That's not really actually that bad PMT. Teams don't win by 3 goals in the Premiership all that often. Second half of the season we've seen it happen a couple of times.
-
Can't help it if I don't look here all that often! haha

I do that every week at my local ... If I had been that girl I think I would have at first been upset, but later pleased. Maybe we should sign him, then just insult him everywhere he goes and could make ourselves some money. The club might get all of their money back.

3 poor years? The first season he was here he was the best right back in the Premiership and was a great player. Recently he has been part of the best defense in the Premiership other than Chelsea and is playing well, especially last night. He is simply the scapegoat, you lot need to find someone else as you are really picking on the wrong man.

Well the second half...could we have asked for a better performance? A team fighting for their lives and we barely let them have an attack. We were amazingly solid at the back, never had a sniff apart from one free kick, a corner and when Gera tried to head back across goal and it looped back on top of the cross bar. Clement's chance from a corner was an excellent one to put them two up, however, if you take a look there is a clear push on Mokoena as he makes his run which is why he finds himself unmarked at the far post, luckily he didn't take the chance. The goal was a good one, for once the attacking runs found an end product, the low ball avoided everyone and made its way through to Emerton who took a touch before cooly putting it in the top corner. Savage then went close and really we should have scored and taken all three points. The game opened up as Albion pushed and we got forward well though were never able to find the back of the net, thought we had done it at the end when Reid shot from outside of the area and saw it fly into the side netting, looked for a second as if it had gone in. All in all a good performance in difficult conditions. Had it not been for one great free kick we would have had a comfortable win, shame we couldn't get the second but not the end of the world.

Have to add couldn't feel much worse for Stead. The boy looked physically sick after that one hit the post.

Well give a summary of how I saw the half. We set out our stall in the usual way and I have to say they never looked like scoring. We kept the ball well throughout apart from one or two sloppy passes, but that's to be expected in what was quite an "all action" game. If we are thugs then I'm not quite sure what West Brom are. Not only did they foul more but they disputed every decision and really it wasn't very pleasant. First bad thing I can say about Nelsen really but he gave away a daft free kick in a dangerous area and was punished. Horsfield had his back to goal with 5 defenders around him and Nelsen was all over him. Stupid really, and other than that they never looked like scoring apart from when Todd softly headed the ball towards the giant thumb, though luckily for us he couldn't shoot. As I said we kept the ball well and there was some good movement, especially after the goal which seemed to galvanise us a bit and it was surprising and encouraging to see how much space we found within the West Brom half despite the fact that they had every player in it. What can you say about Stead? Great movement and he couldn't have struck that half volley from the edge of the area any better, probably a cm or two to the left and he would have been celebrating a cracking goal, one that on the basis of the game we probably deserve as West Brom have not looked the better team. Really didn't look like scoring on any other attacks, though a great Neill cross nearly picked out Savage at the far post had it not been for a touch from Gera. Some good forward running from Stead and Pedersen did at times look dangerous though they never had any support. We passed the ball well, but importantly it was always in front of them, on only a few instances did we get past their defenders and nothing ever came of it. We were the better team. Hopefully in the second half our luck will change and we will really go for it. West Brom looked happy to sit on their lead and that could play right into our hands.

Same team as the other day for us, hopefully they'll be a bit better today than they were on saturday.
-
Just found a French TV channel it is on so I'm very pleased, at least I'll get to see it now, plus the commentators over here love us, Stead in particular, not really sure why.
-
Um alright waggy, I wouldn't be surprised if we pick up 9/10 more points. How would you feel if you were Matteo? Playing very well at the moment, part of one of the best defences in the Premiership, recently made that place in the team your own and look, suddenly you lose your spot to some youngster who isn't even up to the task yet. I wouldn't very happy, would you be? Why are the last four games of the season any less important than the first or some somewhere in the middle? Same points available and the chance to end the season really well and go up a few places, why waste it?
-
disagree mr hopkirk, after the dross served up on saturday a debut or two by a couple off young lads would have least give the fans something to talk about. You won't say that after we lose 4-0 to West Brom. ***To Waggy that is***

I forgot glory-hunters were live long supporting of single clubs who hoped that their team would win something. How awful is that!

I don't know...the quality will be higher in this match so who knows which one he'll pick...*prepares himself for insults*

Canal + and TPS from which countries?

More than that it is can we. The thing that has to be looked into is how integral is the role of the holding/defensive to our defensive solidity. We may well find that without it we are more exposed and, even with the greater attacking threat of the second striker, we start to lose more games. It's an important call as it should actually determine the type of striker we are going for this summer. Should we stick with the 4-5-1 we need someone with a physical presence who can hold the ball up well, while we would also have to inject some more creativity into the midfield. If we plan on switching to 4-4-2 then we can look at options like Bellamy, who rely more on pace and need someone along side them. Though even then we will still have to add something to the centre of midfield.
-
We certainly play more of a 4-5-1 than a 5-4-1. Really that isn't an issue though, just a pointless detail.
-
There's nothing we can do back, we are a small club, never be able to compete with big media giants, all we would do would be to annoy them even more and probably be on the end of worse attacks.
-
That's not true at all. The official line is that if Liverpool win, no matter what league position they finish, they will be in the Champions League next season. No country can have more than four participants so Everton would not qualify.
-
Great post...that should be sent around to every newspaper
-
One of those times when you can be glad to say that this couldn't happen in America.
-
Don't really mind if Saints draw, won't put us in any real danger but does stop Bolton from getting into the Champions League which is good. Even if Southampton win I'm not too bothered, I don't think we are at any serious risk of being relegated anymore. If we play the way we have been over the past couple of months we will stay well clear of the drop zone, we should be more concerned with the results of the 4 or 5 teams just above us who are all within easy catching distance.

Did you? That's not the impression I got from reading your posts (I might be wrong, so please correct me) but when I dared to suggest Souness deserved the chop, it was only the usual suspects concurring. The rest of you went for a pound of my flesh. Argue with your numpty mates - I can't be arsed. Does that make me a numpty?
-
Mine as well, and I know that many were in the same boat as me. I defender him until the day he left, but I wasn't sad when he was gone, it's just I didn't think there was need for him to be fired.

Overtake hopefully not take over...that would cause a bit of trouble.
