  1. Been in Bowland Brewery, seen David Dunn, John Buckley and Brad Lyons already... Happy Sunday lads/lasses!
  2. I’m probably classed as being on the more negative side of things (which is fair, I am what I am), but the one thing that pleases me is that we have combative midfielders that aren’t afraid to put a foot in nowadays. Been a long time since that was the case really!
  3. ‘There’s lots of positives to take from today. There’s no negativity’. I don’t know Tony, I wouldn’t call conceding three goals a positive tbh.
  4. Not the best opening paragraph, is it? ‘Tony Mowbray believes Rovers are better placed to deal with the disappointment of missing out on targets then previous summers.’
  5. But we’ve got points to play for before then.
  6. Deeply concerning to see folk like Parson saying that they won’t renew. Does make you wonder how many others like him are thinking similar.... As much as we have perhaps not seen eye to eye on football matters lately, that bloke puts my support to shame!
  7. I remember in Amsterdam (in 2012), Ajax shirts were 80 Euros!
  8. There’s a free article limit on there, but there’s a way around it regardless.
  9. That may be, but I wouldn’t want Henderson and a defensive mid in the same side tbh, far too negative, especially at home. Forgot about Maddison, he would be in for me ahead of the others too. Think Mount, like Abraham had a great start to last season, but badly faded.
  10. A little while. Used to be The Accrington Observer and a few others that have now merged.
  11. Not bad, but I’d certainly have Sancho over Rashford and probably Grealish over Phillips. I wouldn’t want two defensive midfielders in one team.
  12. The few takeaways from the last few pages of posts and my views on them all.... 1- I don’t mind that we have a salary cap, I’d rather we were more prudent financially, as we are a shit ton in debt. 2- My eternal confusion of our transfer policy is that surely, it can’t be a mystery how much players cost and how much they want to be paid. I accept I don’t work in football and have no clue about transfers, but surely, the first things you’d ask are the fee and wages?! 3- We are three days away from the start of the season and we haven’t stopped faffing yet.
  13. All sorts of rumours on Cardiff message boards. Two obvious ones are the ones that keep cropping up, though....
  14. On the one hand, I’m glad the club are communicating, but as we know from the Venky’s at the wheel, actions speak louder than words...
  15. Right but that’s fine as a one off, but as I said, with a full squad available, I’d hope we wouldn’t go with that system again.
  16. If you were happy with that performance and think it needs another go, then fair one, but I thought we were very poor against Denmark. Just stick with the tried and tested 4-3-3 when all players are fit. Simple.
  17. We experimented with three at the back last night and it failed, so let’s hope the experiment isn’t repeated. Also, Shaw isn’t a centre back, so that first one wouldn’t work.
  18. To be fair mate, we need to wait until the end of the transfer window to judge. Even if those inferior defenders we hope to replace cost us goals and ultimately points.... (Before anyone it triggered, I know that we need to stop faffing about and get on with it).
  19. Either way, those fees are a large part of the reason our pockets are considerably more shallow than they could be....
  20. Pains me to say it, but Mee or Tarkowski have got to be better than some of this lot.
  21. To be fair, so do England. Along with central midfield, we are seriously lacking compared to full back, and on the wings.
  22. That midfield is horribly poor. All graft and no craft. Trippier at left back isn’t working. We aren’t playing well, to say the least.
  23. In fairness to Mowbray, when he said ‘defenders are coming’, he never specified when....
  24. Fighting a relegation battle and doomed for relegation are not the same thing.
