  1. Because Chaddy, it’s absolutely galling to hear our manager and board refer to FFP concerns when they are only a concern because of those transfers. It takes some front for Mowbray to sit there knowing that. I’m sure you repeat yourself regularly (as we all do) but people leave you to it. If you don’t like it, just keep scrolling and don’t respond?
  2. People will talk about it as even if he has taken a pay cut, he’s likely to be one of our highest earners and he’s not earning his money. Whilst it isn’t his fault he’s largely being played out of position, he has failed miserably overall and is a big contributor to why we have such FFP concerns.
  3. To be fair, as other teams have done, we could have spent less money on players that would have made more of an impact and given them more wages....
  4. Just for Chaddy’s attention and that of everyone else- nobody will be banned for having an argument and Chaddy definitely wasn’t.
  5. It still absolutely baffles me that Mowbray has created our problem with FFP and then is able to use it as an excuse for us not signing anyone new.
  6. Hi James, you’re clearly reading this and I see you’ve made me twitter famous without my permission. I don’t do twitter, so I can’t reply on there, but I don’t allow you my permission to post my content, so delete the post and we can leave it there. Thanks.
  7. Whilst I agree with what you’re saying, I think we would have bottled it, had we been close anyhow...
  8. It was put to bed ages ago. There was concern he would start today because of our injury list, but it looks like that concern was misguided.
  9. Mowbray said top 6 was the aim. So if we don’t reach the top 6, then he’s not met his own expectations, wouldn’t that be fair to say?
  10. Even with the amount of injuries we have, it’s the wrong call to play Bennett as a number 10. At a push, he should play wide right, and that’s only because literally anyone that’s a winger should be playing right wing instead of Gallagher, who’s been awful there every time. Granted, it’s not his fault that Mowbray keeps picking him there.
  11. He makes a fair point, to be honest. It wouldn’t hurt for posterity, to check the write up from the last meeting and checked what was promised vs. what was actually delivered....
  12. I swear to God, we are the only club that doesn’t judge a manager on this metric....
  13. It’s a bit early for me on a week night to get back after work, but I’d be keen to go to another in future!
  14. It wasn’t an open forum, there were only five places from here available!
  15. I saw it and agreed but didn’t tell you until now...
  16. No match day surcharges. No £40+ match day tickets for any game. I agree with Tomphil’s pricing idea. I don’t think we can really complain about the price of season tickets, without devaluing the product, to be honest.
  17. I’m on here as much as I can be. (I mostly skim read during breaks at work and also in the evening, but, believe it or not, I have a life too!) As we always say, if there’s anything particularly offensive to you, or anyone (even if it’s a post about people being over the top in their criticism of a player!!)- hit the report button, all the mods then get an email notifying us of this. Therefore, we can go right to the post in question, bar sifting through threads that get very busy at times!
  18. We’ve obviously got different standards of what is acceptable. Point me to an example of criticism of Bennett that is over the top and I’ll tell you what I think. You’re on here often enough, so it shouldn’t be that tough for you... As you wish! Walton Nyambe Lenihan Tosin Bell Travis Johnson Chapman Downing Rankin-Costello Armstrong
  19. You’ll have to point me to an example, as I haven’t seen any personal criticism, just a lot of criticism of his ability, which is fair game, really. I’ve no idea tbh, I’d have to see the injury list...
  20. But, our best XI doesn’t included Bennett, even now, with loads of injuries. He isn’t good enough to get in the team, so he shouldn’t be in it, it’s no more complicated than that, for me. People have just observed on that in the past. I think he’s a good squad player, but no more than that. He’s been a good servant, but there is no room for sentiment in football. The only way the criticism would be over the top would be, if they were slagging off his family, but I haven’t seen anything of the sort to be fair. I’m sure if there’s an example though @Bigdoggsteel, you’ll point me to it! The bare minimum of a footballer is to put in his maximum effort, so I’m glad he does that! With that being said, I’d still rather see him out wide, instead of Gallagher, as at least he has played there for most of his career.
  21. I know that, but there were two posts containing praise, in fairness. I agree that is something that appears to be lacking from his game. Fire in his belly and all that!
  22. 2 posts in this thread, towards the top.. I think the overwhelming emotion with him is one of frustration. It’s not his fault he cost what he did. It’s not his fault the manager plays him out wide. But, for our sake, we need him to start delivering, as we can’t buy anyone else because we’ve waxed a lot of money on him...
  23. To be fair, people have given him credit, but fans are concerned as we have spent a lot of our money on this guy and subsequently have concerns re FFP. Also, for one reason and another, he hasn’t delivered. When can he stand up on his own two feet and be judged as a full member of the squad?
