  1. Had a read through this earlier and just shows the impact of pricing on season tickets at our local rivals, full article linked. I notice Waggot has not come out in a similar fashion to explain our clubs thinking. Turnover for the season up to a record [operating] revenue of £14.8m. Increased revenue largely through commercial and stadium income (driven by improved season card sales). Annual pre-tax operating losses (pre depreciation and amortisation) reduced from £16m to £11.5m. Season card sales highest for over 60 years at c12,000. Average attendance at home games increased from 12,501 to 16,269. This is the highest average attendance at Deepdale for over 50 years. "Over the past season PNE has worked hard to redress this and to focus on a sustainable financial model. We are on the right track, but we still have work to do. The incredible support we have had from the fans, the increased season card sales and the record-breaking matchday crowds have all played a huge part in improving the club’s finances and we are extremely grateful to each and every fan for their support." https://www.lep.co.uk/sport/football/preston-north-end/preston-north-end-chairman-pens-lengthy-club-update-on-transfers-sustainability-ffp-last-season-next-season-and-even-the-roof-4147716
  2. great news, been our best player since Xmas
  3. I agree with a lot of this, I dont think he has exceeded expectations though both in terms of results and performances. I have been bored to tears for a lot of the time at Ewood this season, I renewed my ticket over the weekend but it was a close call whether to bother. Having said that its clear what he is trying to do and that he is hamstrung with the type/quality of players we have at the club currently. If he is staying the club have to invest in some players that like the ball at their feet and are comfortable under pressure with composure to play their way both out of trouble and into goalscoring opportunities. Adam Wharton is a clear example of the type of player that suits the JDT style. I feel the team has got better at the defensive element of JDT football over the season but the forward play is way off where it needs to be. Being realistic he needs to sign 3-4 attacking players as a minimum just to move things on and I am dubious whether the club will provide the funds. I think the long term future under JDT would be good as over time the players coming through the academy can be moulded into this style so that is another big positive. Although I have had enough of slow-build projects, I just want to see a team on the pitch scoring goals and winning games.
  4. That’s enough football for this season
  5. Nice to see JDT got them motivated for the match. only one team that wants the playoffs here
  6. I was talking to a PNE mate over the weekend and he has got next seasons ticket in their family stand for £280 with a free one for his 7 year old son.
  7. We have the makings of a decent squad all the way up until the attacking players as performances and results have shown this season. Unfortunately its the most expensive and tricky place to find players which gives me no hope that the club will find anyone decent over the summer. Brereton, Dolan and Hedges occupied the 3 attacking spots last night. All 3 need to be replaced with first choice quality signings for us to do anything more than we have this season. The best bet is probably the loan market but to get anyone good they need to have those deals warmed up and ready to go now for the window opening. If we arent going to invest then they should just let JDT leave as another season of this tripe will finish me off as a season ticket holder. The current squad has been painful to watch operate his style and given me very little to cheer for at ewood all season.
  8. What a performance last night, ran the show and hardly put a foot wrong. Burnley just resorted to kicking him in the end and even that failed to stop him. He reminds me a lot of Tugay in that nonchalant shoulder dropping sort of approach to the game. Massive talent if we can keep him and nurture it next season.
  9. Smodizc was going mad at him last night for not pressing or tracking his man. Lad gave up on us weeks ago
  10. Think that's me done for this season, these last 3 games have knocked the stuffing out of me with our run of luck. Another performance of hard work and grit but devoid of any quality apart from Wharton who ran the show. We create pretty much nothing of note in games or get any shots away, been the same all season. Its really shown how poor our set piece play is in recent games as well where we have had loads of corners/free kicks but done nothing with them. Another goal conceded by pissing about with the ball at the back instead of getting it forward or wide, Carter and Hyam just aren't comfortable with the ball at their feet so much. If we are sticking with JDT then he needs backing with some big money signings in all the attacking positions as well as centre midfield. This current squad combined with his football is painful to watch. Another special shout out for Brereton who strolled about doing nothing again, at one point I thought Smodizc was going to come over and punch him he was getting that irate at him for failing to press or track his man.
  11. Mowbray was a dour fella, we could win 3-0 and he would sound like he was ready to jump off a building. jDT is a lot more media friendly and polished in that respect. In terms of performances I enjoyed watching us more at Ewood under Mowbray. I certainly wouldn’t be waiting since October to see us score more than 1 goal at home.
  12. Millwall and Luton have the 6th and 7th best expected goals in the league, we are 20th. Milwall and Luton have conceded less goals than us. Millwall and Luton have scored more goals than us. Take the blinkers off.
  13. Feel the same way, deserves another season but I havent enjoyed this one at Ewood. Every game has been a grinding performance with no real improvement in my eyes. I havent seen us score more than 1 goal at Ewood since October. We have one of the lowest expected goals ratio in the league. We have managed 2 points from a losing position all season. We have a negative goal difference. We spend large parts of the game passing it backwards with players arguing/pointing at each other like they dont understand how we are supposed to be playing. The fact we are in the playoff race is frankly mad, I guess that what still gives me hope to cling on to. His saving grace has been some personal improvement of the likes of Costello, Smodizc, Carter. Albeit at the same time he appears stubborn when questioned on why the likes of Wharton/Dack dont get game time when its clear others are massively underperforming throughout the season like Morton/Brereton. Like others if he did leave I wouldnt be fussed but little faith the club will find anyone better.
  14. Just no words….totally threw the match away with the negative approach in last 20 mins and bizarre substitutions. I’d quite happily never see Brereton in a rovers shirt again, he must be averaging a 1 out of 10 rating for the last 5-6 games. The lack of effort is sickening and still he was kept on the pitch.
  15. I still dont think I have ever seen him play yet as only watch the league games at Ewood. Complete mystery as to his talents, doesnt bode well if you cant get in the Aberdeen side though!
  16. Agree with most here saying that JDT needs to ring the changes. Brereton, Gallagher, Morton and Travis complete passengers in recent weeks so drop them all from the start and let someone else have a go. Got a feeling he wont though so expecting another grinding performance that could easily swing by 1 goal either way. On a positive the results of teams around us seem to be going reasonably well for us, lets hope the same happens again tonight. At least its still in our hands given the fixtures remain against the playoff sides.
  17. For me this was just another repeat of every other home game this season. Plenty of the ball but no idea what to do with it. Shocking central midfield and terrible up front. A few games we have managed to scrape a goal and win 1-0. For others we come away 0-0 or conspire a way to lose by making mistakes at the back. I can’t see any team development this season whatsoever, same mistakes and problems every week. However there have been individuals who have improved like JRC, Carter, Pears and Smodizc which is promising. The fact we are in the playoffs is laughable given performances, to have a goal difference of -2 says it all. Maybe it’s our season though as we are still in there!
  18. Knowing JDT we will get subs at 80mins when 3-0 down and a post match interview about how good our stats were and we are developing so keep the faith.
  19. I still don’t get the love for this guy having now sat through an entire season of his football at Ewood. The football in my opinion is dire and I am amazed we are up in the playoffs given what I see most matches. Even at this point of the season the lads are arguing amongst themselves as they don’t know where to position or pass it to for most the match. When the chips are down he has no ability to change the game leaving the subs way too late to affect the game or spur the lads in with a half time team talk. If the club want to keep him they need to spend a fortune on players that can play his style over the summer as this lot can’t.
  20. The lad offered more in his first 5 minutes than Morton had done the entire game. The only player looking to play it forwards in a sea of side and backwards bottlers.
  21. Just like watching rovers for the most part of the season, garbage. Been totally dominated, second to every ball and no clue going forward.
  22. Awful so far, I need to stop watching us on TV I am a bad omen. Been totally out done by Neil here he has us worked out perfectly
  23. Best performance of the season, the form just keeps improving with each game. Really enjoyable watch
  24. I would put all the focus into the forward positions, there is only really Dolan of the current crop that I would keep from the front 3 assuming Brereton goes. Thomas has looked ok if we can get him cheap enough and his form carries on to the end of the season, he isnt a world beater though just better than what we have. Central midfield is a tough one, we definitely need some experience in there but with Travis finding his form again could end up meaning Wharton/Buckley/Garret dont get any game time. Its irritated me this season seeing Morton get so much game time at their expense if I am honest especially as his performances have been average at best.
  25. Another fantastic result, didn’t see the game but sounds like we carried on from the Blackpool performance which I thought was one of our best in months at Ewood. If you had asked me after the Wigan game I would have put my life savings on us dropping out the playoffs but the team seem to have found a way to win. Plus the last two performances have finally showed some improvement from the dirge server up prior to it. Long may it continue the Sheff Utd game next weekend could be an important one
