Our midfield is too easy to bypass. That's a big problem. 3-0 up but looking ragged since the restart. -

2-0. A gift from the Posh defender. That should be that. -

Premier League season 21/22
SuperBrfc replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Couldn't agree more. What good is it to reflect now and blame themselves, when they downed tools and couldn't be bothered when it really mattered? It always winds me up seeing players apologising on twitter and posting things like "we're desperate to put it right in the next game". Bennett was bad for it. Just bloody do it on the pitch. I'm glad there was none of the social media crap around when we had real players like Tugay, Duffer and co. We were able to enjoy it without any of the false online posts. -
The table doesn't look too bad at the moment and we have two winnable games coming up. We know what that usually means, but a win today would set us up nicely for Peterborough. Bristol City aren't the side they were a couple of seasons ago and have struggled so far this season. They've lost key players in Nagy, Pack, Eliasson and Diedhiou and haven't replaced them properly by the looks of it. They are there for the taking today. I'm expecting Ayala, Pickering and Dolan to come back into the 11, with Wharton, Edun and Khadra dropping to the bench. If we show the same intent as we did against Sheff United we should beat these. COYB.

What a day that was. For a promoted side to go and win a cup in their first season back was some achievement. There's next to no chance of a promoted side doing that these days. One word to sum up that period of time. Exciting. The players we had, the football we were playing. The whole ride to the final was exciting. Thumping Arsenal along the way, the two games against Sheff Wednesday in the Semis. Talking of that Semi final, I've posted the highlights below just to look back on. Two moments of real quality from those ties: Dunny's pass at 1:38. Also, the move for Cole's goal in the return leg. Starts at 3:34 of the clip below. Brilliant. The commentator sums it up perfectly. -
I feel something is about to happen too. Remember Jim White, the day after Coyle was sacked going on a little tirade on Talksport repeatedly saying "Venky's, we're coming for you" and expressing sympathy for Coyle. It was nothing but hot air, he was never going to do anything. That felt suspect too, like he had been told to go after the owners. Unsurprisingly, that tirade was forgotten about a day or two later and nothing happened.

Now I know how the United fans felt seeing Conte go to Spurs whilst they decided to keep hold of Ole.

Thanks for the info, Paul. I'm honestly not that bothered about Lenihan leaving. I've wanted him to be replaced for a long time by a proper centre back. It would be good if the other two sign up. Let's see what happens.

Winning is the name of the game and I'm happy to see us bounce back with a good win. Freshening up the attack and midfield worked well, so fair play to Mowbray for getting it right today. Look at what can happen when we play actual wingers in their rightful positions. We've wasted so much time playing Diaz and Gallagher out wide and just in general through needless tinkering. We've got to stick with today's formation for a few games at the least. I hope this is the start of Poveda's loan spell with us. I was excited about him signing as there is a player in there. It's taken him a bit of time, but he's starting to look good now.

Ah ok, I stand corrected.

Really pleased that we got to see a player of his calibre play for us. He always has nice things to say about Rovers. Plus, he was one of very few to speak up on our behalf amidst the chaos. Fair play, Michel.- 135 replies

It's the backlash online that has wound him up. He's preparing those fans you mention in the ground to stand up against anybody who calls him out. "Tell them to shut up". The narrative is already being set that anybody who doesn't get behind this young side and criticises Mowbray isn't a proper fan. That's where the division aspect of it comes into it.
-
Oh, and isn't it odd how he says "I don't see it, I don't feel it" in relation to comments made online? Just a day or two after it was posted on here that fan comments have got to him. There have been a number of instances where it has felt as though he is responding to some of us on here. A year or so ago he said he is made aware of comments on social media, so I don't buy what he is saying.

“The guy who is shouting abuse, tell him to shut up and get on with supporting your team, that’s what would I do, that’s how I’ve always followed my team". That comment right there is what will cause fights and arguments in the stands. Just like the Kean days. The FB/twitter/LT brigade will lap that crap right up. "Get behind the lads". This interview is worse than a Kean one, insulting us with nonsense about Pep and £200m.

Dack has come out of this looking like a complete berk. I don't think this is a trivial thing either. Your team has just been humiliated and an opponent is essentially rubbing it in with a photo captioned "ruthless". Doesn't matter if it's a friend or not. To go and "like" that photo shows a lack of respect for the club and is the act of a loser. Professional pride alone would have you fuming, embarrassed and wanting to keep your head down. Would real Rovers players like Shearer, Hendry, Brad, Tugay, Flitcroft have reacted like this lot have done? Not a chance. This is indicative of the soft, loser, holiday camp mentality that has become embedded into our club over the last 11 years. We have losers hiding out in Pune and a loser in the dugout. It's bound to trickle down. I have no interest in any of the former players involved. Most of them are below average plodders who are lucky to have played for this club and none of them are a patch on the true Rovers players that we know and miss.- 135 replies

Why was it so difficult for Mowbray to say something along the following lines last night: "I just want to apologise to the fans for the result tonight. Going down to 10 men made our task difficult, but we weren't good enough on the night and Fulham had the quality to punish us. We're all hurting right now but we will be doing all we can to put things right on Saturday". You'd expect something like the above from any decent manager. The lack of an apology, the shrugging of the shoulders and the arrogance has only increased the anger that I feel. He can't use the "young lads, don't want to throw them under the bus" excuse, when he's gone and said "this is going to be on their CV forever". Honestly, he was a terrible manager, but Owen Coyle showed more respect for our club and fans than Mowbray has done.
