Any fan that's watched rovers over the last four years is occasionally frustrated as hell at Pedersen. We know that he's better at crossing and free kick taking than he shows, but he still hits the first man from a corner or fires it straight into the wall.

That said, we'd be mad to get rid of him. Good left sided midfielders are rare, and we're lucky to have one. Not only that, but his defensive contribution is underrated - he works hard for the team. We'd need twice the 7 million mentioned and even then I wouldn't be convinced it was a good idea unless we had a proven replacement.

pedersen is one of the best left wingers in premierleague...

pedersen isnt all about set pieces, his defensive work goes unnoticed..

you cant replace good wingers like pedersen

he's worth more then 7million..

i wouldnt even sell him for 15million..good wingers these days are hard to find..and pedersen and bentley are two of the best wing pairings in the premierleague other then man utd...

Yesterday Wenger confirmed he will sign a new contract soon yet your convinced he's off soon?

Dunno it just seems that the spark has gone out of him since Dein left. Rem if he signs a new contract Arsenal will have to pay out even more if they part company.

Alternatively if the yanks prevail and take over the club and inject some big funding then imo he will stay. Who knows he may be signing his new contract in the knowledge that the ownership is about to change, cos I cannot see him at the stage of career that he is settling for second best under Hill Wood. Also rem he has been seen recently dining out in the company of David Dein.

Of course I do, ST holder just expressing an opinion here.

I think Warnock lacks concentration occaisionally and can be gaffe prone.

Good going forward but his primary role is to defend. Needs to do better at that for me.

Thing is, if all our players could concentrate for every minute of every game and never made mistakes then we'd be winning the league every season.

are west ham in talks with gudjohnson??

were we looking at him, if so when???, we put off by his wage demands, i dont understand why we would show interest with 5 strikers, unless this was before santa cruz, or 1 striker is leaving??

is it true about pedersen to arsenal???

any more rumours on any other clubs..

Just spoke to an english connection of mine and Wenger/Arsenal are not planning to get MGP. It was an interview and the lack of real left-wingers in the Arsenal squad came to notice, the interviewer started about MGP and the response was 'yeah, good player', but nothing has been said about a move. So I think we'll keep that as a strange rumour. MGP stays.

Just think of it as a compliment for Rovers and the squad that we've assembled, that our players keep getting linked. Management say that the major players aren't for sale. So no worries.

The only worries i have is silly minimum fee release clauses in players contracts.

Something to strir you all

I will always maintain MGP will never go to Arsenal.

IMO whatever you try to throw up to suggest the contary, he isn't good enough for them.

And I don't dislike him, I think he is the highest quality of player you can be without being TOP class.

"Hughes sees Gunners striker Nicklas Bendtner and midfielder Mathieu Flamini as potential deal-makers but would still demand a cash sum on top of that pair. "

Yes, we really do need another striker...:blink:

In reply to mozzer's questions...

West Ham were after Gudjohnsen, but even they think £100,000-a-week wages are a bit rich.

When I was checking about him last week I found that Everton and Middlesbrough had also been involved and were keen if the package was right. Rovers have definitely done their homework on him too.

Shame about the wages because I think Gudjohnsen is a real talent. In his case you could play him in midfield rather than attack, many people think that is where he will 'move' now.

As for other news...Everton are still trying to spend, Wigan are desperate for a left back - even looking at Matt Hill at Preston - and Man City still want a keeper.

BBC are quoting the Mirror as saying 3 clubs are interested in Gudgonsen but would all have to pay him £100,000 per week-West Ham, Middlesborough and us.

MH has previously said he would wait till the last day of the transfer window to get the right person. I wonder whether the ex-Bolton player might just drop his demands at that stage as barca seem keen for him to move on.

No, sadly not. He is looking for the big pay day, which worries me about his long-term attitude.

It would be no surprise if someone haggled him down a bit in desperattion...which usually means West Ham.

But so far those wages are about TWICE what anyone wants to pay.

Remuneration in that league would have the others queuing up at Hughes office door with their agents in tow. btw Is Gudjonnsen still struggling with his weight also?

That's his money belt...

I would take him in a minute because he can play. But the wages are just ridiculous.

So Rovers still have feelers out there, Nicko? Anything specific they're looking for, or just bargains?

As we speak, probably the specialist up-and-coming right back and maybe just the long-term Tugay successor.

But no great rush at the moment...

and maybe just the long-term Tugay successor.

Our squad is bloated and arguably could do with pruning but a DM with passing ability would help (although it'd render Mokoena completely obsolete and mean that Savage would be on the bench when Reid's fit.

I personally don't see Hughes signing anyone who'd usurp Savage.

What's this about a new right back? Has Emerton fallen out of favour or something? With Ooijer and Emo I don't see why a RB would be necessary.
