Worryingly it could end up the opposite, we know Waggot had to use transfer money to pay the bills over the summer as it was reported Venkys arent allowed to send any money overseas. If thats still the case how will we pay the bills this month and next as we cant flog anyone now?

This is insane. So not only will they refuse to abolish parachute payments they will also allow clubs in receipt of it to spend/lose a greater % amount than everyone else in the championship? Pretty much guaranteeing a constant yo-yo fo clubs between the leagues whilst the rest of us scrap about for the dreggs.

I would say JDT has had an easy ride so far from fans and pundits. The football last season started with dreadful performances with decent points return and ended with better football but with a poor return. This season has continued in that vein. He is rightly coming into some criticism now, his reputation well exceeds his performance at rovers so far in my view.

Many others have said it but JDT needs to change his approach or we are going to spend all season losing whilst other manages compliment us on playing football the ‘right way’. It’s basically the back 4 plus Wharton on defence and everyone else can do what they like. And tackling isn’t Whartons game at all.

Absolutely a massive opportunity that someone like Waggot will never address I expect. The season tickets and marketing in particular are a joke as we all discussed earlier this summer. I don’t think we will ever make enough from fans to break even though, not sure of the maths but £20m shortfall would be loads of tickets and merchandise.

Unfortunately there are two sides to football. The fan side where we all want success and the best of everything. Me included! The business side where we have to become a sustainable club. Losing £20m or more a season is ludicrous and training ground sell offs, closing stands for low crowds are all attempts at addressing that.

Ok where is the bar set for you in terms of Venkys losing/investing money in the club? £20m per season isn’t enough clearly. £50m? £100m?

It’s just too much of a gamblers attitude for me to get behind. Why risk it all and for what benefit? Yes the Venkys are idiots but the fact is they keep the club going at the moment. The point at which that stops (which might be soon based on the tax/fraud stuff) I’ll revisit my position. Or if a credible alternative comes forward.

I don’t get the attitude of I’d rather see us burn down the leagues or go bust just to get rid of the Venkys attitude. It’s far too extreme and illogical. Until a credible party comes forward with finance and is happy to lose £20m a year I’d much rather stick with Venkys and continue to fight against the odds of getting into the playoffs each season.

Great post, only issue I have with the 70% wage cap is that it doesn't go far enough. It favours big city clubs with large fan bases. In an ideal world I would go even further and put a wage cap in for the EFL to stop the loss making madness. You would think most EFL clubs would want this but there doesn’t seem to be any real push for reform from clubs. Even though owners like Venkys and the Hemmings family down the road chuck £20m down the toilet every season just to keep players and agents in the latest Ferrari and designer threads.

Should be a good entertaining game this, even if its at a terrible time on Sunday which pretty much writes off the day to do anything else! Defo going to be goals, just hope we convert more chances than we did against sunderland and come away with the three points. Nothing to fear at home even if it is top of the leage money bags Leicester. Perhaps give Wharton a rest and put Tronstad in there along with Sigurdson to start with but other than that wouldnt tinker too much.

Only caught the last 20mins but played out as expected pre-game. The ‘We’re gonna score one more than you’ tactics are shit and JDT needs a rethink before we find ourselves in bother.

Not very hopeful given their good start and our defensive issues. We will no doubt create some chances but seem to have no luck with them going in. I predict another entertaining ding dong but ultimately a loss on the road. Be good if we can get some minutes in Siggy, Tronsted and Telalovic we need these guys to make an impact quickly.

The writing was on the wall when we failed to score in the first 30mins, playing some of the best football I’ve seen at Ewood for a long time. Sunderland had all the luck and scored 3 goals with their 3 shots on goal. Once Travis went off it all went to shit, we have a team of players that can’t tackle other than the back 4. Without him in the side we look really vulnerable and did at Boro on Saturday too. It’s early days but concerning with how many goals we concede with this hung ho approach. Especially when we can’t score for shit at the other end. The whole season is going to hinge on how good the signings turn out to be once fit as the current 11 definitely don’t have the goals in them.

Yep its a great idea, in fact its exactly how Rovers got me in the hook in the early 90's when we went there on a school trip and gave us all free tickets for the remainder of the season. We should be all over something similar if the club had any strategic planning at all.

I just asked my mate and its actually 5, you can get 4 child (11 or under) for free with one paying season ticket holder.

I think for every paying PNE season ticket holder as well as being £100 cheaper than ours in the summer you also could get 3 free child season tickets. So numbers are likely boosted via that whether they attend or not.

He also brings more to the team than just being a good player who gives 100% every game. If you watch him off the ball or when its out of play he is constantly berating his team mates or dishing out instructions. Would make a great captain.

Good performance, should have been 5 or 6 with boro shocking at the back. Made hard work of the last 15 mins, no tackling in midfield and the new lad Moran may as well have sat in the stands he was that anonymous. Pears, Hyam and Carter were top class today and prob got us the 3 in the end. With a another class performance from Sammy who is in my eyes our best player these days.
