Just found a French TV channel it is on so I'm very pleased, at least I'll get to see it now, plus the commentators over here love us, Stead in particular, not really sure why.

Um alright waggy, I wouldn't be surprised if we pick up 9/10 more points. How would you feel if you were Matteo? Playing very well at the moment, part of one of the best defences in the Premiership, recently made that place in the team your own and look, suddenly you lose your spot to some youngster who isn't even up to the task yet. I wouldn't very happy, would you be? Why are the last four games of the season any less important than the first or some somewhere in the middle? Same points available and the chance to end the season really well and go up a few places, why waste it?

disagree mr hopkirk, after the dross served up on saturday a debut or two by a couple off young lads would have least give the fans something to talk about. You won't say that after we lose 4-0 to West Brom. ***To Waggy that is***

I forgot glory-hunters were live long supporting of single clubs who hoped that their team would win something. How awful is that!

I don't know...the quality will be higher in this match so who knows which one he'll pick...*prepares himself for insults*

Canal + and TPS from which countries?

More than that it is can we. The thing that has to be looked into is how integral is the role of the holding/defensive to our defensive solidity. We may well find that without it we are more exposed and, even with the greater attacking threat of the second striker, we start to lose more games. It's an important call as it should actually determine the type of striker we are going for this summer. Should we stick with the 4-5-1 we need someone with a physical presence who can hold the ball up well, while we would also have to inject some more creativity into the midfield. If we plan on switching to 4-4-2 then we can look at options like Bellamy, who rely more on pace and need someone along side them. Though even then we will still have to add something to the centre of midfield.
-
We certainly play more of a 4-5-1 than a 5-4-1. Really that isn't an issue though, just a pointless detail.
-
There's nothing we can do back, we are a small club, never be able to compete with big media giants, all we would do would be to annoy them even more and probably be on the end of worse attacks.
-
That's not true at all. The official line is that if Liverpool win, no matter what league position they finish, they will be in the Champions League next season. No country can have more than four participants so Everton would not qualify.

Great post...that should be sent around to every newspaper

One of those times when you can be glad to say that this couldn't happen in America.

Don't really mind if Saints draw, won't put us in any real danger but does stop Bolton from getting into the Champions League which is good. Even if Southampton win I'm not too bothered, I don't think we are at any serious risk of being relegated anymore. If we play the way we have been over the past couple of months we will stay well clear of the drop zone, we should be more concerned with the results of the 4 or 5 teams just above us who are all within easy catching distance.

Did you? That's not the impression I got from reading your posts (I might be wrong, so please correct me) but when I dared to suggest Souness deserved the chop, it was only the usual suspects concurring. The rest of you went for a pound of my flesh. Argue with your numpty mates - I can't be arsed. Does that make me a numpty?

Mine as well, and I know that many were in the same boat as me. I defender him until the day he left, but I wasn't sad when he was gone, it's just I didn't think there was need for him to be fired.

Overtake hopefully not take over...that would cause a bit of trouble. -

Just wanted to say that I added an interview with a Palace fan to the preview, sorry that it's all the same colour but had trouble changing font colour, if a mod or anything would like to do that then by all means go ahead. -
The current system is nice. Always a good read to see the different ways of writing and looking at the upcoming games and it has produced some real classics.
-
Alright fine...haha
-
What about me eh? Where's my thanks? I'd like to see how we play against Palace before I really can be sure of what I expect from this game, but still think we should be looking for a win. Rovers 1-0 City

All of my friends were impressed by our performance and were surprised at how solid and well organized we were, I'm very proud.

I believe he was being sarcastic.

Also just should add that over here in France the papers have taken to us and given us some nice reviews. They like an underdog, and have liked our recent form as well as the battling spirit we have. They feel it typifies the British style of football, and although not always pretty makes for interesting and physical encounters well worth watching. They thought the scoreline was undeserved, and that despite the fact that Arsenal had more of the chances and kept the ball well they probably actually never really did enough to say that they deserved to win.
-
That really is unlucky. I missed the start due to traffic as well (though I was just going home to watch it on TV) so never even saw Dickov's disallowed goal or even seen it mentioned, which I find quite amazing. Until it was said a while back, despite having watched the match from about the 25th minute, seen the half-time and full-time analysis as well as reading a lot of papers and match reports I haven't even seen the smallest mention.
