  1. I dont doubt that the intention is to get Rankin Costello to drift inside with Brittain overlapping and I dont think its a case where people dont understand the logic I just dont think that Rankin Costello has been particularly effective there. He has probably been our weakest outfield performer in the 2 games so far.
  2. Brittain played in front of JRC last season and it didnt work very well. We really look imbalanced and weak in wide areas and with no sign of any permanent solution. We need a new option on both sides.
  3. I dont get why we would sign a 29 year old striker with a brief period of goalscoring and as far as we know, no consistent history of being a winger nor any talk of having considerable pace, to fix the fact that we need a natural wide man with pace. Not that either of the other 2 are ideal choices, especially borrowing them.
  4. Its just going to be loans isnt it. No to Matondo if it is a loan.
  5. It wont and doesnt need to be every penny. Clubs make losses at Championship level so need to use a chunk of sales to offset those. But the key thing is, a decent chunk likely will, same with Hull. And we have made sales above both of those. Even if we reinvested £20m of £40m say, that at least could really help the team. But no chance.
  6. Venkys only funding the club to keep the lights on has not happened only since the court case. Its all they have done for tbe majority of their time in charge. Its just been particularly desperate coupled with well timed sales.
  7. Pears Rankin Costello Batth Hyam Pickering Travis Tronstad Weimann Dolan Hedges Gueye
  8. We should have long since worked this out.
  9. Why do we continue to be such a disorganised mess? Well, one word. Venkys. We all know that the number we need will reduce as time gets the better of us.
  10. At this level, you are always going to struggle to sign a player with speed and end product and I appreciate it. But there is a sliding scale, it isnt just has end product or hasnt got end product. And Matondo whenever I have seen him for Rangers has loads of pace but is particularly erratic, hence why he has failed to ever nail down a starting spot and why their fans seen happy to let him go. That being said, I think my opinion on any potential deal and its no more than a solitary link at the moment, would depend on whether its a permanent or a loan. Perhaps a bit more end product would come over time as unlike Dembele who has failed for years to kick on, Matondo is at a good age so maybe regular football and a fresh start can help him. I am sick of the "stop being negative" attempt at a counter argument.
  11. Matondo is quick but has barely any end product. Suppose if its permanent he is still young so maybe he will become more consistent. A loan would be frustrating.
  12. We are past the point of needing links, rumours, indecision and spells of waiting. We need players in. We need at least 5 in less than 9 days. Thats not factoring in our inevitable last day incompetence. I look forward to Eustace saying tomorrow that we arent close to anyone.
  13. You cant be basing transfer business on potential sell ons. The key part is always the guaranteed fee, not potential add ons.
  14. By that logic. Scott Hogan and Lukas Jutkeiwicz should have been signed over Gueye and Ohashi. I love how signing a player right at the end of his career who shows signs of considerable decline is the risk free option.
  15. As if we would buy at the end of it. Just get him as number 1 long term if hes the one. Although maybe its based on the old rumour.
  16. https://www.twentefans.nl/drommel-wil-weg-bij-psv-engelse-club-wil-huren-met-koopoptie/ Says here we want Drommel on loan. Pathetic that we are trying to borrow a player who potentially could be a number 1 for a number of years considering the money we have brought in
  17. This idea of replacing man for man last years squad is stupid. Not only because some players dont need replacing which you have considered but on the flip side, it would only work if our squad was well balanced in all areas last season, and it wasnt. So no, Telalovic doesnt need replacing directly. But we only had 1 senior striker last season and he missed a lot of games. Its all about how we are looking in the here and now to see if we are well covered, rather than these illogical comparisons. 1 senior full back on either side, and 1 incompetent senior keeper, so we are 3 short there. 1 short in midfield, and a couple of wingers.
  18. Gary Bowyer 😂 Are they just planning on repeatedly appointing the same managers? Ian Holloway perhaps next?
  19. Is there any job that you havent suggested that people put money on Alex Neil?
  20. I wonder if Hull signing Puerta will be as an alternative to Travis. If we got Baker, it would have to be at considerably less than £2.5m to represent any value. But options of Baker, Tronstad, Travis, Buckley and at times JRC would leave us well stocked. Saying that, Seri is going to Saudi Arabia and Hull's new midfielder is facing a lengthy ban so perhaps not.
  21. I wonder if Carter is injured as he limped off late at the weekend and doesnt seem to be on the training pictures, although I may be wrong. There is no mention of any potential signings in defence. One injury for Carter leaves us with only 2 full backs and 3 centre backs, one of whom can play only in a back 3.
  22. Just because Ohashi has started well doesnt necessarily mean that other Japanese players would.
  23. He should have a say, 100%. But if his idea is to just sign old Birmingham players and fill the team with too many over the hill players, that is a huge concern. He keeps talking about building a team, yet would rather loan a pensioner goalkeeper over signing one of the alternatives.
  24. Eustace isnt trying to get the old relegated Birmingham team together. Just half of it. Now is a great time for transfer disagreements. Its not as if we have 10 days until the window closes and need 5 or 6 players.
