Get rid of Benni & Gamst. Possibly Savage if he is acting up.

Get Sidwell/Huddlestone. ConvinceRoberts to stay.

Could Chelski be persuaded to swap Benni for Sidwell? Could Spurs be persuaded to swap Gamst for Huddlestone?

Easier said than done but then, I am only a fan.

Sorry chaps but I don't want Roberts to stay that badly.

He brings presence but not goals and the rumours are that he is one of the senior pros who has disrupted the club's atmosphere.

There will be a lot of money chasing not many players this January and I would anticipate recovering what we paid for him if he does leave.

As far as transfers go it suddenly looks like a defender is required as Nelsen is looking very shaky at the moment, Ooijer is injured and Samba has lost form. The need for a right back has been shown, two strikers are looking to leave and left wing is a crucial area for replacement. Could be a very interesting window.

We have to have funds available.

For me Huddlestone is a quality player but not reallly someone we need if our two key grafters (Reid and Savage) are playing poorly. For me our season hinges on Nelsen and Reid rcovering their edge. With them performing we are solid, without them we are very vulnerable.

So if that happened we would have Roberts and RSC up front, with Derbyshire on the bench and who then as 4th choice? You're also talking about losing out on our only true goalscorer.

Sell Gamst and who plays wide left? Dunn? Who tends to drift into the middle and give us no width and who also fell out with Souness because he put him out wide. Peter? Who seems to have both injury problems and be a trouble-maker.

Our centre midfield would be improved greatly, but we'd be left with a massive hole on the left and a lack of options up front, not to mention we would have lost our best goalscorer. Seeing as RSC has a horrible history of injuries and has slight knee problems right now, if we lose a striker we have to replace him.

Roberts would be first on my list of strikers to sell. He obviously isn't as good as Benni or RSC, but is unhappy being on the bench, so he has to go. On top of that we know that clubs are interested in him. It really is odd for me that there are some people who are both so unhappy with Benni's attitude that they feel that we have to sell him and yet they would want to keep Roberts (who was obviously not on the bench yesterday because of things that have gone on, which must be beyond simply handing in a transfer request as Hughes has shown before that he will play players who want to leave or on their way but who are willing to do their job properly).

personally if a decent offer came in for mcarthy, roberts, savage and mokoena i would consider selling..

for me none are happy at blackburn, and also some arent good enough for blackburn ie savage and mokoena...

i would only sell mcarthy if a player of anelka's or defoe's ability came to us..if we dont get a replacement like that it would be pointless selling mcarthy...

i like roberts but obviously he isnt happy..

mokoena and savage wouldnt get in any other top 10 side, so we should sell...

maybe we could look at arsenal to loan a central midfielder, ie diaby or diarra-neither get played too much...

i think a right back, central midfielder or 2, a striker and a winger who can play on both wings is needed..

Manchester United are ready to launch a renewed bid for Nicolas Anelka - but will not offer Bolton a profit on the club-record £8million they paid for the striker.

Sir Alex Ferguson has begun sounding out Wanderers about the possibility of taking the Frenchman to Old Trafford in the New Year, but has been quoted a price of £12m.

Ferguson will not budge on his valuation of a player he has coveted since he first began tormenting United as a teenager at Arsenal.

Cruz hasn't been a goalscorer in his history. I don't doubt his qualities as a player, but he needs to play alongside a goalscorer.

Honestly? He's not deadly infront of goal - he missed two sitters against West Ham. Not that I'm complaining about the guy, he'll get his fair share, but his real value is as a target man.

roque is our top goalscorer! this is where this discussion ends :xmas:

I'm with you on this one phil. If we're going to get rid of one of the disruptive strikers - it should be Roberts not Benni.

For now yes. I'm fairly sure that if Benni and Cruz keeping playing that Benni will be the top scorer come the end of the season, probably with a bit of distance between the two.
