I think this may have something to do with him not being our first choice signing at CB. I presume we have other options so aren’t going all in on Lindsay? I hope that’s what it is anyway

I think it's ridiculous to think that Totally Wicked increasing their sponsorship has impacted our transfer budget. I think if you didn't write that earlier on in the thread you wouldn't have to stick to your guns and you'd see it as a load of tosh as well. In terms of Platt. I don't know that but I can make an assumption that Venkys won't pay out for an ageing goalkeeper. That's just my opinion based on the lack of money invested in that position in recent times

Don't get me wrong, I am not suggesting he isn't a good goalkeeper because he is. But, unlike derby we don't have 12k a week to be spending on an ageing keeper when I think we could get someone like Phillips for the same if not less. I am also not naive enough to believe we will spend 800K on Phillips either. But if we can get someone in who does have experience but isn't 35, then i'd be happier with that. Who that is, I am not sure but I am not too upset it's not Marshall. There HAS to be better out there

Maybe it's not that we couldn't afford 12k wages but instead we just weren't interested? We don't have to want every goalkeeper that's available. No matter how good Marshall may be, he's not the solution to an ongoing issue at GK that we have had for a while now. We need someone younger than him that we can keep for longer than a season in my opinion

Yeah, it's really worrying. People will say give it time/nobody is making signings etc BUT we don't have that, we should be acting quicker than everyone else. We're in a bigger mess than everyone else.

Potentially not but he does have a couple of international caps and he's young enough that we could potentially sell him on for profit. So, fit's the Venky's model in every way except he doesn't play in midfield or attack. However, it does say on Wikipedia that he has 4 goals in 2 apps for Australia so maybe Tony is going to play him out wide?

I thought I was the only one who didn't rate Grealish. All these talks of a big money transfer reminds me of how I felt when Berahino was being touted for big money. Don't see why! This could explain why I am neither a scout or a football coach but just my opinion. Anyway, be a tough game against Villa. Always been a bogey team of ours but we do have the quality to win the game!
