  1. You’re right, it doesn’t. But then, Chaddy didn’t mention that and neither did I.....
  2. But the latter rely heavily on gate receipts. Which they won’t get if there are no fans allowed....
  3. I know that’s the plan, but it shouldn’t be. Football without fans is nothing. Anyhow, a lot of the players are scared for their own safety as has been emerging, who could blame them? It should be a return to normal, or not at all. In times of a crisis, people show their true colours and this is one such example. Money is gazumping the needs of the lifeblood of the game, which is wrong. Football family, eh?
  4. Absolutely, The Sun talking nonsense again. I’m missing football as much as anyone else, but it should only restart when it’s safe to do so for players, staff and fans. This health crisis trumps football and it can bloody well wait! As an aside, I always find it a little odd when links from that rag are shared on a forum, with their previous!
  5. Behind closed doors football is an absolutely pathetic idea, especially abroad IMO. Get it finished over here, in front of stadiums with fans, or just null and void it, if that’s not possible. Just proves that money is more important than the supporters, as if there was any doubt! Also, re the Preston comments- I think that relates to their manager saying that clubs who have furloughed staff, therefore saving money, shouldn’t then be allowed to smash loads of transfer fees when the season restarts. Seems fair enough to me tbh.
  6. D Block Europe- Playing for keeps
  7. Almost like you could have not opened this thread and cracked on with something you find more interesting....
  8. That’s absolutely excellent news and I’m sure everyone on the forum is with me in wishing you a speedy recovery!
  9. You get a fair few free a month anyhow. Just select ‘skip survey’ then you’ll be good to go!
  10. You must be within your free article limit. There are ways around it though....
  11. What if more marketable players are worse at football though? Whilst I’m keen for improvements to anything commercial, we are a football club first and foremost. Success on the pitch breeds success elsewhere.
  12. Blackburn Rovers is a football club, so it stands to reason that we need the people that are the best at football we can possibly attain in order for us to be as competitive as possible. Not sure where the link to FFP comes in tbh. I don’t think I’d ever say you were boring, obsessed about things which don’t have any significance many years later? Possibly....
  13. To be honest, your post fell into the ‘TLDR’ category. I’m not bothered about how marketable they are, I’m bothered about how good they are at football. That should be the primary consideration and I’m surprised I had to spell that out really.
  14. The point of the academy at the moment is that it has provided roughly half of the first team!
  15. Some may find this view controversial and just to reiterate, finishing the season behind closed doors should be a last resort for me. But, if the season wasn’t scrapped...... In light of the exceptional circumstances, if the aim was to finish the season behind closed doors and the remaining games were streamed for free, personally, I wouldn’t want any money back from my season ticket which was paid up. It seems likely that clubs including ours will be struggling after all this, so if I can help in any way to keep us going, then I’d be happy to do that. Call it in lieu of the promotions I’ve seen, the league cup win and obviously the title win in 1995..... Yes, obviously, I’d rather be sat at Ewood, surrounded by fellow blues, but if it isn’t possible, then it seems like a fair enough compromise to me.
  16. Shite, ain’t it? State of that sponsor....
  17. Lovely lad, went to school with my cousin (who’s from Southport). Great news.
  18. Dilated People/Kanye West- This Way
  19. They were definitely sold with the ASICS badge at the time. I have one here! The club did bring out a retro re release without said ASICS badge though. I recall seeing it in the shop and a few with them in the stands.
  20. What you doing when Mowbray leaves? I’d be throwing my hat in the ring with a glittering CV like that!
  21. From memory, 2008 and a couple before were on the 360. But I don’t think it went any further than that....
  22. No offence intended, but he’s not going to say anything different right about now, is he? Football is on hold and they will be desperate to talk about anything to pass some time.
  23. U.K. and Ireland- so you’ll be needing a new GK
