  1. Forget dancefloor, it's gonna be murder on the pitch. I'll be in goteborg this weekend and will no doubt get a text at precisely 5:45pm from my evertonian buddy (he always sends texts everytime we lose...something about rovers mugging everton for their prem place 2 seasons in a row...)
  2. well, it made me laugh.
  3. aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I hate stats like that, especially when Rovers are involved. Looks like a shed full of goals and max points for Borough. Alan.....Believe.
  4. Assuming Hasselbaink doesn't have murder in his eyes... Rovers 2 MBoro 0 Ferguson and a deflected goal from Emerton.
  5. "Walker bought Rovers the Premiership title in 1995" Quel connard. Why do people feel compelled to say something like that yet refuse to say the same about Man U or Arsenal? What about Leeds, or Newcastle? Do people go around suggesting Houllier bought the treble in 2001 (or whenever twas)? I think the words "big club" and "favouritism" spring to mind.
  6. What have the canaries, baggies and rovers got in common?
  7. Villa 3-2 Rovers oh hold on... is it not the 92nd minute yet?..
  8. Exactly what I wanted to say.
  9. WHAT ??? Have you not heard of the Vichy government ?! Course I have - I studied french history at the Sorbonne. When i made that generalisation, I was thinking of today's society (and sports).
  10. I too had reservations about him despite seeing him light up Euro 2004. Yesterday's performance especially the power and accuracy of his 2nd goal have convinced me that this boy wonder has it to be the next Shearer. Suddenly that £27m looks like a good purchase if he stays at the club for the next decade.
  11. I thought they were swiss..?
  12. I voted yes because he's french and french people tend to want to "win at all costs". I can't remember the last frenchie we had...?
  13. Obviously overdosed on prozac.
  14. Don't give up Rovers! When things go tough, I want to see the performance we put in in the second half. Charlton couldn't get the ball back at all for a good 15 minutes. If rovers keep plugging away like that, lady luck will give way. Not surprised about the penalty decision. For all those who say it was ball to hand not hand to ball, what the heck was his hand doing that far from his body. He stopped the cross when a number of rovers players were waiting for it (whether any of them would have made contact is another matter but it doesn't deride from the fact that his arm stopped the cross and allowed him to clear it). PENALTY. Not too disappointed. Which is strange as I'm usually the one that carps on about relegation early on in the season after 4 defeats on only 7 games (ok discounting highbury it's only 3 defeats)
  15. Charlton one Blackburn tw... ..what? Matt Holland back in the team? charlton three blackburn two
  16. Yay! A dingle on this site. Welcome inbred. Although why you feel you have to come on this web-site when we lose to a team in an inferior league is beyond me. Do we come onto your web-sites every year when the dingles go out to non-league teams? Where were you when we got promoted in 2001? Where were you when we won the cup in 2002? Where were you when we qualified for EUROPE in 2002? Wgere were you when we qualified for EUROPE in 2003? Where were you when we did the double over the gunners in 2003? ..etc...
  17. friday lunchtime's entertainment reading this thread. Don't anyone lock it! I want to see fisticuffs...
  18. I feel sick... Dowie will make Souness seem like a God. When Kidd signed for us, I had a hunch something would go wrong with him. My mates at the time insisted that he would bring "inside" knowledge of Man U's tactics and how that club ticked but I couldn't shake the bad feeling. The same feeling I have now when i think of Dowie as our new manager...
  19. Iain Dowie our manager..?! Please please please please please... NO
  20. MURDER AT EWOOD PARK Police would like to question a man in connection with the murder of blackburn rovers on 18th September 2004. Suspect is male, coloured, 21 years old and rumoured to be of nigerian origin. Wanted for the crime of scoring a hat-trick past a bald hapless american (with no reply) edited to avoid prosecution
  21. There's always a silver lining. I've never been to Chesterfield or Luton! Can't wait until next year.
  22. Can I just ask - have two managerless sides ever come face to face? I'd have thought it has happened already given today's loyalty values and high pressure jobs but I can't remember when.
  23. It is rumoured that we'll be walking into an half-empty St. James Park...
