Couldn’t agree more. Fair enough, his finishing probably could improve, but his numbers are way better than Rashford’s and before anyone says ‘but Rashford plays out wide a lot of the time’, so does Sterling. Don’t get me wrong, I love Rashford and they should both be starting, but since Sterling was scapegoated a couple of years ago, people just don’t ever seem to take to him. (Even when there were loads of other players that were truly hideous at the last Euros). It’s a funny old game.

His comments about Sol Campbell are just ludicrous. Campbell doesn’t get jobs because he’s a whopper with a massive chip on his shoulder, it’s not complicated. Re Downing, his form really did drop at a time to be fair. He had looked very good initially, but maybe that was down to the calming influence of Mulgrew. Then Lenihan came back and he was dropped, so it wasn't really an issue after that.

I'm going to Parklife on Sunday, I initially got my ticket just because of Jamie XX, but turns out there are loads of other bands I'll be keen to watch. House music wise- Jamie XX, Four Tet, Bicep, Carl Cox, then otherwise- Everything Everything, Chvrches and Skepta. I might just give Liam Gallagher a pass.....

Northern Ireland has a smaller population than Scotland, so does Wales and they've still qualified for tournaments more recently. Hence the population thing doesn't really wash. Seems like the problem runs a bit deeper tbh....

Iceland, Croatia and Belgium also have small populations..... Though I'm not that keen on some of the snobbery in these posts, I mainly created this thread to stop all the Scottish discussion dominating the transfer thread!
