  1. He’s been backed pretty well to be fair. If we don’t finish in the top six with how much he’s spent on forwards alone, then as far as I’m concerned, it’s a failure. The proof of the pudding is in the eating and that will be served up at the end of the season. There aren’t any prizes given out for pretty football or shots on target. Only for goals scored and points amassed by the end. It’s far too early to be making any permanent judgment calls at this stage.
  2. They don’t award any prizes in December.....
  3. To be fair, it’s the use of the word unprecedented that is bothering me.
  4. I’m not sure if this is me just being pedantic (it probably is, but whatever), but I’m getting really frustrated with injuries being mentioned as being unprecedented. It’s the exact same for every team. Because the seasons were so condensed because of 2020 and all that, everyone else has the same problem!
  5. Hi all- just a reminder, I know we are all annoyed that we’ve lost, but just remember not to start with the insults and name calling, it’s absolutely well embarrassing from grown adults. Now is not the time for point scoring from anyone.
  6. Don’t think we are in denial, just don’t think there has been much in the way of my old pal evidence (bar whispers on here).
  7. The very right of the post where the quote and + is.
  8. Are we really using people’s past views to say I told you so about a manager that’s been in the hot seat for a whopping two months? Warnock is probably as good of a championship manager as there has ever been, closely followed by Mick McCarthy. Hughton isn’t at that level, but he’s had more joy in this league than Mowbray. The style of football argument is a bit weak. The only style of football anyone should be concerned with is one that results in winning football matches....
  9. I was sure they weren’t supposed to be giving a red card and a penalty, sure it was one or the other. Granted, I may well be wrong! (Still, we got on the right side of it vs Preston!)
  10. Another reminder- can we keep politics to the ‘I can’t believe it’s not football’? Ta.
  11. We were up against it after the red card and Brentford have a team of entitled shithouses. Very glad to send them home unhappy. Also, very glad that we’ve scored a late goal again. We usually seem to end up on the wrong end of those!
  12. Hiya- someone suggested keeping politics out of football, can we also keep it off this board too? Ta.
  13. Thought that red was proper harsh tbh. Sure the ref only gave it when that peroxide prick starting gabbing in his ear, the little shit!
  14. Might be in a minority here, but I quite like that side... More steel in midfield to contain and frustrate them (so long as it works!) Got options on the bench for later too.
  15. Never actually went in there, but who could forget those windows? Iconic....
  16. Same with Ribble Valley, closer to home! Very frustrating that London boroughs with much higher infection rates are tier two....
  17. Happy to hold my hands up that when Dack was injured against Wigan, I was incredibly concerned about where the goals were going to come from. I wasn’t sure that Armstrong would fill the void. I’ll be honest, I’ve not just got egg on my face, I’ve got a week’s worth of my daily omelettes all over it and long may that continue!
  18. Funnily enough, I’m always guided by the design on a can, if I’m ever unsure. As it goes, that approach has served me well, with a lot of the craft beers!
  19. Seems like you aren’t familiar with IPA and the like. If you buy any of these in shops, these prices aren’t too foreign tbh!
  20. I think what has pleased me the most about last night and the Barnsley game at the weekend, is us being up against it, not playing that well, but still emerging with six points. Last season, I’m not sure that would have been the case! More of the same for the rest of the season please lads!
  21. Hi- just so we are clear, as I think this thread will have the potential to get views on politics involved very quickly, any views on Brexit or political parties within posts will be removed. Don’t say you weren’t warned!
  22. Yeah, and look what that has meant for our balance sheet. Hence my concern that he’s taken two years to properly get going, whatever the reasons. So basically, you’re agreeing that everyone is right to have an opinion and they all have a point?
  23. We’re Blackburn Rovers, not Man City. When we spend £7 Million on a player, we need them to be ready to get straight in the first team, we haven’t got the cash for that! I’m glad Brereton has been playing well, I’m dead pleased for him and everyone associated with the club, it’s to all our benefit that he does! However much game time he had or didn’t have doesn’t matter, he’s doing well now, so what is the issue? Does it really matter what someone nobody has ever met said online two years ago? The way people are going on is like fans were regularly sending Brereton those kidnap style letters with words cut out of newspapers. (Obviously red tops, such letter writers would be too thick to read broadsheets).
