earners, coming from a big contract at Southampton. Rothwell came having been in and out at Oxford, Nyambe signed his last deal before he established himself and Lenihan prior to getting the captaincy. All 3 deserve and warrant increases. With Gallagher, purely speculating but I imagine that he would require little if any increase to sign, therefore the only question is whether we would want a player who is a high earner on the wage bill for 1 or 2 extra seasons, my preference would be no. But the other 3 will need increases to the current wage bill as well which Venkys seemingly are unwilling to allow.
  19. Just before he leaves on a free sadly. Was very good on Saturday.
  20. You keep mentioning the negative role that speculation plays, surely you aren't helping with such cryptic clues such as the below: "Thing is, its not just me who knows something about it, there are quite a few others who know some of the plans, know most of the plans and know a little less of the plans!" "I know a tad more about the specifics of this transaction" "When the details of a major transaction for Rovers break in the very near future there will be uproar from those who have no understanding of what is going on at Ewood" It just comes across as ITK willy waving, it isn't helpful because as seen with that last example it is done with an agenda to try and provoke people or at least put down and look down upon people who you deem to not know as much as you do. By all means share as much as you can, but be aware that if you are going to drip feed and do the whole ITK nonsense, then you will provoke people. Regarding player evaluations, we are on a Rovers messageboard whereby people will comment on player performances as they go by. Pears was really poor in his first few games, remember him running out of his net and conceding after 9 seconds v Reading or letting one slip through his body in the Cup. Yet after a couple of clean sheets (not the busiest and not without the occasional heart in mouth moment but 3 or 4 crucial saves and certainly contributed well to those shut outs) he has received lots of praise. When Buckley first broke in he looked lost, people commented on the games as they went past and he looked out of his depth. This season he again has got so much praise for growing into a regular key role in the side. Whats the problem? Can people not criticise a player if they dont look up to it in case they improve in the future? And yes, people have the right to moan if they cant get a bloody Rovers shirt at Christmas, there of course will be external issues and pressures but we are missing out on potential income by having supply massively under levels of demand. Your defence of such a situation is to quote massive hypothetical numbers to try and make out as if it is totally out of the clubs hand, and ignore the fact that other clubs dont seem to share our troubles which happen every year! To suggest that having people unable to get a shirt for christmas is part of a good business model is laughable. Im not sure what your last paragraph even means in that it seems to massively contradict itself. You say that you haven't become positive off the back of talks with people in the club, yet imply that actually you have. Otherwise, where else is this information come from? People are going to always be skeptical when judging owners that have put us through continuous pain since they burdened us with their ownership.
  21. You seem very keen to provoke at the moment and shoot down any signs of "negativity" about a rumoured proposal that you seem very reluctant to do anything but vaguely hint at with cryptic clues. Surely the best thing to do would either be to reveal what you know and how you know or hold off for now. You also seem hell bent on making us all out to be negative doomsayers, after the last 11 years can you really blame people for assuming the worst? What you are hinting at seems somewhat unusual/unnecessary and is on the back of failed cutbacks fresh in peoples minds. Plus your sudden wave of optimism seems to be on the back of meetings with Waggott.
  22. Its not what I want or think should happen, more what I sadly expect will happen.
  23. I suspect that such strict restrictions would provoke protests across the country.
  24. QPR is off tomorrow due to Covid, with Spurs off today and United also reporting numerous cases.
  25. The increase in potential Covid restrictions may put such numbers in jeopardy.
