  1. I would have rather gone to Liverpool for less money than West Ham for more and I can understand where they are coming from. I don't know why people think it is pure arrogance that they think Neill has made the wrong decision. We would all be saying the same thing if a player turned us down and went to Watford for more money.
  2. I would be very sad if Hughes thinks he can achieved all that he can here after one 6th placed finish and a couple of semi-finals.
  3. To a certain extent that is how it is and I can understand why he said what he did.
  4. Does anyone know some good signings if you are in the lower leagues?
  5. Why on earth would that comment make you so angry?
  6. I'd love to see Sheffield United stay up as they are the team furthest behind us in terms of quality. I'd most like to see West Ham go down as they are certainly underperforming and with their new financial strength could easily pass us in years to come.
  7. I meant compile the list.
  8. To be fair, their list is a little better and longer than ours.
  9. He went to West Ham because they could, he wasn't thinking about us at all in doing so. If he had cared enough about us to change his career for us then he would have stayed, simple as. Liverpool offering him 30k a week seems to be totally in line with how much they pay their players (not far off what they pay Bellamy and who is the bigger, younger and better player out of the two?). I don't blame Neill for doing what he has done, but don't try and not see it how it is.
  10. I was actually surprised over Christmas to talk to some United fans who didn't even consider Hughes to be in the running. They thought he wasn't nearly a big enough name and that when Ferguson goes that it is most likely that a foreign manager will be brought in.
  11. We gave him permission to talk to West Ham. The clubs are in negotiations and believe that an agreement will be reached, they simply haven't got there yet.
  12. --> QUOTE(Ste B @ Jan 18 2007, 18:06 ) 480588[/snapback] acc to Sky Sports, the hammers have agreed a fee for Lauren. Perhaps the Neill deal has hit a snag ? They might intend on playing him in the centre though, or even at left back.
  13. Well, ask the board for more time to rebuild the squad and then go defensive for your next few games.
  14. Well his conversation with you, whether it happened or not, has already been proved to be unreliable. So if you did have this conversation with him then what he comes out with when he lives in unlikely to be the entire truth.
  15. I think the clubs are still working out the fee.
  16. I still would love him to stay. He's a top quality right/left back and we will struggle to replace him and it is a shame to see him go. Obviously I'm disappointed that a player is leaving our club simply because he wants more money, but that is his prerogative. Having said that, I think we are now in a great position in terms of getting the most out of this deal as we can. West Ham will know that they probably aren't in a position to get Neill to sign a pre-contract agreement at this stage due to their league position and so if they want to sign him they will have to do it now. This is even more important when you consider that they need to sign people in order to help them improve their league position. I think we could easily see this fee pushed up beyond the £1.25 million that was being talked about, we know that West Ham have money and they'll probably have to produce the goods if they really want their man.
  17. Here's the thing though, would you leave your very safe company who are probably offering you a very good deal in order to move to a company who are near to bankruptcy and who, despite the slightly larger wages, will at best be hoping to get to the level that you have already achieved at the company that you are already at.
  18. Don't forget the axe. Oh, and yes there is, Newcastle.
  19. You aren't Nayef, but I am sure that everyone is well aware of my opinion regarding this transfer.
  20. Saw Babel last night and I have to admit that I didn't enjoy it all that much. All seemed rather pointless.
  21. I have my fair share of albums that now sit proudly on my shelf as cds that I will never listen to again and can't believe that I ever wasted money on; though I must admit that Limp Bizkit is probably towards the top of that list.
