The Summer Transfer Window (Press Submit)

We are probably close to failing to pay wages/hmrc given how long it’s been since Venkys sent us any cash. Unless Raya/Wharton money lands soon. That local businessman they borrowed off last time must be rubbing his hands together. -

Renewed but feel like I'm condoning the shit show off the pitch, at the end of the day its too big a part of my social life to miss. We seriously need to invest in the squad for this to be equal or better than the 6 home wins last season. -

That was as boring as watching rovers last season, looked clueless and lethargic all over the pitch. At least we have the excuse of having plodders in most positions what’s Southgate’s excuse? -

It says the early bid window closes on Saturday but does anyone know if that means as of Friday 23:59 or Saturday 23:59? Its inevitable I will get one but want to leave it as late as possible as my only avenue of showing my disgust at the owners/leadership. -

"I think communication is key, they have to know what's going on to a certain extent obviously. If you want them to feel part of the club then you need to make them feel like they know what's happening in the club. "I'm pleased we're doing this already. Steve Waggott is doing his best to ensure the fans know what's happening in the club. "I think Steve is working to make sure we are improved on everything and we're all aligned in the same direction." Rudy Waggot. Christ what a complete load of shite, years of managed decline along with zero communication about what the plan is. But well done Steve, you're doing your best... -

Complete joke of an appointment even for these clowns its low. Followed by a chief of recruitment who they are lauding for bringing in Markandy and Hedges. Great start to the summer business. -

Dom Hyam probably made more mistakes in one game against Bristol than Pears did all season yet it barely gets a mention. Mistakes happen, I'm more concerned with our complete lack of ability to create or score chances without Wharton & Sammy (also possibly minus Dolan and Gallagher if they are sold due to the contract situation). -

Changing Pears wont be the difference in going up or down, you can get by with an average GK which is what he is (see chart above). Thats why I dont care its nothing about excitement. I do care about the lack of creativity, pace and goal scoring left in our squad. With whatever pittance Venkys allow us to spend this should be the priority above anything else and we are in for a miserable season if its not addressed. -

I dont really care about goalkeepers, Pears should be replaced if we can but Id rather put every penny into forwards and wingers. When Sammy leaves we are going to be lucky to score 10-20 goals over the entire season with the personnel we have available. -

Totally agree, even though last season was complete shite on and off the field I still want to go as its part of my social life and something I have done for the last 30 years. But there comes a point where you feel like enough is enough and this court case/endless sales/staff exits/lack of investement is the final straw for me. I feel like the club is taking complete advantage of our fans currently with the lies they are coming out with. If someone in the club be it Waggot or Venkys came out and actually explained what is going on and what the future looks like in terms of a plan/investment etc. I would probably buy one. The radio silence just makes me feel I am right that next year involves selling our best players over the summer and seeing a team of u23, loans and free transfer lads getting beat every week. That is unacceptable and a level of ambition that should never be seen at Blackburn Rovers. -

All I see so far this summer is people leaving and not being replaced. Its cost cutting IMO and nothing to do with a new plan/vision. -
It was a panic sale. The form he has showed since just makes it even harder to stomach and highlights how Waggot got his pants pulled down with the fee. Lets hope someone in Venkyland is taking note of it and sacks him.

He's in charge of the money, so to me it feels like him. He could choose to charge less, he could choose to improve the ground, he could choose to spend some money on quality players, he could choose to run the club properly. But instead he chooses to praise the owners who are billionaires whilst systematically downgrading the club in every aspect. Meanwhile using the money we give him for season tickets to pay for £20m of unexplained losses every season whilst the costs are reduced 20% every summer for the last god knows how many years. -

Exactly this. Selling us a season ticket last year on the back of a big promotion push and finally some ambition from the manager/dof. Then Waggot comes out a few weeks after the ticket window closed saying we just need to avoid relegation and have no money. It just feels like they are taking the piss out of us and can see Waggot telling the story over a pint laughing with his CEO mates. Giving this clown money genuinely pains me. -

The cost cutting continues. As I said earlier in the summer there is no point having a DoF and scouting department when we have zero transfer funds. There is clearly also no motivation for the staff to stay there either. -

It's safe to assume that the last time Venkys sent a penny to rovers was after court approval in November, £11m which paid bills up until the end of December it was reported. For a club that loses £20m a year it can't be long until we have to flog Szmodic or someone else to pay the bills. We won't have had the Wharton money in one lump sum so money is probably already extremely tight. -

I think we all know the answer is until it runs out, meanwhile we watch a team of frees, loans and u23s get relegated. -

A load of nonsense, if it wasn't for the panic sales of Wharton, cancelling any paid for signings and a bridging loan against the training ground we would already be in administration. -

All very quiet on the transfer front, not surprised given its holiday time for the players/staff. We obviously didn't have anything lined up though as guessing it would be rumoured or announced like a few others clubs have done. All signs point to the barren summer until the court case is heard in August. -

Lets see how many they have sold in a few weeks time, I won't be renewing unless there is some signings or statements about investment before the early bird window is closed. -

Conflicted as to get one or not, really only got till 22nd June to decide because no way I will pay the uplifted prices which is a total joke. My issue is that as yet we have no statement or plan from the club about what next season entails. If they were to commit to spending some money and get a player or two in before the 22nd I would probably renew. As it stands it could be an even worse season than last (6 home wins was it?) without Sammy, Dolan or Gallagher. Replaced by some 35yr old freebies and children on loan from Brighton. No thanks. -

It feels like the club is in total crisis but publicly acting like its business as usual. The last fans forum minutes read like a parellel universe from what the club is actually going through. Waggot especially is peddling complete lies about numerous things and needs to be gone this summer. -
Sad to see the only guy with a plan at the club let go. A pointless position though when he was given 50p to work with. Anyone who thinks Waggot is gonna do half the job Broughton did is living in cloud cuckoo land.

Yet somehow we still lose £20m a season. Something stinks at the club

There can't be many people actually looking forward to buying one of these as it stands today. A terrible home season with barely any wins or goals, a squad built mainly of loans and academy players, no strikers, no wingers. Then you consider the match day 'experience' which is truly awful in terms of atmosphere, service and comfort. Then the clown show off the pitch which has and will see us sell our best players, loan out our captain and bring in nothing but frees/loans to pad things out. Next season could be the worst in my living memory in terms of value for money. If they really are going to freeze or raise prices I hope they sell barely any and have to play the first few games in an almost empty stadium. Maybe that is what it will take for the owners and mgmt. to stop taking the piss out of us all.
