You just beat me to it Bish. I was about to say that I am now getting worried as to Reid ever making it back as a Prem player. It is starting to look like he just cannot attain and keep the level of fitness required any more. We have to trust the judgement of the Rovers medical staff and coaches, but it is not looking good.

Sad but true, Fife. I've been saying for some time now, he's been injured for so much of his time at Rovers, such a shame. Even if he were 'fit', I'd still want more back up because of his history.

It's too doom & gloom this thread! How about stepping away from the usual Rovers fan mentality and think positive?! Let's hope he can recover his fitness ala David Dunn (still getting there but lets be honest not many people will have thought he would have contributed so many minutes on the pitch since he signed), Stephen Warnock, Santa Cruz, etc. It's unfair to compare him with David Thompson for a number of reasons - the main couple being we now have a set of much wiser backroom staff and the advances in treatment available today. This will be a minor set back and on the plus side it will give his knee and back more time to recover...

You have a fighting chance, but don't go daft because of the compensation problems they would face on that one.

It's the same with Steve Bruce and Wigan. He is odds-on but you still have to get past La Brady at Birmingham. And, as Rovers will tell you, that is a costly exercise.

Grayson can't be on that much at blackpool.

One of my brummie mates is convinced that Bruce is off to be replaced by Aidy Boothroyd. It maybe wishful thinking as Boothroyd has a cushy job for the rest of the season.

Just been reading that Brum have given Bruce permission to talk to Wigan although that is contradicted by other reports.

Guardian- Brum welcome Wigan wooing of Bruce

I am not surprised- if Yeung really is buying Brum, he has given enough indications that he shares most of the rest of football's assessment of Bernard Cribbens.

This is BIG CLUB's Souey to Newcastle moment surely?

So Wigan and Derby are doomed, just a question of can Notlob drag themselves above Sunderland or Boro and the relegation places are sorted for another season....

Perhaps Nicko has just gone to bed. He has to be up early to do the papers in the morning.

No, briefly slipped into a 70s timewarp listening to a few CDs...

Ince is a possible because the Mirror story about Wigan today was a 'plant' in my opnion. Not happy as I gave them the Steve Bruce...

But it's not the name I am working on.

Bear in mind North End don't pay big wages, so it will be a low-key honest Joe rather than a big-time Charlie.

im sure ince was quoted on sky as saying he was at mk dons for the forseeable future.

That was on the radio as well but might in reality translate into "I want more money."

I think there's half a chance Ince might do a brilliant job somewhere. Hope it isn't with the Dingles, Nobenders or Wigan.
