  1. I know I would rather die than spend most of my days in a small cell for the rest of my life. Especially if you happen to feel guilty, I'm not saying that they do, but if they do then that really would be horrible and I'd rather be put out of my misery.
  2. Bellamy I think you are right on the mark with that. I think a few on this board are being to hard on the team for yesterdays performance. It wasnt great that is true, but the only thing lacking was the ability to create chances, granted that is very important in football. Maybe it was an off day and we will see the team attacking again as a unit with good movement and creativity as they have been in recent games, if not then we have a good basis, and in the January window we will just have to try and get another striker and possibly a midfielder to add that to the team. We lost, not great, would have been nice to win and would have really helped us out, but I think there are a lot of positives that can be taken from that game, and I'm not that worried.
  3. Hmm...unless of course an investigation into why this happened and how it was able to occur is launched. You also need to remember those on death row are usually still in prison for several years, so the tax money still has to be used. As well as funding the trials because of course there will be several appeals. On top of this dealing with all the demonstrators uses up valual police time.
  4. We weren't really at the races today, having said that, I don't think we deserved to lose. Neither side really deserved a win today, but we certainly need to improve our performance. I don't think it's too much of a setback, we weren't terrible, and there were still some good signs. We just need to find that attacking spark from somewhere. In the recent games when we've attacked as a team with midfielders making good forward runs and using the full width of the field we have had it, but today it really was lacking.
  5. ...imagine what the response will be when he's actually played a good game for us
  6. It's also now on the BBC as well. Is Defoe suspended or not? If they are both out then that really is good news for Rovers.
  7. Voted for Duff. Only two on that list that I have actually seen live in person were Wilcox and Duff, and there was no doubt for me that Duff was the better player.
  8. Totally with you on that. I too think that at times the criminal is released to early, but that doesn't mean kill him, just means take a look at the judicial system and make sure people get the proper sentence.
  9. Blue Phil, many of those put on trial in Nuremberg were actually just given prison sentences. They had a special prison made for them. While all of our present day war criminals are sent to prison.
  10. Rovers 3-1 Hopefully we'll get the win as I have a rather annoying football coach who supports spurs.
  11. I know I'm very sad, but I'm happy that the tide has turned in this debate and some reason has been put forward.
  12. I too would want to kill them if they raped my child, I'm sure of it. However, our judicial system doesn't work on the principle of the verdict the victims or their family would want to see passed.
  13. And considering he scored 3 in 1 game, that really isn't bad.
  14. I think not the local facists...just a guess though
  15. I wasn't saying I had any sympathy for those who committ the crimes, I really didn't want to come across like that. I am just against the death penalty, and also against the idea that this crime is so hideous compared to all the rest that these men should be treated as inhuman and dealth with so harshly compared to the rest of the standards society sets.
  16. Well if you look, 4 out of our 5 strikers have been on the score sheet within their last few appearances, with the only exception being Stead, so obviously something is starting to work.
  17. I'm glad to see that at least someone seems to care with me. Most of you are just swept up in a wave of media and tabloid coverage that has made such crimes the hot topic for the past few years. I'm not saying they aren't horrible, but it's the main reason why such criminals are singled out, when others who may murder, rape and steal are simply left to be.
  18. I really don't think I would be alone on that one. A life where you were offered the chance of doing basically nothing is a life I really wouldn't want to have, and if I had to choose, I would rather be put out of my misery than have to live through it. The examples I gave were just examples of the limitations you face.
  19. Exactly...I'm glad you've been converted (again I'm not a MGP supporter, I like the midfield as is)
  20. Well we have to disagree on that, I don't think the death penalty is the proper punishment and I think it is actually ducking punishment. I know I would rather be killed than face a life confined to a single building with no female contact where I had to wear the same things and had very few choices. If they are going to be let off early and that is your problem, then push for the courts to make sure they stay in prison for the proper length of time, if you think the death penalty is what is actually needed, then there's no need to discuss this, as I'm afraid you came a century too late.
  21. He came in with a new broom, but I think the point was that they are different, and that you can't deny. Their styles and methods contrast greatly, we'll have to see who was more successful in three years time, but lets hope for the clubs sake that it was Hughes.
  22. What if you are wronlgy convicted? What happens then? What will you say about a judicial system that puts someone to death simply because their lawyer wasn't good enough. There was a case in Texas I read about not so long ago where 7 men were put on death row for the same offence committed by a single man...wonderful isn't it? I'm not saying the men shouldn't recieve punishment for what they do, but you are all much too extreme. No I wouldn't want my wife and daughter being given a lift by them, but that doesn't mean I think they should all be hanged. Would you all like to tell me the statistics of crime in countries that do still have the death penalty? I think you will find, as I have researched it, that they are no different, so your stance on the subject has no support. Something has to be done, and these men may well be released too soon, but you do go too far.
  23. Isn't 1 goal every 3 games considered to be the standard that makes you a "good" striker, and then if you push it up 1 every 2 games you are up there with the best at your level? I thought that is how it worked, and for 150k, as everyone has said, isn't bad.
  24. Let's hope the SKY cameras didn't pick this up, or else we really could be in trouble
  25. 3 in 4 games? Could easily have had one against Birmingham that Gallagher ended up taking, not sure what his problem is?
