  1. I'd rather have a player on the pitch who was just playing out his contract then one in the physio's room who loves us to bits. If all that mattered was love for a club then most supporters would make fantastic footballers.
  2. Totally agree theno (shudder). We are in no position to judge and whilst the likes of Savage, Friedel and even Ooijer all appear to be good candidates I think that we have to trust the judgement of Hughes and his staff.
  3. I hope we can avoid the big teams the entire time and go on to lift the trophy. I have no time for the thoughts of "let us get a big team so that we can go out in a good tie and have one last fling in Europe". We are a good team and capable of beating any side in this tournament, I don't care who we get I won't be happy when we are knocked out.
  4. So what makes Neill different? I find it laughable that you consider Neill's poor performance to be down to the fact that he doesn't want to sign a new contract, but at the same time you feel it is perfectly understandable that the rest of the team played poorly because of the number of changes made to the side. I think the term "double standards" was invented for you.
  5. You're right, but that trouble was the war with Lebanon I believe, unlikely to affect any game that we might have.
  6. I think he quite obviously does.
  7. Lens or Zulte Waregem hopefully, would make life easier for me and neither should pose too many problems for us, particularly Zulte Waregem.
  8. At least he has an excuse, what about the rest of the team?
  9. Millan is a good one for the future. Vela from Arsenal is outstanding if you can get him (4-6mish at the start).
  10. Probably because Jim hopes that this isn't another opportunity for the right to use something like this as a reason why we shouldn't have immigrants and why muslims are evil. The likes of yourself and AESF will have a field day if he turns out to be a muslim, if he is a white man from Ipswich then it will simply be written off as one psycho who doesn't reflect the entire society.
  11. Calm down there, we'll just have to wait and see if it happens. You have to understand that this is quite a popular story, but it also has several interesting details that seem a little unbelievable. Everyone has sources on this site, unless you can produce evidence then a good number of people will doubt it.
  12. This is so sad. Anyone who won't go to a Rovers game while Neill is still playing is looking for an easy way out of going to games in my opinion. It isn't great that he wants to leave, but I don't think his performances have suffered. Like the rest of the team he hasn't played well recently, but he's been no worse than anyone else. People are specifically targetting certain players (Neill, Benni, MGP and Nonda) and essentially blaming them for the poor performance of the entire team. Grow up folks, I actually found what he did last night reasonably funny and I can understand why he did it.
  13. I'd say Derbyshire's chance was better, Bentley went closer to scoring though, good save.
  14. There is really. PSG are average, we have already seen Feyenoord are beatable and Fenerbahçe have lost to an English side already.
  15. People also forget how good he was when he first came, he kept Curtis out of the side, who had been doing quite well before Lucas joined.
  16. I think I might fall asleep at this rate.
  17. I wouldn't want Duff back, but anyone who wants Dunn back should certainly want Duff back.
  18. Am I going to be alone in the chat again?
  19. I had that same problem at first ozziejones, just try registering with another email account (my aol email didn't work and I had to use msn instead).
  20. It appears to have flooded their site a bit.
  21. First of all you wouldn't be able to, players have to be registered for the competition. Second of all, this competition is probably our best chance of getting back into the UEFA Cup as things stand and one of the few ways that we could keep our current reputation intact. Losing to Nancy and not finishing first in our group will be a further dent to the side and another reason for the fans and players to be unhappy, while also making us look even worse to any potential signings in january. Finally, every result will help us improve our European coefficient so it is worth winning simply for our participation in future European competitions.
  22. I'm afraid my attempts to find some Nancy fans has failed as, having now been approved by their admin, I cannot post a topic as there is always an error. Someone else can try, they appear to have good number of expat supporters in England so I'm sure that even a post in English should get a good response.
  23. It is certainly too soon to be getting rid of Hughes, but I certainly think that he should consider his job to be in danger and that if he doesn't turn things around in the next couple of months that things should be seriously looked at. I was one of those who stuck by Souness to the end and can now say that I was wrong to have done so, we all need to be careful that we don't do the same thing with Hughes and get rid when the rot begins to set in, not when it has already done so. As I said, I'm not advocating getting rid of him at this moment in time, but he certainly isn't that far from being in a position where a replacement will be needed.
