Hey nicko!

Do you know if we are interested in any midfelders in january? We look very lost in the midfeld area and I hope we strenghten the squad with a player

that will go straight in the squad.

Then I have to question the abilities of Pedersen, Tugay, Mokoena and Savage who all have lost their form totally. Even Bentley seems to be out of sorts

at the moment.

Please reply!

I would think it is now a certainty. The Robbie Savage situation is becoming serious. How he can be left out three games running and then on the bench again is amazing. I don't think he is going to take that.

I don't know who, but there will be an arrival in that area. Virtually certain of that.

I thought Bentley was superb today,Reidy is looking ok and will only get better, Dunn is playing out of position and when he is back in the middle I think we will see the best of him, Gamst is low on confidence and hughsey knows this but he will sort him out and tugay was superb.

That leaves the axe who I think does a decent job and Sav who will run till he drops.

The axe will be away in Jan for the African nations so Sav will get his chance, i've no doubt he will be spitting his dummy out but thats just tough, its not like he's our best player.

I will admit the midfield looks a bit disjointed at the moment but I think its a case of finding the right mix with the players we have.

If hughes decided to cash in on Gamst I would like us to get Downing, but we probably couldn't afford him.

Surely leaving Robbie out shows that we have strength in depth and don't need to rush player back.

He'll understand that I'm sure....

I can't believe you owned up to knowing one...

Not a bad result for them all the same.

That 20 to 1 promotion bet not looking quite so stupid. ;)

Friend of mine called up asking for advice on the Rovers match for his coupon today. Told him you never know when we meet a team that is on a bad run, so to stay away. Did mention (and told him I was being blasphemous) that the new Burnley manager had come in with a pretty good inspiration for them so far and they might be worth a punt. Then saw who they were playing (and where) and told him to stay away from it. Oops.

Serious Alan?

Unless you've heard something more then I find the logic behind that very easy to follow. Hughes is simply keeping his powder dry. Given that we are weak in the midfield growler dept Hughes is surely playing Mokoena to avoid Sav picking up an injury and being unavailable when the Axe goes to play for SA. If anyone gets injured in Dec it's far better for the club that it's Mokoena.

Looks to me like a very professional and logical decision. If MH was playing Sav with the axe on the bench and Sav picked up a bad injury he'd be fully deserving of our criticism.
