  1. I can now say with certainty- I’ve recently varnished some old scaffolding boards to make into shelves at home. Watching them dry (it only took twenty minutes, what an age we live in), was more fun than watching us bottle it since the end of lockdown.
  2. What’s to discuss? Mowbray plays people out of position all the time. He shows as much passion on the sidelines as a lot of men do for going shopping with their wives. Chapman shows what Mowbray has been challenging him to show for months, then he brings fucking Bennett on instead. It’s obviously not a meritocracy. Just go away Tony.
  3. Also, was all that about Davenport hot air? No idea why he isn’t playing tonight. If ever there was a game to give the bloke a start, it would be tonight!
  4. Nah, he’s a winger. But our Tony will have him at right back instead of Nyambe if he is signed.
  5. He got a short ban for something in this thread, but then a much longer one for something he said in a different thread.
  6. Your boy that was winding everyone up has had a long ban though, so it could be worse.....
  7. I have some sympathy with them for the way the EFL has shafted them. But then, I remember the way they were happy to dance on our grave, so they can go bust for all I care.....
  8. I definitely think there will be some truth in an attitude problem, re Chapman tbh. With that being said, I’ll bet it’s tough to be motivated knowing that Gallagher and Bennett can have stinkers every week and it be less likely they will be dropped. Mowbray signed Chapman, so if he isn’t up to scratch, it also looks bad on the manager. (As well as obviously not showing Chapman in the best light either).
  9. I suppose we will never know, but the fact that Bennett and Gallagher have nightmares on the pitch (albeit out of position much of the time) show that this theory doesn’t really stack up. Unless what happens on the training pitch is more important than what happens on the actual pitch where points can be won....
  10. Come on Chaddy, can we go a bit deeper than that please?
  11. Whilst I agree that they should command greater fees than those, it’s not necessarily just about what someone is willing to pay, as much as it’s about what Venky’s are willing to accept....
  12. That Coventry link will be some throbber looking for a bite while they aren’t at school. It’s not worth the time of day.
  13. They walked away from a comfortable situation at Lincoln for a bigger challenge, which they aced and were still dismissed. So absolutely they would be keen!
  14. I googled Bamford’s wages just then. £1.8 Million a year. So, hypothetically could have bought him, not bought Gallagher and had £3 Million in change.... (I know it doesn’t work like that!)
  15. Did you miss the signings of Brereton and Gallagher and their costs? Spoiler alert, they weren’t free....
  16. There are better managers out there than Tony Mowbray, but Steve Kean is basically the anti christ where our club is concerned. I honestly think any comparisons are a gigantic stretch. Mowbray has his flaws and I regularly point them out, but Kean is in a different universe.
  17. I can’t remember what I said last week, never mind at that time. Nothing I saw from Sam Gallagher’s first spell made me think he was worth £5 Million and there’s been nothing from him since either. Brereton I want to come good so badly, but he doesn’t show £7 Million worth of talent very often....
  18. Not really, I think people just want better players, so the club can progress. Imagine a fan wanting the best for their club? We would have money if Mowbray hadn’t smashed it on Gallagher and Brereton....
  19. Did you have a preferred adjective in mind for spending £12 Million on two strikers that couldn’t finish their tea?
  20. I think this is the thing that drives me mad about blaming injuries. They wouldn’t be such an issue if the manager hadn’t spent all our money on two players that have contributed very little to the cause. We wouldn’t have missed Dack or Holtby at all if Brereton and Gallagher had scored regularly....
  21. You’re moving the goalposts by talking about his record, that’s not what I was talking about. I was saying, as per my original post, that one of the main reasons we have no money and so many FFP concerns is because we have spent £12 Million on Brereton and Gallagher. For the cost of Brereton, we could have had Patrick Bamford, who is currently playing for top of the table Leeds. It’s a funny old game....
  22. £12 Million down the swanny on two non scoring strikers and now we have no cash, as we are told we have to comply with FFP. That was what I was driving at and I suspect you knew that....
