  1. Whilst respecting everyone’s personal view on the matter in hand the reality is our defence will cost us dearly as it is weaker than last season. Look at the goals we conceded in the last 9 games it was horrendous defending at best and cost us dearly in the end. Without a ball busting leader at the back we are spineless and it is simple as that. Building from the back is the only way forward and that has not been done. The youngsters are not Wiley enough to withstand big burley strikers whilst the left back slot is a major problem as is the right when RN is absent as Bennet always proves to be the weakest link. Only when this is addressed can we think we have made a progression. A bad start won’t help us either it serves only as a major setback to any ambition the club may have if getting out of this league .
  2. Because we have regressed in the close season that is why! Where is the central defender we crave? Where is the midfield general we need? Where is the width we need for a supply line? Where is the back up keeper we need? Where is the left back we need? Where in the right back we need as an alternative to Nyambe? Where do we see an old hand capable of guiding the youngsters through a game? Finally, if you think we have progressed after the capitulation at the end of last season you are as misguided as Waggot!
  3. As it stands we are fighting a relegation battle from day 1! Devoid of ambition, poor commercialism, poor planning bearing in mind the season starts in a few days with what appears to be a very blasé attitude to the club, the support and the shirt.
  4. Meanwhile sun is shining in Truro and the lager is very cold?
  5. Saw the Icelandic defenders comfortably deal with England maybe they could easily do a job for us!
  6. To be honest Rovers commercial operation is piss poor. No season ticket prices No home shirt on sale via roverstore or online No details as to the colours of the away shirt No efforts to link in with supporters other than a piss poor Waggy statement! its rank amateur and a very sad reflection on what BRFC have become!
  7. I am 53 two seriously bad knees overweight and an old style centre forward back in the days and even I am still better than Bell??
  8. Drove all the way to Cornwall and nothing absolutely nothing on this thread??
  9. Pity we just don’t know what colours the away strip will be, not even a hint from the club which again is poor marketing!
  10. Wigan’s fire sale continues as training ground sold, a loss of £600k for them
  11. Some of you have nomidea? when you have played season upon season at hypothermia park Brinscall only then can you moan about playing conditions ?
  12. Chelsea v Brighton this weekend sees a crowd experiment 2500 fans allowed in
  13. Am pretty certain ffp is out the window in today’s climate and may never be back in the form of unfairness as it was
  14. Geordies more fickle than Rovers fans and that’s a fact Chaddy but only just mind?
  15. The point I am making is give them a go and see how they progress. There are players who can and will make impacts either by their skills and talent or simply being allowed to play their game alongside the team game plan. If they are good enough they will progress, if they excel they will go for huge money allowing the club to progress off the park whilst also allowing an attraction to BRFC to other potential stars of the future. We have sold players before they are allowed to excel in our colours there are those in the club right now who could move the club forwards but they need to be given a chance
  16. Both Rooney and Owen were good enough as teenagers to make instant impacts in premiership teams there is no reason why young Vale cannot do the same he has to be allowed to flourish if he is good enough he will reuse to the very top. Give him a go as well as the likes of as Butterworth and Brennan and see how they do !
  17. That’s football in the championship these days ! The football landscape has changed dramatically it’s make do and mend its wheel and deal and it’s time to allow the youth to flourish . We are not alone in this scenario. I say let’s stop to think about it stop criticising and start getting behind the club. Let’s see how we come out of this situation in the next few weeks. Bournemouth have to raise in excess of £90m just to survive apparently with ffp and salaries hence the fire sale. They will be the first test for us so let’s see how we do then
  18. Euphoria ott just like the sycophantic and sometimes rabid speculation eh Simon ??
  19. Flies in the face of some of the speculation from some??
