  1. Hello all, some of you already know me, I am a personal friend of Abbey, Preston Blue, Den and Baz, Ozzy as well as many others. I am 40 odd yrs old, been going to Ewood Park since I was 4 years old and originally hail from Mill Hill (State 4 as it was in those very early days). Massive Rovers fan, been to every ground that Rovers have played on away from home since I began, have visited over 98 league grounds, done each and every Scottish midden tip, followed Rovers in Europe and have also managed 4 grounds in Northern Ireland. Now happily seperated from my wife with 2 adult children aged 23 and 18 and back "home" in Wheelton where I currently live. Avatar gives my job away. Work in Preston the Millenium City and have done for almost 20 years, prior to that served Queen and Country in The Royal Navy. Love music and reading and an avid fisherman.
  2. There is a cracking deal in the papeers for the C Cup Final. Ticket, travel, bandb overnight travelling from Chorley, Leigh and Bolton £129.00.
  3. Anyone got any of the books written by Lee Childs - characterises a bloke called Jack Reacher ? Read one in Tenerife last week and found it quite good. if anyone has any others of the series of 10 let me know. thanks
  4. Lucash was a rtoaring sccess wasnt he ? Sutton flopped spectacularly at Chelsea. Warhurst and Batty never progressed to any sort of success. Thats another 4 to the list.
  5. Been trawling through you tube and Garners goals are shown in a move titled Garner.
  6. David Dunn has just scored for east Sterling !!
  7. FANTASTIC oZZ I had set sail for the shores of the Caribbean on the Friday before the Wolves game and as we messed around of the coast of Portugal I nearly died and went to heaven as Rovers were winning 1-0 at half time. After a fire exercise I returned to the radio on bfbs to find that City had won, pompy had also won as well as Rovers. With the city and popy fans onboard I was absolutely gutted to lose out and miss a promotion chance. I took soe serious stick but beleive e my Rovers sirts went everywhere with me and I have a fantastic picture of a blue and white halved shirt in the centre of Nassau market with me and a fellow Rovers supporter from that beautiful place.
  8. Ultra violent ? Dont make me laugh, they are nothing short of brain dead idiots. Hunting in packs not one can ever do a one on one. Watching some fo them today made me simply laugh. hardmen ? Dont think so, I have passed harder poo than them. The saddest thing about leaving the ground today with 20 minutes to go was the sight of the ladies crying after what they had witnessed. I only hope tha the witnesses have the bottle to come forward to name and shame the people involved. Its yet an utter tragedy borne out of nothing but sheer mindless violence.
  9. As good as a player Benni is, he has turned out to be nothing more than a sulking, lazy fat, mercenary footballer. I dont think that you can criticise anyone at the club other than himself. If he cant lose weight why should the club bend over backwards for him ? Everyone else seems to be able to meet their targets. I am glad the lazy to$4er has left us, the fella is a disgrace no matter how good he thinks he is.
  10. Rovers issue statement about fat lads no show at training.
  11. And the fat one shows his professionalism by remaining overweight despite the extra tranining and warnings from the club. Does that make McCarthy a positive for Rovers ? IMO he is a liability, an accident waiting to happen. He constantly flicks out at the ball and causes us trouble in the middle of the park a bit like Andrews does when he chases the ball. I say get rid now and take the money. He isnt going to play for SA no matter which club he plays for. He has lost his pace, lost his eye for goal, cant be bothered because the money he has made is playing too much on his mind a bit like the rolls of fat around his stomach.
  12. McCarthy is just emphasising how far detached from relaity some footballers actually are. You fat lazy truck, get the pounds off like you have been asked, get fit and everything else will fall into place. Dont want to rock the boat yet you moan to the press. Your not good enough right now to even be a sub for SA at the World Cup so the ONUS is most definately on you to perform to the best of your ability. You take your wage fromt he club without whingeing now take the flak and get on with it. And whilst your at it, kick the shyte out of Andrews will you.
  13. A Rovers legend of yesteryear. I used to idolise The Don and Stu Metcalfe, along with Beamo, Hird and Heaton. Now those days are long gone it is sad when a past hero passes on. Very sad to hear the news.
  14. I listened to the report on SSN, what a sad ending to a life. He had major issues over the death of his daughter, then he adopts a child and still cannot get over grieving for his lost child. Such a sad sad story.
  15. Speak to people who KNOW the story. He hasnt been doing the business on the training ground and hasnt even passed the required fitness tests that the players are subjected to. Attitude problem, likes too many big macs and beers and has a seriously big headed attitude according to many. Once he knuckles down there is no doubting his class. I would LOVE a back to basic Benni McCarthy in a Rovers shirt becasue he has the class, he has gotten too big for his boots and needed a reality check.
  16. Gally is on the pitch at Barcodes FC v Leicester. He hasnt made that much of an impression, but saying that neither has anyone apart from Harper the keeper.
  17. More local went to East is East on Chirch Street, Preston on Friday. Meal was absolutely gorgeous. Average cost for popadoms, starter and main course with 3 bottles of Cobra was £18 per head (inc tip). Probably the best curry in Preston at the moment
  18. The wife has obtained a series of free tickets through the brewery so we will be partaking in some of the afternoons and evenings, its all down to what she wants. The problms begin when you have had so much free ale you just cant see who is throwing what and what scores they are notching
  19. Its funny watching the supporters forlorn faces on sky sports news. Look ever so worried dont they ?
  20. I was there. I was working at Whitehall at the time on a 5 week stint. Most frightening day out EVER after the game.
  21. Just how ironic was it that a fine player like Diver Dogbreath is shouting down the microphone "its a disgrace, its an effing disgrace". Dogbreath, a fine player youmay be but in simple mans terms YOU ARE A CHEAT You cheated your own fans by feigning injury and then whining like a child losing its dummy when you were subbed. You cheated yourself. You cheated the club by diving and falling over every time a Barca player came near you. It is YOU that is the disgrace. It matters not that the ref was a clown in denying at least 2 blatant penalties, you missed the easiest chances in the two legs, one at the Nou Camp and one last night. There is NO conspiracy theory. Barca lost a man sent off when he shouldnt have been, Essien should have been red carded. PLUS after all that if your defence had cleared the ball properly Barca would never have had the chance to score. To see your pug ugly mush bellowing the spiteful abuse just made every football fan smile last night. Your childish and cheating antics COST YOUR CLUB, YOU and YOU ONLY.
  22. It may well be the type of club that he was at that may contribute to his problems. At City he was vaunted as the future England central midfield general. Being at City maybe cost him his will to win as a footballer and gave him his big head, hence City cashed in and he moved on. Newcastle United ? Need anyone say anymore. Its not the type of club you go to unless you can deal with pressures of in your face media/fans and a club that thinks its the biggest and best. Its not a place for egos. After his well publicised indiscretions he fell foul of the newcastle fishbowl. Maybe at a club like Blackburn Rovers he could flourish again. There is no doubting his talent given the right platform. He is an exquisite footballeer, we have seen his skills on display at City. He can score, he can tackle, he can create in fact apart form his height, he is very much the complete footballing midfielder. I just wonder though if any club or manager can curb the demons he so clearly has within his psychological make up.
  23. ...Still doesnt alter the fact he is a cheating soab
  24. Come on Hughsey, if anyone thought Torres was a good goal at Liverpoo then this one by Clownaldo is magnificent
