  1. Waggott is not what is wrong with the club or the reason that it is so haphazard. Hes just an incompetent employee, surely any bad feeling should be directed towards Pune.
  2. Literally as in it was alledged because people had become understandably fed up after our bad run and couldnt even credit him for changes made to win. You have said "this week" for about 3 weeks running so lets hope you are right this time. It really isnt. Mowbray is middle of the road, can do better but not based on a "anything but Mowbray" mentality.
  3. I never ever got the impression from under Mowbray that the players did anything but try their best and give their all for him. He regularly did also talk up the history of the club.
  4. There is a difference between merely having Championship experience and having done good jobs or having a good record at that level. The focus of the new manager should be purely to win football matches.
  5. That would change when he or indeed any manager was interviewed following a loss, whoever the manager is it would start to grate. I dont get the fixation. You couldnt enjoy watching Rovers specifically because of post match soundbites you have read having seeked them out, rather than the defeat itself? Its an unnecessary limitation especially when many named have had bad experiences. It also assumes that Championship is special and different. Take Cocu, only one poor spell at Derby in the Championship, surely him having that spell on his CV is a bad thing, not good because its "Championship experience."
  6. Listening to? I dont get this fascination with what a manager says, usually at points of high emotion.
  7. Not sure, Dyche would be ideal but under Venkys is obviously unrealistic as it seemed unfortunately that Wagner and Carvalhal were. Failing that, I would take Wagner, Jokanovic, Bilic but ultimately I dont have the knowledge of other leagues especially abroad but it might take a bit of creativity. Some of the names you mentioned are appalling, much worse than Mowbray. We shouldnt be only considering out of contract managers and Championship experience is meaningless, Coyle has loads more than Pep, only matters if it leads to success and in your list it hasnt. You didnt say if you would take any/all of them, you are speaking in riddles again and avoiding questions but I presume you think that all would be upgrades.
  8. I certainly was not suggesting that we keep Mowbray. That list was full of no marks though so I was just pointing out that not everyone is a natural upgrade on him. I dont know if we do want an out of work head coach with Championship experience, we can regurgitate gossip but one thing that we have all learnt is that no one knows what they are talking about regarding our search. I wouldnt limit ourselves to such strict parameters. From your list, Jokanovic would be one id have despite his poor spell at Sheff Utd. Warburton is about on par, the others are shocking suggestions. Wasnt Christansen crap at Leeds? Conversely, how many of them would you consider to be upgrades on Mowbray? (I know he needed to go so theres no point trotting that line up, im aware and agree) Who would you want from that list?
  9. What a depressing list of no marks. Would genuinely prefer Mowbray over most.
  10. Every manager has managed us for financial reasons. Even Ainsworth would be.
  11. Moaning on here doesnt equate to a lack of backing at Ewood, but surely this is hypocritical considering your posts about Mowbray?
  12. Random guess. But out of interest, how would feel if thay happened? Pissed off/angry? And one word answer, Woodgate or Mowbray?
  13. Personally win lose or draw, the behaviour of the manager meaningless to me. A loss but thd manager waving his arms around is no consolation. I cant see Ainsworth either, I dont think wed pay compensation.
  14. Both will leave big holes but id much prefer Lenihan to stay out of the 2.
  15. Also, what Woodgate inherited at Boro is much more similar than Bournemouth. He will be coming here with our top scorer set to leave, a key midfielder having already left, a key loan centre back having gone back and our captain set to go.
  16. Alan Myers isnt a good source, he said Unsworth was a serious candidate but says in the LT too.
  17. Lenihan leaving it seems, would be a huge blow.
  18. Thats the point, under our shit owners we are only after the desperate. Im guessing that you wouldnt be happy with Pearce, Cocu or Woodgate for example? Mowbray would be better which tells you everything.
  19. From what I have seen, Venkys have never mentioned FFP and its rare that its brought up in the minutes at fans forums or even by the manager, the recent line has always been the owners struggling in India with the pandemic. For some reason, those most keen to defend the owners have created an assumption that FFP is the only thing stopping the owners from investing more money. The pitch last season was an example of a crack in that fictional theory.
  20. I didnt say that you had personally recommended those candidates, I was saying that you had named loads who you think might be on this supposed list to hedge your bets. Your list was full of dross who id hope we wouldnt touch with a ten foot barge pole, then again with seemingly a small budget and strict limits on staff, the list becomes small straight away. Also add other dross like Grayson, Adkins, Ferguson, Unsworth, Pardew, there are loads of shit options around. Out of interest, aside from a bit of work in a totally different role working with the kids, how do you know that Johnson should stay yet the other 2 should go, how can you possibly be privy to their individual merits? Ultimately, any new manager should be allowed autonomy to decide which of the staff they want to keep and its a huge limiting factor not to allow it, but I dont get how you have individual opinions on our specific coaching staff members. I think the key is not to expect anything soon and to expect the worst with our owners.
  21. So it could very well likely see no appointment even next week according to that, and the staff issue is embarrassing and will really diminish any lingering hope of a decent appointment. The whole club has been run like this for 12 years. Waggott is seemingly not competent to do his role based on other parts of his remit so when he is tasked with this amidst big limitations (budgetary considering the fact that the staff are seemingly staying regardless) and also a total lack of autonomy as everyone has leading to big delays, its an absolute car crash. You've certainly hedged your bets by naming all of them, and quite frankly its a pretty depressing bunch, most of whom I would like to think will be nowhere near, especially Stuart bloody Pearce! What I don't get is that with Waggott and indeed with Mowbray, you only when really pushed give Venkys any blame for leaving these people in situ indefinitely. You speak as if these are chancers purposely ruining our club and Venkys are innocent bystanders with no power to do anything. You also seemingly are under the impression that Venkys willingness to spend is indefinite and for some reason, it is Waggott who is insisting that staff are kept to penny pinch and the owners aren't aware of it. Not even touching on the fact that Lowe for example has been here for twice as long as him. If Waggott recommended a good manager and he was appointed and did well, that would look far better on him than going out of his way to ensure that staff stay to penny pinch, that can't be his decision. Waggott would likely see his salary rise and strengthen his job security if we went up on the back of that.
  22. That I found it strange that posts especially that one from roverandout regarding "blubbering" that people have gone from wanting Scotland to lose to wanting them to win because Ukranian players keep crying about the war.
  23. You can say that across the board that you dont know for sure, in theory we could appoint Kean or Coyle again and there would be slither of a chance of a succesful season. But the prices Rovers charged and the time you need to dedicate to go every other week means that some people will be unsure from the start whether to renew. A cheap appointment not only reduces the chances (not eliminates) of success but it might also feel like a further slap in the face after 12 years that the penny still hasnt dropped and likely never will.
  24. So is the reason for people wanting Ukraine to lose that they keep getting upset over their country being war torn?!
