Seems to have been removed now. I got some cash on it at 11-1 earlier, found the best price through oddschecker.

Totesport still appear to be offering the 9-1 odds. they also match your first bet, and offer 30 quid through quidco.com

So in theory you could bet 25quid, then another 25quid(free bet) and still be 5 quid up with the quidco money.

google quidco if you've never used it.

I think it improbable but I am hearing a rescue deal is being thrashed out for Coventry City

Ray Ranson is on the scene. But it would be better for him if it went into administration before he took charge.

If he bought it and put it in admin he could lose control quickly.

Anyway it's minus ten points very soon.

I think it is a case of everyone involved calculating the odds on Premiership promotion riches saving their hides and setting that against what they all write off if it goes into Administration. Coventry's very recent OK results have changed the atmosphere. The Council which takes a huge bath over the stadium sees nothing but gloom in administration but a possible win win win if they go up.

Producing some interesting numbers with accountants getting bookies' odds to use in calculating the present value of various outcomes for want of any better estimates of probability!

Anyway I am not divulging my source in what was a very brief call but if they find a formula which balances between Ranson being no worse off if they don't go up whilst getting him to "pay" for ten extra points he otherwise wouldn't have have to push for promtion this season, it won't go into administration.

Still looks bleak.

But the fact it is such a pile of the proverbial is helping because it puts a lot of people into not realistically having positions to defend (they have lost already!) and are willing/wanting to be talked into being creative. Geoffrey Robinson has a big political what's in it for me to pull this one off and he is an operator.

If you listened properly you would have heard the chairman say he had a call from Paul Jewell's agent at 11 am. He didn't speak to Paul himself until 3pm. He then met him at 8pm to sort out terms.

I wrote my story about 4pm if you really need to know.

Sorry for your confusion... ;)

No sorry Alan it's you that seems to be confused. Who said anything about what the chairman said? I quite clearly heard Paul Jewell say that he was contacted at "about 11 yesterday morning".

Perhaps Paul Jewell isn't going to tell some journo what's happening in his personal life? I know I wouldn't!

What on earth are you on about?

When you've already lost an argument, it's usually best to stop digging.

?

How have I 'lost the argument'? What argument? I merely stated that I believe Nicko was possibly making stuff up to enhance his otherwise pretty bland snippets of supposed insider knowledge! I backed this up with what I believed to be evidence, but I suppose it was to be expected that the likes of you would instantly leap to his defence.

Watching Harry Redknapp's press conference a few times I'm sure when he says the line about the reading the speculaltion in the papers I'm sure he nearly replaced the word speculation with the word sh#t.

The more I hear it the more I think he's gonna say it

I'm slowly but surely developing a real soft spot for Coventry! I went to watch them on Tuesday night (never turn down free tickets) and the drew 1-1 with Scunthorpe! They didn't look a bad side at all just lacking Mitso (or however you spell it) to convert any of the hundreds of chances they created.

Hope someone does rescue them!

Something to do with seeing them beat a team in claret and blue? :)

It was the chairman. As for 'telling some journo' what is going on maybe you should check with Paul Jewell yourself.

Who do you reckon for the next Scotland manager nicko ? Souey and Billy Davies are the current favourites.

What about George Graham at 25/1 ? I’m supprised he has been out of a job for so long.

Some people are ruling themselves in and others ruling themselves out. They will take their time. There is no great rush. But I don't see it being old George.

Bland? Just check who got the stories about the Bolton, Burnley, Leicester and Plymouth jobs in the past few weeks.

It looks like Ranson will now <_<

Cov Telegraph

Staff wages for the month have been paid by the bank, increasing the debt to £19m with them and around £39-40m overall.

This then allows another month for a deal to be done.
