  1. Some very strange snobbery in the last few posts. I was born in Accrington and have had a season ticket for 30 years. Despite the fact I’ve spent thousands on home and away tickets, merchandise, food and drink, it seems like I’m not needed any more though….
  2. Horrible, that one. I’ll never forget Schmeichel vomiting at the side of the pitch 🙈.
  3. Someone sound has copied and pasted it into another thread, if you wanted a butcher’s?
  4. I think overall, this is a really good community tbh. I’ve met people from the forum in real life who are sound and I’d class them as pals. I also know quite a few people that post on here too that I knew already. Does the ‘group think’ lean towards the negative side? Probably. Is that because of the damage Venky’s have done to the club since they’ve owned us? I’d say most definitely. I suspect there’s more to it than that, but- some people are glass half full, some glass half empty. It’s only pixels on a screen, in any event. What doesn’t help, is people telling people what to think and when they’re allowed to make judgments. Or conversely, when people are labelled ‘happy clappers’ when they have a different viewpoint. Everyone had a right to their opinion, however much you may disagree with them. Whether that be politics (not in the football forum please), music, food, or anything else that may matter to you in life the most. From this forum, I’ve picked up a few things- whether that’s new metaphors, improved vocabulary or even putting myself forward to be a mod, or to be on the fans forum, I’d say as a whole, it’s been massively beneficial on a personal level. Do I spend far too much time on here? Absolutely, it’s bordering on obsession. But, that’s mostly due to being obsessed with the fortunes of the club that is the reason we all visited here in the first place. On this forum, as with life in general, I think we need to focus on what unites us, rather than what divides us. Anyway, I’m rambling. Enjoy this hot weather everyone- it won’t be about forever!
  5. You seem unfamiliar with Ayala’s injury record?
  6. Whilst obviously any promotion is a great achievement, I loved that season and Mowbray certainly deserves a lot of credit for it…. It was a much weaker league one when we were promoted. There was only Wigan and Shrewsbury (who ultimately fell away of course) for competition.
  7. Name me a more delicious beverage than the tears of PNE fans? You can’t, because there isn’t one.
  8. All that stuff only became an issue when we were losing games. If he was a miserable swine, but we were winning, I don’t imagine it ever would have been mentioned.
  9. I doubt that anyone will ever look upon last season’s collapse as anything other than a disaster tbf.
  10. To be fair, far too many put far too much stock into one man’s bets that he posts on here. Everyone could always just keep on scrolling right past them. If he’s as shite at predictions as people say he is, I’d just ignore him? 🤷‍♂️.
  11. We thought that before we played Wigan (then league one) last season and that didn’t turn out as we hoped!
  12. We won 3-0 away from home. At a stadium we have never won at before (if I’m not mistaken). That’s surely a win, whatever side of the fence you reside on.
  13. I mean, I’m sure everyone thinks that about someone’s view on here. Ideally, people would just debate instead of trying to be amateur mods and shutting debate down, alas- that hasn’t been happening.
  14. It isn’t, but I’ve got to at least try and maintain a semblance of harmony. I do love a challenge though!
  15. A shame I have to remind adults of this- but if you disagree with someone, that’s absolutely fine, but you’ll look a lot better if you tell them why you think they’re wrong, instead of shutting them down by calling them negative, or a moaner. Everyone has a different opinion and they’re entitled to it, too!
  16. Yeah, but whatever you may think about someone’s opinion, they’re still entitled to it though.
  17. Imagine people loving a player that plays for their club and came through the academy….
  18. Some guy got caught fiddling with a horse in Blackburn ages ago I think, so they latched onto it.
  19. Basically what Mike said. Report posts and don’t clog up the threads responding to posts that you don’t think should be allowed, replying to these posts invalidates any complaints. Sometimes mods have the audacity to go out with girls on a Wednesday night…. (It went well, seeing her again Friday, thanks for asking).
  20. Really happy with that today. Thought we played well, Brittain looks promising and Vale didn’t disgrace himself, but needs more minutes I think. The main positive for me- last ten minutes, normally with Rovers, I’m bricking it and expect us to concede, but was the most contented in ages, as we were so comfortable. Let’s get some new bodies in and build on this. Onwards and upwards.
  21. Delighted there’s real football back today. Just so we’ve something to talk about other than meltdowns, people’s need to relax, confusion about why people are so relaxed, not judging until the end of the transfer window and last but not least…. People on Rovers’ Facebook page angry reacting to the fact Ewood is cashless. The football club we all adore is what unites us and thank Christ they’re playing again today!
  22. I think too much is being made of Dack being able/unable to play the pressing game tbh. JDT was a very good player and I imagine he will appreciate the talents of our number 23 on this basis. Dack can play a bit himself and has consistenly shown himself (when fit) to be the best finisher at the club. I’m sure our manager will be able to squeeze him in, with this in mind….
  23. Cheaper tickets in the middle of a cost of living crisis and a poor area wouldn’t hurt, would it? Bigger picture is that means more bums on seats, more money spent on the concourse, therefore, more revenue. It’s a poor do when PNE and Bolton are selling far more season tickets than us in comparable areas. Made even worse by Bolton being in a division below!
  24. If you’re gonna make wild accusations like that, you’re going to need to give some examples.
