  1. The Manchester United job is the only one we have to "worry" about. It is unclear when it will become available and even when it does, as pointed out, I'm not sure if the Glazers would prefer to appoint one of the massive European names rather than go for an old favourite. Hughes is certainly showing some potential, but a decent two year spell doesn't in my opinion put you on the same level as managers who have been doing it for 10 years or more.
  2. I think we are a better team than that and I'm rather tired of people talking like this. Yes, when Bellamy plays we have an extra dimension and a player of real quality up front, but we didn't get to 5th, or even in the top 10, because we rely so much on a player who's been injured for quite a large part of the season. Against the top clubs we probably need him in order to really cause them trouble and win, though the Manchester United game maybe proved otherwise, but I still think that as a team we are better and good enough to beat a lot of sides in this division and that is what will keep us at this sort of standing in the league. As for having trouble holding onto him, I don't think we will. He'd probably only leave us for one of the big 4 and I can't really see any of them coming in for him, firstly because they can get better and secondly because of his long history of problems. It was a great performance yesterday and I had honestly expected us to lose, but we played magnificently. It certainly would be wonderful if we win next Sunday but I don't think we will (but I thought that before this game as well). Have to agree with flopsy, the only dampner on the day was England losing to Scotland, other than that it was pretty much perfect.
  3. As Manchester United winning tomorrow would mean only 6th spot gets UEFA cup (7th we'll have to be waiting on the FA Cup results) then I think there is only one team we should want to win. Time to forget who we like or dislike and think of the club. European football is what we need.
  4. On the basis of this year, no. We've taken 9 points off of the champions league teams this season with a possible 6 more to come. Would we get anywhere in the competition? No, but if we did get there I think we'd cause a few teams some trouble.
  5. We should save that one for when the groobies come around.
  6. Sorry all, just giving my opinion, nevermind then. Right, kick out the drummers and let's sit in silence for 90 minutes.
  7. Our champions league hopes (however slim they may be right now) would certainly be totally gone if we lose both. However, I do think we could still make the UEFA spots even if we lost both, as long as United win the Carling Cup and especially if its a "Dream" FA Cup final as well.
  8. Other than a few exceptions I have to say the drummers are the only thing that makes our atmosphere really look decent on the tv. Maybe things would improve if they didn't kill off all of the songs, but with smaller crowds at the moment I think they are probably doing us some good. We'd be better off giving them some drumming lessons rather than kicking them out.
  9. Bentley is 21 isn't he? Also, doesn't Lennon play on the right?
  10. Basically he went to head a ball and got a boot in the eye for his troubles. It wasn't malicious, just a bit stupid and unlucky really. I hadn't seen anywhere that he could lose his eye but I have heard he might well lose his sight so it isn't looking good for him, best of wishes.
  11. If Bentley and Todd don't play then we'd only have one if Gray is playing, so as Alan points out, we shouldn't talk ;
  12. Well done. Now you only have to do RvN, Henry, Rooney and maybe a few others and we'll get a really great indication of how well he is doing.
  13. Also, we'd only be 3 points off of 4th playing the 4th place team the next weekend. Just have a bad feeling about the next couple of weeks and have a feeling we could go from a good position to qualify for the UEFA cup and thoughts of Champions League to really having to pull out some results to get back into the UEFA cup spots. Just hope we turn up and play the way we can and then I think we'll give ourselves a good chance.
  14. It is yes, I was surprised to see they didn't dedicate any real space to it but you can find it there in the download section. FM Patch 6.0.3
  15. The full client patch will mean that you are installing all patches doesn't it, whereas with the incremental patch you will have had to have installed all previous patches already? Might be wrong though. Good if we could arrange a little game sometime.
  16. I'm trying to get Battlefield 2 and 1942 set up on my computer but everytime I try and get into an online game on Battlefield 1942 it tells me I don't have the latest version though I've installed all the new patches so I'm not sure what's going on there. For Battlefield 2 the game doesn't even start and just closes down on start-up. Anyone know what's going on?
  17. I know plenty of people who'd take the tickets, don't know if they have England tickets to swap, but if you decide you want to sell them I'm sure I know some people who'd happily buy them.
  18. I'm not sure he was being entirely serious.
  19. Taylor is away on loan as well isn't he?
  20. A nice bonus and the chance to showcase your skills in Europe might also help.
  21. So if we then finish 8th and miss out on a place of Europe will it really be worth it? If we fail to make Europe this season then I will have major concerns for what will happen to us as a club. If we can make Europe I don't doubt that the board will back Hughes, if we don't, then I think we could be looking to future seasons of languishing in midtable.
  22. It really is in our interest for United to win the carling cup, especially now that Wigan are fading away a bit. Also, it would be great if this year the fa cup final is comprised of teams already qualified for Europe, could make our lives a lot easier.
  23. We did the double over Arsenal one season, but our record against United wasn't great. I also remember against Arsenal where Dunn scored twice. Chelsea weren't the force they are now and we didn't do too well against Liverpool.
  24. Also, as wigan are on a bit of a slide I wouldn't be surprised if their gates dropped a bit.
