Yes, he wants out...and yes, Sunderland are interested.

I believe Sunderland see Roberts as a partner for Jones, but both your points are valid.

My oh my, you are going to look daft very shortly...

Keane rules out Blackburn striker swoop :

I think philipl might well be saying 'ditto nicko'. B)

I realise that Keane may be partaking in doublespeak and double bluff but it's funny how quickly things turn around sometimes, don't you agree Alan?

I would go for James Milner and swap him for Peddo,

We should have got Milner when he went back to Newcastle from Villa and wasnt in the side. Newcastle fans now regard him as one of their best players and, being English, he'd probably be £6 million +

Toni has only just moved.

He is too old

(I think) he would be too slow for the prem

If there is a chance we would get Anelka thats where I would go

:xmas:

Too slow?? Christ, even Viduka and Davies can play here, why wouldn't Toni make it? At 30, still one of the top finishers in the world, would make an amazing signing for anyone with the cash and reputation to make it. Which excludes us.

I have never seen him play, and would not recognize him from my own Mother. I only said his name because I heard someone else mention he was good once, seems like what most other people do round here!

:rover: wake up and smell the coffee time,

ANELKA to blackburn, are you having a laugh.if he leaves the breezeebloc it will be to a top 4 team or villa/westspam.he might as well stay at lotnob,in europe and a club of our size.

HUDDLESTONE jesus who makes these up,from what i have seen the guy is class, still growing and developing and in landon.

ROBERTS goodbye and goodriddince, never liked the guy but after the foolham game was prepared to give him a go,he played very well but because sparky made a mistake and left him on the bench against westspam he throws the dummy out off the pram, aka the intertoto game.

THEAXE,clearly a squad player and if he wants to go TOODLE PIP :brfcsmilie:

Thats why I said - I think. When I heard he scored 30 goals in Italy (couple of seasons ago now I think) I started to have a look at him to see what was so special. For me it was his aerial ability that bagged him a few (from what I have seen of him - some geek will probably show me some stats to say otherwise) I didnt think he was that fast and I dont think his all round game looked that good.

By the way. I think Davies and Viduka are poo too :P

I know you have to stand up for your old pal...but the point is Roberts wants out, like I told you to cries of 'red-top tabloid' scorn.

I think you will also find that Keane fancies him as do a couple of others.

You won't find me backsliding - one of your favourite verbs - on the story.

Wow, this is the first I've heard about Hughes being interested in Anelka... if we got him that would be some coup! Anelka probably respects Hughes already (well come to think of it I can't imagine any players who don't already respect him) which will help Hughes to curve his character. I just wonder if a team like West Ham would be interested in him... would we stand a chance?

West Ham have spent a fortune, unless they have an endless pit of money I can't see them going after Anelka.

Thanks 'drog- you're a pal :tu:

Fair dos Nicko, you were sitting on some info I didn't have.

Rovers are in a strong position viz a viz fringe players like Roberts and the Axe. If they throw a strop, the bench gets weakened a bit maybe, if they want to be in the shop window they have to play their hearts out when the first team chance comes.

I've had negative and positive things to say about both of them.

If Sav is unsettled it is because he and Sparky will have had a heart to heart about Sav's immediate prospects and I would say that Reid and Dunn playing at their best will close the door to Sav being a starting selection with Tugay a more likely sub appearance than Sav as well. Sav has been a spectacular success for Rovers and we owe him a huge thank you but it might be the time to move on.

I am heartened that names like Anelka and Huddlestone are in the frame as it shows the ambition is there to keep getting better.

I think there is a huge amount of bluffing and double-bluffing going on and that includes no money for transfers.

The Reading fans I've talked too aren't too happy with Lita currently, and just like Roberts he's unhappy with the amount of time he gets on the pitch. If he moves it's to a club where he'll be a starter. Could see a club like Sunderland going for him, but I don't think Lita to Rovers would be a good move for either party. Though I bet Reading would like it.

As for Toni; Dream on. Serie A top scorer (First player to score 30+ in ages. And it was for Fiorentina), moves to Bayern München who despite their form in recent years are still a massive club. Currently topping the Bundesliga, averaging just over 2 goals scored/game, with 0.5 conceded. I believe Toni is the Bundesliga top scorer as well. To say that he'd be "too slow" is ridiculous. He might be slow, but as long as he scores goals what does it matter? It only becomes "too slow" when it stops him performing his job (i.e scoring), which it hasn't. Were Maradona and Zola too small to succeed? So yeah, easily good enough, but would never join us. Would cost a small fortune too.

It applies to Savage and the rest of them, if you want to be in the first team you HAVE to be good enough. It's hard to see what Savage will bring to the team now, apart from buzzing around like an irritated wasp. What is it with these players? Unhappy because they don't get a game? None of them have a divine right to play. The answer is simple when you get the chance play your socks off and make it impossible for Sparky to drop you. It's not brain surgery!

Absolutely.

Do the other 28% have to accept before 4pm? The deal is agreed but doesn't it need approval to go through?

The article says they have avoided administration. Wasn't the deadline imposed by themselve rather than the bank? Wouldn't this mean that as long as the deal is agreed in principal - the deadline doesn't really matter too much?

I don't think it's self imposed as they filed for admin in the courts. Don't think it's going to make much difference anyway as they'll do anything to make sure it goes through.

Damn Ranson, why didn't he get bored and move onto Luton.
