Rigters needs football and fitness so ideally id let him join a club in the championship until christmas because when its the christmas period we have loads of games and injuries start to kick in so we can then recall a fit and ready rigters.

Rigters has told his pals in the Dutch press that he fancies going out on loan if he does not get a game soon.

I'm not sure that will happen, but in a way it's good to see he wants to play football.

If Roque is genuinely injured - and not just ducking a long flight home to Paraguay - I can't see Rigters being allowed out.

Like I said, there has been talk that Hull are looking at him as a loan option... maybe he's been told?

Unbelievable. Maceo's started one game so far and already he's taking stick.

See the use of the word MAYBE. Don't really see any stick being dished out just folks asking questions.

After being over-hyped from a tournament he didn't even play in

So it was a different Maceo Rigters that was top scorer

Uh, yeah he did play in it.

He was the top scorer.

Oh thank you.

Some folks just can't wait to have a dig can they.

And apparently some folks don't know the difference between the Euro's and the World CUp, yours truly being one of them, perhaps the recent Womens contest confused me. I blame senility, diminishing short term memory, you'll understand when you get to be my age.

It was hard to watch him because he was left on the bench at Hertha Berlin - and then sent on to play striker.

Funny how things work out...I think Rovers were probably taking him for a look without having too much anticipation.

As for Ryan Nelsen, he was offered everywhere and nobody wanted to know because of his age. Charlton looked at him and treated him like dirt. Rovers was just abut his last shot before he went back to the USA.

Funny how things work out volume two.

Agents take a fair bit of stick at times, but the people who brought those two in and stood by their players deserve credit - as do those at Rovers who gave them the chance.

Agree about the agents. If it wasn't for the agent calls, I'm not sure Samba or Nelsen would be playing for us.

Apparently, Samba was tremendous for Hertha Berlin's reserve team but wasn't given the chance to dislodge very experienced high profile first team defenders and was instead used as a Mokoena to kill games and occasionally as a Shefki Kuqi to claw back a game with the up and under.

And Nelsen's reserve game for Charlton wasn't even watched by then manager, Curbishley.

Must say that I have not seen much to enthuse about in his play....... but I held a similar viewpoint on David Bentley in the first few months here so what do I know?

Gordon, can I save this and quote you at a later date?

You wanted an up-to-date form guide on Rigters, well here goes...

Just spoken to a mate at Boro who saw the ressie game during the week.

He said Rigters was fast, dangerous but very erratic. Thinks he will make a player eventually but may have to go out to a Championship side to knock some rough edges off.

This source is a reasonable judge who actually works for Boro and is no mug.

For what it's worth he also rated Rigters the best player in the Rovers side.

Nowt .... :wstu:

Rigters reminds me of a young Cyrille Regis at Hayes, all power and pace but not yet the finished article.

It might take 2 - 3 years before he matures but he looks potentially a top-class player to me.

Just hope he is happy to be patient and not seek a move elsewhere in the meantime.

The boy's still a youngin, with time he'll get the fine points down. A loan would probably be the best option for us, that way he gets better playing some quality first team ball. We just got to make sure we don't loan him to a club that is too bad; IE: A lower table Championship team. We want to make sure he's playing up to par with as close to premiership standards as we can.

That being said, I think come Jan, that whole loan out situation depends on who's healthy and who's in good form.

Anyway whats got in to you Jim? Are you still smarting from me pointing it out to all when you keep making yourself look a dcik? Just as an aside have you EVER admitted that you have ever been wrong? I cannot remember it if you have. But then again they do say that it takes a big man to do that.

If Roque is out for the Reading game then surely its going to be Benni and Matty up front and Maceo on the bench?

By all accounts, that Boro reserve game is the first time Maceo has really shown good form on the pitch since he came to Rovers.
