  1. He is a cumbersome lump replaced somehow by an even more cumbersome and far more goal shy lump.
  2. Hes a striker with 1 goal all season! And we cant score goals. Its as big an issue as any.
  3. Gueye. Gallagher (when fit) wasnt a natural goalscorer either. He had no instinct to get into dangerous areas. Yet when fit, even he got 8 or 9 a season. I cant get my head around how Gestede researched him and thought, yep he fits into this team and has enough quality.
  4. It would say a lot if we cant find a striker to score more than 1 goal in half a season. The thing with Ohashi is that even though he has offered so little goal threat since an early burst of goals that at least makes his tally semi respectable. The team looks so much more fluid with him in it. Rather than a big cumbersome lump who couldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo.
  5. He never looks like scoring. Its going to be mid January minimum before he even potentially can get to 2 league goals. He offers no goal threat, when attacking players get the ball for example out wide he shows no movement to get into goalscoring positions. A neutral wouldnt see that he has offered no threat to goal all season and thats not acceptable for a striker. Hes stealing a living at this level and people are clinging onto little glimpses of hold up play as if he isnt a big problem. He needs shifting.
  6. Its Venkys that arent willing to reinvest any of the sales they pushed for but again the focus goes elsewhere.
  7. Even when players get down the sides, Gueye has no intelligence and no desire to get into goalscoring positions. We badly need a striker and a winger as a minimum, plus defensive cover. I wouldnt hold your breath under these owners, certainly no one of much use.
  8. Not true. And incredible that you believe that.
  9. Simply not good enough and I am not pacified by effort, I am sick of seeing us fail to win (usually losing) to that lot, symptomatic of the Venkys era. It was a crap performance. Gueye still seems to have some staunchly defending him, he is absolute shite. Nowhere near good enough. @Paul Mani bizarrely was claiming that he at least creates chances for himself, he doesnt, there were times in the first half in particular through ACD when we got down the sides and he shows no movement or desire to get himself into a position where he can potentially receive a cross. He needs shifting as soon as possible, he isnt good enough, he never will be and Gestede has dropped a howler bringing him in. The whole attack is totally blunt, the 4 that started have 5 goals between them. Dolan did nothing and Cantwell again flatters to deceive. ACD is the one who does show fleeting bits of promise to make things happen but he tires very quickly. The subs are a waste of time, Leonard isnt ready, Weimann is past it, Hedges scores 1 a season and Buckley like Gueye I would be happy to never see in our shirt again. Defensively for the most part we were fine, Eustace has us well drilled but out attack is terrible. If Eustace isnt backed he will just leave. We cant sustain a play off push with this squad.
  10. Im not sure a bloke recommending Morata and Enzo Fernandez is the answer.
  11. Would be typical Rovers to sign a player in one position we have 2 good options in already.
  12. The symptom of no money (not a big budget waiting just to be asked for) and big delays with things needing to be approved by owners miles away who dont care sadly.
  13. We was talking about league goals. Not a goal against a Stockport youth side when prolific Jack Vale also scored. You clearly dont rate him either hence recently basically saying he isnt good enough.
  14. Obviously. But we will need to score to win.
  15. Same story in the LT today. Eustace has asked for signings and contracts to be sorted. Nothing happening yet.
  16. Same question to you. If Gueye finishes the season on 2 goals and 12 assists of a similar nature. Is that a good season for a striker?
  17. You seem to think that you have really high football understanding and that anyone who doesnt share an opinion is just not very well clued up though. Gueye isnt regularly getting into goalscoring chances though, he has missed those 2 sitters but its not a constant churn of misses. You speak as if he is a natural in terms of anticipating where the ball is going to go. He isnt. And either way he is an appalling finisher as we have seen. Gallagher is a poor technical player but Gueye makes him look like Harry Kane in front of goal somehow. "Goal contributions" are only being used because people know his goal tally is so bad. Ohashi has scored 5 goals, he has done far better as a result. To show up the reliance on assists and how they dont rank equally with a goal, Ohashi made a great run and squared a perfect ball for Gueye v Luton. The latter miskicked it, Beck followed it up. Ohashi has made a far bigger contribution to that goal, yet if you base it on goal contributions, Gueye did. Ohashi scoring one of his goals doesnt equal Gueye winning a header 30 yards out or playing a 5 yard pass. If he carries on the same rate and ends the season on 2 goals and 12 assists of a similar nature, is that a good season for a striker in your eyes?
  18. We are at home so to try and actually offer some sort of attacking threat. As difficult as it is with the current set of attackers.
  19. I obviously dont see Weimann as who I want up front. We dont have a striker available who comes close to what I would perceive to be a Championship standard striker. A strikers primary job is to score goals and Gueye has 1. It feels like this "goal contributions" metric that people are using is to try and convince ourselves that Gueye is anything other than a poor striker. As I said, a header 30 yards out, a missed tap in, a couple of 5 yard passes, those contributions arent on par with goals. In terms of the assist stat, one of his main contributions as a Rovers player was the header back across the face of goal yesterday. That ISNT an assist apparently. Whereas him embarassing himself missing a tap in but it hitting his heel is. That shows that the assist stat needs to be taken with a pinch of salt and doesnt accurately measure a strikers contribution.
  20. Im not saying we had the wrong approach specifically against Leeds, we clearly didnt. I am saying that Eustace is massively restricted because our underfunded squad lacks attacking quality and if our owners gave a shit and backed him, it could potentially give us a different dimension. As I have said and backed up with the stat of only 3 times in 17 in which we have scored more than 1 goal, we need better attackers. Its not a hard thing to grasp. Eustace has done excellently to have us so well organised, and its led to us being as high as we are. We can see that if we dont keep a clean sheet, something Eustace is very good at getting but something that is impossible to get in every match. Then we will always struggle to score more than 1 which we would need to win. I feel like you are arguing for the sake of arguing. You clearly feel like we need better attackers hence why you keep saying we need a striker and a winger.
  21. The back 7 picks itself. The front 4 is really difficult due to the lack of quality.
  22. There was very little money yet it seemed like we were flush with cash compared to last summer.
  23. Its a sorry choice and not one I would be comfortable with. Due to the constant budget slashing, any choices feel like scraping the barrel in attack.
  24. He can actually finish unlike calamity Gueye. And Leonard proved again yesterday that he is nowhere near ready.
