cold feet ..... wasn't the lure of AS Roma? ..... imagine turning down rovers for rome

No, he said he was coming - all agreed.

Then Lazio came in and gave him fortunes in wages and spends.

I'm afraid you got used.

Roy Hodgson came instead. Never was a fan of his - and he hated me with a passion.

any more transfer gossip????

where's glen johnson and liam rosenior going??, i think blackburn need a right back, maybe one of those could do a job, both young and english..

i like emerton at right back, but if anything happened to him, im not keen on ooijer or zurab covering...

Rovers' main objective this window has not been to lose any players. We are almost there but if there is any substance to these rumours of West Ham bids for Tugay and McCarthy, the Icelandic Cockneys will go into the stratosphere as Premier League pariahs.

what was that about Jordan?

I am seriously annoyed by the silly speculation about Tugay, he's staying!! No way he wants to move to the Scammers, and don't think Hughes will sell him either.

Nothing of interest. There was some other Journo on talking about all of the papers and they mentioned an Alan Nixon piece. I dont think it was to do with Rovers more to do with Nugent and a possible move to Derby.

Good to see Portsmouth confirming Derby want Nugent...makes some people look a bit silly that one. Check the quotes after the story out and you will see who I mean.

No Rovers news worth speaking of. I'm sure West Ham are keen on Benni, but I don't see any reason why that would happen. And the Tugay tale is just a bit daft.

With Tottenham in disarray and Everton missing out on Fernandes it has been a good weekend for your top-six ambitions anyway.

Strange how it works at times.

Why didn't Royston like you nicko?

He didn't like the fact I got stories - and spent a lot of time trying to figure out where they were coming from.

At the time he did a column for the Daily Telegraph, as you might expect of a pumped-up chap, and my mate had a tape of him giving me a good slaughtering along the lines of 'that big Scottish t***, know too much' etc, etc.

Has he worked much since?

Isn't he still Finland's manager?

He is, and the Finnish FA is keen on renewing his contract that ends after these qualifiers or the finals should Finland qualify there. But apparently Inter is offering him some sort of foreign affairs director's position that might temp him to return to Italy.
