[Archived] Getting Broadband

Choices are now NTL, BT or Orange, what does everyone think? Good thing with BT and Orange is that we get a free wireless router, which we need. Only heard bad things about NTL, though heard bad things about BT on here and both BT and Orange would involve BT in some way. -

According to players in the states Madden 07 is a pretty horrible game. They have taken out a lot of the features, including madden himself, the fantasy draft and the owner mode and all you have instead are improved graphics. I'm not sure if I still want to buy it. I don't use the fantasy draft, but I did use the owner mode. -
No doubt I'll be slated for this as well, but does anyone know of a broadband provider who can set it up in less than 10 days? Everyone I've talked to so far has said that it will take a minimum of 10 days to get it up and running. I've been amazed at how difficult it has been to get it all going here.

When did he do that?

Judging by some of the nonsense you post Phil you obviously didn't take advantage of the period when your capacity for learning was at its greatest. -
It will come out on PS2, just not on the PS3.

It is exclusive only for next generation consoles.

Konami might be japanese but pro evo is produced for the non-japanese market, as opposed to winning 11 (or whatever it is called) which is produced for japan. I think that pro evo 6 will be a good game and will have the normal number of improvements as well as taking advantage of improved graphics capabilities. I don't understand why if they "knocked it out" that they won't be releasing a special game for the 360 until the end of October, unlike EA who came out with two football games almost as soon as the 360 came out. -

To me the only solution I can think of is that you can buy a 5 and 10 game season ticket (not just the half season) that gives you an option of going to 15 or so of our home games. I'm not even sure how much this would work, but we certainly can't make the season ticket cheaper than it already is. -

What are our finances like in that? -
I can understand why neither Savage or Reid were getting into the box (so as not to be drawn out of position and leave us exposed), but the fact that McCarthy and the opposite winger were never getting in there was shocking at times. That did improve in the second half though. For me this is a result of there not being a creative midfielder. McCarthy obviously feels the need to drop deep to create something, which isn't great, but if we could get a better link between the defense to midfield and then to the attack we might see him staying where he should be.

Bentley put in enough crosses for us to win the match, no one got on the end of them (two exceptions being when pedersen headed over and when McCarthy nearly scored).

What I am saying is that though £36 is a lot it is not that bad when compared to other clubs. I wasn't having a go at anyone or trying to take the moral high ground, in fact long distance supporters are usually the ones who get grief for not contributing enough to the club. I also said that it isn't fair to judge how people prioritise your money. If you are a Rovers supporter and choose to spend £20 in the pub watching the game instead of £20 at the game then I do think it is a waste. I'm not having a go at anyone though. I didn't make a comment about you or anyone else specifically. I didn't tell anyone how to spend their money, as I said just now I even said that it isn't fair to judge how people prioritise their finances. Maybe if you two had spent more time to actually read my post you wouldn't have wasted your time getting yourselves worked up. -
Not a problem. He just never looked like he could cut it at this level, might have found his now though, he is very fast.

Ok, I haven't read any of this topic but I haven't been able to get online before now and just wanted to post my thoughts. Hats off to the players who usually get stick: Emerton, Savage and Bentley were great. McCarthy seemed to drop too deep too often and Reid wasn't too involved. Roberts did quite well, but then didn't really get on the end of any chances. Zurab and Neill did very well in parts but then seemed unsure of themselves for brief moments, perhaps a result of the defensive changes. Ooijer, what a shocker. Started badly and only got worse. Made mistake after mistake at the back and missed a couple chances from corners. Overall I thought we were the better side, but at the same time we only really looked like scoring when McCarthy went close. The penalty? Well, it was a foul. However, those sort of things go unpunished all the time. If this is the start of a clamping down on holding then fine, I have no problem with it, but based on the fact that Roberts was held back when he actually had the ball and a penalty was given I think it is unlikely. Still very stupid by Ooijer, bring back Todd (God we need Nelsen back) and let Ooijer get up to speed. We played well, we will certainly play worse than that and win, but we still need more creativity and better options to come off of the bench than Gallagher.

I'm sure, or at least I hope, that Rovers have a team working hard figuring out the price elasticity of demand for each game and ticket. If they have worked out that making the Chelsea game 27 pounds doesnt bring a significant enough change in the number that turn up to make up for the 9 pounds a ticket that they have lost by lowering the price then it isn't worth it. Hopefully they are doing a good job at figuring it out, based on the fact that our attendances don't really go up even for the very cheap games and even when we are in the top 6 pushing for the top 4 I would say that they have probably got it right. I understand that £36 is a lot for 90 minutes (or £27 if you aren't picky) but I wish that I could attend a rovers game for as little as £36. Even if I go to the nearest away game to where I live it will cost me £21 in travel plus whatever the price of the ticket is (which at best will be about £25 pounds). Now I know that Rovers aren't as important an issue as they are for some of us on here and it isn't fair to judge other people when it comes to how they prioritise their finances, but it annoys me when people start to complain that the club is too expensive when it clearly isn't and when a lot of those who complain choose to waste their money elsewhere. -

It is thenodrog and it would be good if everyone took a step back and saw that Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have all dropped points at the start of the season. Unless the Premiership is turning on its head then there is no reason to worry too much about the fact that we might not have picked up as many points as we would have liked from the first 5 games. -
All the best to him. He always seemed to give his all though he never quite had that cutting edge. Maybe he'll be able to develop in the lower leagues and might one day find his way back to the top, if he does I hope that he finds his way back to the blue and white.

That will probably be ryanair. How much is the train from linz to salzburg?
-
If you look a little back through the topic about 3 pages you will see a post about train travel and there are details about price and time from Munich.
-
If I do end up finding the finances I might end up being alone if the others decide it is too expensive. I'll let everyone know. Also might depend on if I am able to even get a ticket. How much would the train be? I'm thinking of either that or Graz.
