  1. Yeah, it goes from bskyb to foreign channels, so it is up to them to negotiate the deals. The Premiership is very popular, people will pay more for it than they do now. I certainly think he can afford to increase the price by enough that even if they lose customers they'll still make as much if not more.
  2. Only if we make the Champions League Waggy.
  3. The thing he'll have to do is simply renegotiate his deals with foreign broadcasters when the deals run out. That's the only way he can stop himself from slowly losing sky subcribers and also possibly losing the rights to the Premiership once the football clubs become unhappy with losing fans to Greek TV.
  4. Well that has helped us out quite a bit.
  5. Dream Over!
  6. 3-2 Boro now. I want Charlton to win. Chartlon - Liverpool final would be nice (it's all relative).
  7. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Sunderland's only home win of the season is going to come against Arsenal.
  8. Let's just say that the TV broadcasters got it just right and managed to compensate us for lost revenue in attendances with TV money. That sounds like a good deal, wouldn't happen, but sounds good. However, clubs like United, City, Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle and a few others would still have the combination of simply enough supporters and enough die hard supporters that I think even if all of their matches were on TV they'd sell out every game. Now they would get as much TV money as us, on top of that they would get more money from the fans, not only would they have more showing up but they charge more as well. To top all of this off, how many players would choose to play at Ewood Park where you could be lucky to get 15000 when you could play at the COMS in front of more than twice as many?
  9. Bad news in my opinion. Legal foreign tv in every pub and one less reason to go to the match itself.
  10. Beckham and Scholes were very good at the corner move, I can't remember ever seeing a clip of someone doing it before they did.
  11. Another spectacular finish from a tight angle was Emerton's against Charlton, perhaps even better. I doubt he'll get many votes though. I think it is one of those things where the more recent goals will benefit from being fresh in the mind.
  12. Could it be arranged somehow that we give the player that wins some sort of notification of the fact that he is the winner?
  13. Whoops, sorry meant his second. Got the Free-kick and the Rio one the wrong way round.
  14. I think Bentleys first against United should also be added just for the humour factor. My actual vote would go to Tugay though.
  15. I have no idea whatsoever. I can't for the life of me think of anyone who has played for all four and I'm sure Hendry must have scored goals or own goals at his other clubs so I'm sure I'm wrong.
  16. Hansen wasn't scatching of Blackburn. I've met very few Sunderland fans who thought he should be sacked and that certainly wasn't the impression they gave in the media either. As for it being that easy to get Ireland to qualify for the World Cup ahead of the Netherlands and then make it past the group stages (when he didn't have Roy Keane and Robbie Keane wasn't in the same sort of form he is this season) why hasn't it been repeated since he's left?
  17. You know they would probably say the same about us having a go at them as being underqualified to be on TV.
  18. Fair enough I can see why lots of people don't like Boumsong, but I saw more of him in France than I did of him at Newcastle (where I have seen the highlights...if you can call them that) and at Rangers (where I understand he did very well). He was excellent in France and that is what I'm basing it on, I don't think you can turn into sch a bad player when you showed yourself to be such a good one. As for McCarthy, what he did for Ireland was really very impressive and you just have to look at what they have done since to realise just how good a manager he must be. Fair enough he failed with Sunderland this year and in fine style. They never got the rub of the green though and even though they are a pretty poor side they deserve more points than they have picked up. History is littered with good managers who have failed at one club or another. I'm not saying he is a fantastic manager but I think he certainly knows enough about football to be a pundit for you or I .
  19. Why was that funny?
  20. Any news on whether an xbox tourney will ever be possible?
  21. Hm. Well that isn't right. Maybe they got Amo and Peter mixed up.
  22. Sunderland fans love him though, so I doubt that. Also, you are talking about one of the most successful managers in Irish history. A man who's international pedigree cannot be doubted. True things didn't go well this season, but he got Sunderland promoted last season don't forget. He knows his stuff about international football and world cups.
  23. He can't have been out since Christmas, he has played for the first team since Christmas.
  24. Hmm...this seems to be something Hughes is teaching the boys.
  25. 4th place is still to play for. We see games against teams like Pompey as being difficult, no reason why it shouldn't be for Arsenal as well, they've been in good form but didn't impress me all that much today. It's tight and there's no reason why we can't put a good run together and get it.
