  1. Rubbish, we now have a bit of know how in the midfield, a quality crosser of the ball who can actually bet the first defender and a midfield general who has a nasty streak with some worldly quality about him as well. Now that is a massive upgrade on Conway and Evans/Smallwood!
  2. Let’s be honest Raya is not the be all and end all of keeping he is and was a liability stop making him out to be a world beater he was no better than the fabled John butcher
  3. Thing is he hasn’t spent £7m has he it’s a deal with increments Merc and when people accept this they can move in
  4. Throughout the years we have lost loads of keepers who were head and shoulders above what Raya was and is and we improved sir Roger, Bradshaw, Gennoe, Arnold, Given, Flowers, Freidel to name but a few. There is no doubt that TM will have a replacement ready to replace him. Someone has already mentioned £3m from an academy prospect to continue the theme of producing players for profit. That’s what we are right now. Be positive
  5. Mercer can’t wait to see what job you pick up in the football league with your expert knowledge of all things football! Of course TM knows what he is doing he’s been in footie for 30 or more years as a top pro and decent manager whereas you? Raya is not the best keeper around small in stature but good shot stopper he is not a commanding figure and he makes some calamitous decisions as we saw last season costing us points .
  6. Just like selling Perez for 35 million WITHOUT a manager
  7. If Raya could command the 6 yard box he would be a class keeper, trouble is he doesn’t won’t nor will he ever do! Cash in whilst we can and get a quality keeper in, happy with links to Darlow. Gally would be a quality addition, can play different styles, would complement both Graham and BB, win headers, play central,or wide or just go direct with a 4-4-2 formation when required especially with a quality supply line in Dack and Downing. Looks like patience is paying off for some????
  8. Thinks it’s perfectly clear in TM’s message be PATIENT things are clearly happening behind the scenes and might take a bit to get over the line.
  9. Who says I haven’t Stuart? Some bang on about opinions and not accepting them? Irony ? Of course it is. Wind up? There’s no wind up from me it’s an observation, iirc the advice would be to keep on scrolling. Dont need to chat to myself about my own view but how’s about your comment about being a wind up and a rule breaker?
  10. You mean for your record Stuart? The furore I mentioned doesn’t say it’s about this message board does it? If you have a look at a number of SMedia sites there is imo of course a furore about Adam training with us. I will accept though it’s about how one define furore ???
  11. Oh the furore regarding Charlie Adam! To get out of this league a club needs an experienced hand to help. We have had 2 examples in recent years. Gordon Cowans - an old ageing pro played a part at our club bringing skill, nouse and most importantly balance and know how. Wasn’t the fastest but was a success. Kevin Moran - need I say more? Tony Gale - oldest freebie signing ever? Brought quality, know how and balance to help the younger players succeed. There are other examples, Mick Duxbury, Frank Stapleton, Archibald, Ardiles. Granted not everyone a roaring success but you get the picture. So for me Adam is more defensively aware than Evans or Smallwood, he has more attacking verve, football ability and know how than the midfield put together and IMO would be a fantastic model for the younger element such as Travis. He isn’t going to cost the earth so why not if he is fit and mobile? We have seen how good he can be, and I accept he has a nasty side to him as well but isn’t that something Rovers have lacked since Toddy was at the club? A player with fight, balls and creativity to boot? Thats my view
  12. Thing with Brentford is this. New ground to be paid for as it nears completion. They will be awash with cash when they sell two top players Maupay and Konza which could see amounts in the region of £32 million if the press related figures are to be believed as accurate which should give Rovers a better bargaining chip, if they want him then they must pay the going rate for him. As for selling Raya? I am not totally convinced by him, I do think he is a great shot stopper but NOT a commanding keeper of his 6 yard box, and this is an area where Rovers heavily conceded goals which ultimately cost us last year. A better keeper? Is there anyone around to fill the void left if Raya is sold? Again, I am not sure there is quality out there that we could afford within reason. I do not think Lutwieller is up to it and whilst Fisher may be a good prospect he is too young to blood at this stage. At the end of the day, Rovers will do what is deemed best for the club. So its a case of wait and see!
  13. Firstly I have to point out that I respect others opinions on this forum and I have not despite some suggestion slated members off on a persistent basis. Secondly, there is a lot more going on behind the scenes at Ewood than anyone on here will ever know and on that basis TM and co SHOULD be given due credit and that includes Waggott who IMo has done ever so well after what’s gone before in the past 8 years or so. Thirdly, it’s all fair and well being critical however some of it borders on rancid persistent rubbish and speculation, it’s this bit that bores the pants off readers on this forum and when one highlights this they are instantly set about! Fourthly, discussion is all fair and well, but for it to be a progressive conversation or exchange of views, there has to be some element or basis of truth BUtT the fact remains, in particular to this thread, there hasn’t been one shred of evidence to back up the speculative theories! There have been some wonderful contributors in these forums over the year but who no longer participate and that’s a shame. Whether they are barred, banned, suspended or whatever, the fact remains they are no longer here because of the abuse dished out. If there is any business being conducted at Rovers then I would suggest waiting for the club to announce it before over reacting to social media outburst and the daily fail news! Other than that have a great Sunday, 3 weeks u TIL a day out at Ibrox???
  14. Another daily implosion on the forum! has anyone considered that it might just be kidology on Mowbray behalf? There isn’t anyone on this forum that’s has a clue what is or what is not going on behind the scenes! I get that people are frustrated but that is borne out of not thinking about the bigger picture! Anyone who thinks we are not going to see a new defender or forward coming in are deluded, things take time just look at Championship signings in total, there hasn’t been many. TM will be looking at how the players react post close season, he will be monitoring and analysing his options that is for sure. I think he actually knows what he is doing far more than people on here give him credit for ?
  15. Tickets secured for Ibrox looking forward to visiting and watching Rovers play there. Great memories of Scotland from my time in the forces and saw quite a few old firm games. Btw train tickets are getting more expensive!
  16. MB where do I ever say I am not behind the club? It’s an observation that once again marketing strategy is poor and has been very much the same since Beamo was in charge?? if someone had an ounce of common dog they might have changed it a little to excite the fans yet as we reach the end of June all we know is that we have 2 kits being released on sale end of July! A preview would be great, a statement would nice just to evolve a little bit of interest
  17. Piss poor marketing by Rovers once again. Who is behind this commercial butt****?
  18. Let’s have some names then! I’ve followed footie for 50 yrs or so and in this current age I don’t see any other than the two brothers who WONT take jobs higher up the leagues as they are too inexperienced, other than that??
  19. I see we still havent had any suggestions as to who the young talented managers are who can come in and better! I appreciate it its an obscure forum but if its discussionable then lets have the discussion. Truth is, there are NO young decent managers out there who would be able to make a mark at Ewood Park. We tried it with Ince, Berg and Appleton and they ALL failed miserably. There is so much good about the club in comparison to the last 7 years, love or hate venkys, they have to be acknowledged for allowing the Academy to flourish after initial abysmal raping of the clubs finances and gross mismanagement within the club. Its now time to be a bit more positive about the club if we can. 6 weeks to get ready for Charlton. I am sure TM and co will have the players he wants at the club. BRFC get behind the club
  20. Mowbray has worked a miracle at Ewood and yet so many judge him in ten negative sense. Where are the young hungry talented managers that can do better? Where are the players that can somehow be bought with the vast amount of cash we find ourselves aflush with? The stock answer is this, TM is the man to carry on the rebuilding work, we have seen nothing but gradual success since he came in to the club. What is the issue with progression? Some fans expect more but we pee with the todger we have got and that means walk before running. I believe with a little bit of tinkering and a better centre half such as Hanley, Rovers can progress to the top 6 quite easily with this squad and the young raw talent we have coming through. Some fans need to believe a bit more, support and get behind the team both on and off the park.
  21. Fixtures out, nearly the claim your seat deadline YET we still haven’t had any insight to the kit design! Poor sales strategy from BRFC once again. It gets even more amateurish every year??
