  1. Did you miss the signings of Brereton and Gallagher and their costs? Spoiler alert, they weren’t free....
  2. There are better managers out there than Tony Mowbray, but Steve Kean is basically the anti christ where our club is concerned. I honestly think any comparisons are a gigantic stretch. Mowbray has his flaws and I regularly point them out, but Kean is in a different universe.
  3. I can’t remember what I said last week, never mind at that time. Nothing I saw from Sam Gallagher’s first spell made me think he was worth £5 Million and there’s been nothing from him since either. Brereton I want to come good so badly, but he doesn’t show £7 Million worth of talent very often....
  4. Not really, I think people just want better players, so the club can progress. Imagine a fan wanting the best for their club? We would have money if Mowbray hadn’t smashed it on Gallagher and Brereton....
  5. Did you have a preferred adjective in mind for spending £12 Million on two strikers that couldn’t finish their tea?
  6. I think this is the thing that drives me mad about blaming injuries. They wouldn’t be such an issue if the manager hadn’t spent all our money on two players that have contributed very little to the cause. We wouldn’t have missed Dack or Holtby at all if Brereton and Gallagher had scored regularly....
  7. You’re moving the goalposts by talking about his record, that’s not what I was talking about. I was saying, as per my original post, that one of the main reasons we have no money and so many FFP concerns is because we have spent £12 Million on Brereton and Gallagher. For the cost of Brereton, we could have had Patrick Bamford, who is currently playing for top of the table Leeds. It’s a funny old game....
  8. Samuel is appalling and needs to go.
  9. £12 Million down the swanny on two non scoring strikers and now we have no cash, as we are told we have to comply with FFP. That was what I was driving at and I suspect you knew that....
  10. We were loyal to him in the transfer market and he’s let us down badly....
  11. Trust me, I’m more like one of those in bold, but I don’t think that’s as widely shared of a view by the fan base as a whole as it is on here....
  12. It’s a shame Mowbray waxed £12 Million on two poor strikers. If he hadn’t, we might still have some money for squad improvements....
  13. That twitter thread is classic buck passing. Bennett gets criticised regularly for regularly playing poorly and making mistakes. The same as Walton.
  14. You see, I don’t think this forum is representative as the fans as a whole. You only need to look at the Facebook groups, the official pages on social media and the LT comments section to see that. Many won’t accept any criticism of Mowbray, which is frustrating. Many are over critical and many under critical. Controversial, but I think that league one season did Mowbray the word of good and some dismiss any criticism of Mowbray as over the top and ‘it’s all Mowbray’s fault’. No room for discussion, people are that entrenched in their views. For balance, that cuts the same, the other way. Maybe it’s just representative of modern society....
  15. As much as I’d like that to be true, I don’t honestly think they care that much.
  16. Apparently we ‘shouldn’t hang on every word Mowbray says’, or something like that. (If it shows him up, otherwise, it’s fine).
  17. He’s been a reasonable enough servant, but our best eleven doesn’t contain him. Now is the time to get rid. Do I think Mowbray will do so? Absolutely not.
  18. So much I agree with in the last few posts. Good work everyone. Whilst I fully agree that the injury to Dack was a hammer blow, that isn’t the main thing that has cost us, we still could have made it, owing to Arma seriously stepping up (sorry for doubting you lad, you’ve been amazing!) if it weren’t for the below: Incredibly poor team selections, bizarre and inexplicable tactics, insistence on including Elliott Bennett ahead of superior players in their natural position, playing players out of position, a lack of natural width, a lack of depth in defence, an inferior goalkeeper replacing the one with the joint most clean sheets that we sold to a team now third in the league and the piece de la resistance- £12 Million on two strikers that couldn’t hit a cow’s backside with a frying pan. When you think £7 Million could have signed Patrick Bamford, who’s at table topping Leeds, it’s enough to make you want to put your head in the oven! The lack of accountability from local journalists is a massive bug bear for me as well. I can understand why they treat Mowbray with kid gloves as it might hinder future access to content, but it’s still absolutely pathetic.
  19. Listen, I’m not saying he hasn’t been a bit disappointing overall, as he most definitely has. But he’s contributed much more than the 3.5 he was given, as far as I’m concerned. A 5 at best like....
  20. Think the OP has been harsh on Johnson and generous with Holtby. Barring that though, I’m pretty much in agreement.
  21. You see, that would make sense. Unfortunately, not much they’ve done since owning the club has....
  22. You’re giving them far too much credit. They don’t care that much.
  23. I think I’m done watching our games for the rest of the season, but I’ll keep an eye out for the score.
  24. Mowbray set us a target of 70 points this season. After tonight, the maximum we can reach is 66. I’m sure that won’t be his fault though.
  25. The drinks breaks are the only thing matching just how embarrassing we’ve been tonight.
