  1. Our single aim has to be promotion first and foremost, there is little doubt about that. In saying that, for Rovers I believe the aim has to be to keep the distance between - or indeed widen the distance - between us and 3rd place. That means not losing the games I highlighted. We are unlikely to be able to catch Fulham as it stands so, if we get to the game at Craven Cottage and the gap is the same, 7 points or more, then for me its a free hit as long as we are doing the business in the other games. That's the point I was making.
  2. I think those teams you mention might just be thinking very much the same as Rovers who are as relentless as those and Fulham!
  3. I don't see there being many goals, 1 goal takes it but for me I would take a draw in this match. A tough game, Luton will be up for it and what we don't need is silly own goals and poor defending to undo us.
  4. IMO Maja isnt a priority signing just yet. I would go for a young up coming premiership forward who wants to make an impression and who can make an immediate impact. Young Delap would be my choice, alternatively a player like Hugill might be an option - he has been recalled by Norwich or is in the process of being. Good in the air, causes mayhem when played and can hold the ball well.
  5. Stoke City at home MIGHT just be a defining game in this fabulous season. That's my prediction based on the next 14/15 games. For simply selfish reasons alone, I am hoping the nobbers game will be moved to the Monday night - as we are on a do in Poland and dont get back until late Sunday evening the night before - because that might just be the scene for another promotion party🤑
  6. Looking ahead, QPR and Forest are MUST NOT LOSE games, in fact if we can win them thats all that matter. Fulham away is a free hit if you ask me.
  7. Just a set of runts with a huge C😅
  8. There is little doubt that there is incompetence and shocking performances in the lower leagues than there is in the PL.
  9. If referees are "suspended" or removed from games it is highlighted in the media with reasons why. We have previously seen premiership refs demoted to Championship games or lower. In respect of current EFL refs, there have not been any such reports so on that basis alone, no action is ever taken against poor performing refs. I am also not just coming from a Rovers fan point of view, its evident on tv games and from fans forums about poor refereeing this season.
  10. Rovers allocation will be 5000 for nobbers away, Blackpool is payback for them refusing to up their allocation similar to the Rovers numbers because of public safety
  11. The other night v Boro was a different type of scenario for him, we were under the cosh and he had to play a bit deeper which isn't his normal game. I believe there is a very good player in Butterworth, he will come good but may benefit from a loan period especially for next season. His style of play will suit Rovers and I think that he will be very useful as we approach the end of the season games.
  12. They clearly are not professional and they are evidently unaccountable! When do we see a ref or the referees association coming out and explaining decisions, good or bad? We don't because they are unaccountable and incompetently run. Why do we continually see incompetent refs at games, for example the Hull game last week? When do we ever see consistence in refereeing apart from them being consistently poor? Why do we never see referees suspended from refereeing games because of incompetent performances? We don't because of the incompetent way they are managed. Refereeing in the lower leagues is abominably poor, some refs are fat, some are just useless, some havent a clue and some are just about themselves not the football, not the two teams and want to take centre stage.
  13. If Rovers want to get the interest of wavering fans who are "watching on" then the time is right now to get a ticket deal to cover the following games: Millwall, QPR, Bristol C and Derby - 2 night games and 2 weekend games. Get the deal out there, 4 games for the price of 3 and all at £20 a shot. The ground could be swelled by a few thousand as neither Millwall, Bristol or QPR will bring a decent following as all are poorly supported away from home, so stick them in the upper reaches of the Darwen End and open the lower Darwen for home fans. I don't see Derby bringing more than 1500-2000, so again stick them up top and fill the end with Rovers fans.
  14. By making them professional and ACCOUNTABLE!
  15. What the championship needs are decent referees because the standard is absolutely appalling with many refs bordering on being incompetent buffoons and unfit to referee, much like the inept linos!
  16. Many clubs including Championship clubs no longer do signing on fees, they tend to use loyalty bonus payments through the players contract. Eases the tax burden allegedly🤑
  17. Great post mate, hope your dad makes a full recovery and that you are both sat together at Ewood in the not too distant future.
  18. I think the evidence proves he actually got it right result was 1-0 Rovers
  19. Were they not under review Rev? Whatever happens if there is a second year in the Championship after relegation there is a huge financial hit and of course dont the stupid incompetent issues around ffp come into place?
  20. right now they do but they wont if they dont go up as they will take another huge loss even with the parachute money
  21. If he is on their wish list then it means Solanke might be off. Similarly, Billings was being looked at by wham fc so again, that might be a reason for them to look at Rothwell. A factor not mentioned is that his WAG is entrenched in the Manchester socialite arena and even with a young child is still always out along with the others and their crowd. Not soo sure she would want to move to the Bournemouth OAP bingo halls just yet
  22. Bournemouth wages wont be bigger than Rovers offer unless they guarantee a huge pay rise SHOULD they get promoted. If they fail then they are lumped with another huge loss, a small fan base, small stadium and not very good prospects unless of course they get rid of the manager.
  23. I am not disagreeing with you in fact I fully agree with your point. It is whether there are other connotations behind closed doors that we are unaware of. I also see the link to Rangers surfaced again on the back of the leaked Bournemouth bids.
  24. If I was Mowbray this morning I would be bursting with utter pride at the team. Luton away aside, February is a huge month and I would approach it no different to the way we have approached every game since Fulham. One game at a time. Glancing at the fixtures Rovers should aim to avoid defeats v Forest and QPR. Draws in these games are good enough whilst wins would be great. If we can win v Millwall and snatch a results at Swansea/Sheff U i would leave the WBA as the game not to be worried about. Mowbray said it himself, 10 wins out of 18 games is the aim, I think its lower than that, win 8 games and we are in the play off mix. Any additional wins would see us possibly cement second spot. I mean, the games against Fulham and Bournemouth are going to be great. I would hope that looking at the teams we play and we avoid a massive injury pile up/suspension list we are capable of winning at least 8 of our remaining games and probably more.
  25. That is probably the best post I've read this morning😃
