Is that a serious question SR? Over the last few years only 1 club has offered anything for DL - Sheffield Utd, the bid was turned down he signed a new deal. Rothwell? Rangers were interested allegedly, if they wanted him a cheap bid would have gone in, truth is they haven’t and probably won’t. I know about one club sniffing around these two, it comes from 2 individuals from both clubs who are as I believe unconnected and work in a specific area of football [legal] and even then I do not believe that club will be offering above Rovers contract offers and even more so I don’t think they are ever going to threaten promotion even with their latest new manager! Thats my take.

But at this moment not a single championship club have made any offers for them!

There is no more renewed optimism than sitting 4th in the championship as an alternative to div 1!

You are totally missing the point yet again! Rovers fans are missing a great season by staying away it’s to their own detriment. If fans want to get behind the team and see them promoted then my view is simple come to the ground and support the team players it’s a pretty simple suggestion

I am not blaming the fans I am saying the fans have a part to play if they want the club to be successful by getting behind the players despite whatever view they hold on Sw or the owners like other fans have done at various clubs point of note look at how forest fans have reacted and how their club has improved. SW has no impact on the team as it goes game to game unless of course he sells a player under the nose of the manager. It doesn’t stop improvements on the park or game performance. players come and go like managers fans remain the mainstay of clubs. Players improve from positive crowd reactions from bigger crowds.

But are they? Why hold it against this crop of players who should be the reason and reason alone why fans should get behind them and roar them on to bigger and better things ? The owners don’t attend so by abstaining are they actually damaging any prospects of promotion ?

The Rovers support do actually have a part to play if they can see through their hated views of the owners and indeed look at a positive or alternative view in seeing the players doing a very good job. Out of those clubs only Bournemouth have a lower average home crowd than us. Rovers home average is 12000 even Bradford hammer us hands down with a crowd average ours is the 5th worst in the division because our divided fan base means some will not come to the ground even if we have billionaire owners! Look across the football spectrum and ask why we don’t see our corporate boxes used very often? Why are we lacking in sponsorship ? Why would sky want to out a Rovers game in tv in a ground with no atmosphere when 9k are in a 32k all seated ground ? It’s the main reason why Rovers don’t have a huge cash flow other than the supplemented income from the owners and player sales that’s the reality ! We are not the club of 20 yrs ago we have no Jack walker we have no solid footballing board and we have a divided fan base which adds to the detriment of the club. There are numerous bad owners throughout football however that clubs fans have remained behind the team Newcastle Forest Birmingham Sheff Wed Portsmouth Swindon Bradford Ipswich Blackpool Bolton are all examples yet our own fans or some of them refuse to back the team come what may and that’s the sad part. I am sure that if the fans returned to back the team it might create a whole different picture rather than a scenario that says if they can’t be bothered why should we?

Not at all I just accept that this is reality of our situation like other clubs in the league jewels will be sold to high bidders no matter what your position unless you have parachute cash or fabulous income which we don’t have not to mention low crowds etc

Maybe it’s an acceptance of the reality of being a town team club breeding success on the park yet just not enough to guarantee promotion to the money laden Premiership

I see the point you are making and I agree however in saying that every player sold at a profit by Rovers is good business. If Leeds or Brighton or whoever come in with a £20m bid there is absolutely no reason to refuse it even if we are sitting in the top 6. Unless we are top 2 by distance then the play off lottery isn’t guaranteed promotion, we know that more than most clubs. We all worried when AA left and look how BBD has performed, who is to say that the same couldn’t happen with Gally?

I think back to his last season at Oxford, didn’t pull any trees up and had some real issues settling in at Ewood with inconsistent displays. People suggest no other players are capable of it, well looking around Div 1 there are a few players who given a chance might just sparkle.
